Hi Bonnie, our tags comply with modern military specifications which require that the metal be thin enough to be embossed (raiser lettering). If the tag were much thicker it would not be possible to emboss them

“Great experience. The MyDOGTAG website is easy to use, with plenty of options to customize your order. You buy two dog tags, but each can be different, not only with text but with the other options as well. This is perfect for someone buying tags for two or more people, or in my case, pets. I placed my order on the weekend, and it was filled the first business day following that. I'm sure I will buy here again and highly recommend this seller to others.”

“Disappointed in the quality. I have a set of tags from 9 years ago. They are slightly bigger and feel heavier and if better quality. The ball chain is better, too. Also, the pill box isn’t very tight. Im not going to use it for fear of losing my meds.”

Hi Rich, it appears you ordered our red aluminum tags for your pillbox which are indeed much lighter and thinner than the stainless steel tags which we recommend. Please contact us via email and we will arrange to remake them with stainless steel tags.

“Excellent. I originally ordered replicas of my dogtags for a project I'm working on. Then I discovered that they could custom make tags. I had black Vader tags made with a Sith symbol engraving. The best was the gold plated tags I had made of my father's for Father's Day. This company is the best.”

“I have to say these tags are as close as a person can get without enlisting. The only thing incorrecct is the chain. Number one, should be black like the tags. Number two the number of beads. The neck chain should have 365 beads and the short chain 24. This is in case you are taken captive. A way to track time. 365 for days in the year and 24 for hours in the day.”
