It signed me up for a subscription without my consent and now is going to charge me at the end of the month. I am only 16 do you think I can afford a monthly subscription?! This is a terrible company ripping people off!

The deodorant does not work! Summer gets hot and sweaty where I live, and things were smelling pretty pitty only a few hours after applying. Really disappointing.

The cheap $1 or $8 bundle clearly says you're signing up for a subscription, which you then have to cancel if you don't want. Make sure you read the fine print. Everything is amazing that I've gotten. The deodorant works better than any natural one I've used before, but still needs to be reapplied in humid summer months. Love the shampoo and conditioner!

STAY AWAY. This is a dishonest company. I placed an order which I was moderately happy with, but was then "subscribed" to an automatic shipment without my consent for over $60. When I emailed about the mistake, they said they would refund me if I sent it back at my own expense because it was too late to cancel (I never got an order confirmation, just a shipping confirmation). I was also informed that I had to cancel my "subscription" that I did not sign up for bu logging into an account that I had not yet made. I created an account to find that I had a 3 month subscription active that I had been charged for in full (again, never signed up for this OR opened an account), which I cancelled. It was then that I realized there were so many online reviews about this company scamming people. I emailed them about this and either got automated responses with more "deals" or quick, thoughtless responses that did not resolve my issue. I took it unopened to the post office and had them "return to sender" which lets you send it back without paying for the shipment (make sure it's unopened or they won't allow this). Hopefully I get a refund as promised. What a garbage company, ripping people off during a pandemic who are trying to support a sustainable business.

Same as everyone else. $1 trial offer and charged $30 for three bars of soap the following month. The product worked well, and I probably would have ordered it again anyways, but now I’ll NEVER buy anything from this shady ass company again

The bundles are amazing! The conditioner bar is a little hard to work into a lather but my hair feels so soft and healthy and my dandruff disappeared; the trade-offs are totally worth it! The tea tree body wash bar is my all-time favorite. I wish it lasted a little longer, though - all the other products will last much longer than a month but the tea tree bar only lasts a couple weeks. I am so happy with the deodorant! Every day I am in shock that it works better than any name brand deodorant I've tried. I love everything in these bundles and I can't wait to try more!

Should have read the reviews before trying their $1 trial. The website is very vague with their offers and was not about to be roped into $20 a month for soap I won’t see for 2 month. The website made it very difficult to access my account to cancel the subscription. Then when I contacted support I got a very generalized email, which makes it apparent they know many people have this issue with their business model.

Product is fine, but the customer service was very poor. I would not buy from this company again. I had to ask my credit card company to dispute the charge since they wouldn't cancel a subscription service that I didn't sign up for. "Misleading trial offers" are listed on my credit card's reasons to dispute a charge. Very grateful for my credit company's help on this because I have NEVER experienced such dishonest business practices! For what it's worth, I have gotten exceptional customer service from their sister company, Pela.

So disappointed with the Habitat Botanicals Experience. I have been trying to cancel a subscription that I apparently signed up for (had no idea and is costing me $50/month), yet unable to remember my password and the password reset link doesn't work. I have tried contacting them directly and writing this review is kind of a last resort, pleeaasseee I need to cancel this subscription. I can't afford it and I don't go through the products that quickly. As for the products: shampoo and conditioner bars are actually pretty good... but the deodorant really hurts to put on and doesn't really do anything in the way of deodorising (so would really like to stop paying for that ASAP). Pretty sad to have to write this in a review habitat botanicals, would love if your reset password link just worked or you responded to my email. Thanks.

Zero stars. It took almost 2 months to receive my order and the customer service was terrible. They were absolutely clueless and just kept telling me what I want to hear. They couldn't even figure out where my package was and there was no real tracking number provided. Now Pela phone cases have taken over their customer service and refuse to do anything to make the situation right. No accountability whatsoever. Don't buy from either of these companies. They don't care about their customers and just make excuses

Signed up for the $1 product bundle and then before I even got to try the products they charged me $90! This was two months ago and I’m still trying to get my money back. They made me pay return shipping even though i told them not to ship out the products before they even shipped but they told me it was too late. Today they finally told me they refunded me and I looked and they only refunded $65 out of the $85 they owe me as if I wouldn’t notice. Plus the soap made my back breakout. I tried to leave a review on the website and you can’t. It shows reviews but you can’t leave one so they are obviously fake. I found out about them through their other company Pela case and I will never order from any of their companies again.

I don’t trust this company or it’s products. I got an offer to try out the lip balm for $1 while shopping with a partner of Habitat Botanicals. The lip balm dried up after about 2 days even though the cap was on it the entire time. A couple weeks later I found a $20 charge from the company for products I DID NOT order. Seems that by getting the sample they somehow also got me to subscribe to a monthly plan? The unsubscribing process is confusing and it’s unclear if you successfully unsubscribe or not . I can’t speak to the other products (I hope they’re great because I would love to have more sustainable beauty / health options) but the company just feels shady to me now. DO NOT GET THE SAMPLE PACKAGES.

I wanted to love all of these products, but I cannot get past the shockingly awful smell of every single product. The packaging is good, though the labels were nearly unreadable by the time the package arrived. Now I am anxious that I will be stuck with a subscription for products that I simply cannot bear to smell.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I ordered a sample bundle that was portrayed to be 8 dollars. I received my order, thinking that was it. In the fine print, I guess, as I never *SAW THIS*, it apparently said it would be shipped out *every month*. I was charged $40 without consenting. During an economic crisis. Absolutely disgusting. I understand this company cares about the Earth but please try care about the human inhabitants trying to make ends meet. Doesn't look like you care about that. Disgusting.

I tried the $1 sample shampoo and conditioner and am really grateful I could try bar versions for such a low cost since they usually are pretty expensive. The shampoo worked well for being my first bar version, without much of a transition period. I'm not a huge fan of the smell of the conditioner but just love that both are in bar form and plastic-free.

Tried the 1$ promotion. Was satisfied with the products at first, but then Habitat "renewed" a subscription I never intended on having. I was charged $40 US for something I never agreed on purchasing. Plus, the company was not helpful and very vague on how to cancel the subscription. Would not recommend just because of the overall experience.

They are horrible and scam people by subscribing you to their products without even asking. Don’t buy from them. It takes them weeks to send you your order bur the things they scam you with (subscription) they ship it the same day that they charge your credit card. Not really ethical they only care about money and not their service.

THIS IS NOT AN HONEST COMPANY. Do not buy any products, especially the $1 items unless you want five to fifteen dollars to be removed from your bank account each month. I made two initial purchases on their list of $1 items only to battle a subscription that I did not create for the next three months. Despite canceling these subscription, they have still charged me the five and fifteen dollar amounts (without receiving any additional items). I have asked for a refund but have not received any response thus far. I am all for buying in bulk and an automatic subscription, but I need to give willing consent for this to occur. I guess the subscription service was sneakily built into their $1 deal, but this is SHADY and not ethical. To top it off, I had to create and account just to cancel my subscription. Not sure how that makes any sense. Especially in the middle of a pandemic when so many are struggling just to make ends meet, this is not acceptable. It is such a shame because for anyone who strives to live zero waste, they will know the struggle of scouring multitudes of online shops for the best prices and products. If you WANT a subscription, by all means go ahead. Other wise, DO NOT buy anything from this company.
