My dogs love the food but personally i liked the old food containers better.

Love the food, hate the new packaging. Paper gets soggy and no lid to put back on

I love how easy it is to get the food out of your new packing because in the old one it did get stuck and dry to the sides, but unfortunately there are some downsides; it’s harder to stack in fridge if the box is open, and also the paper underneath can be a bit of a pain. Also the raw meat appears to be different and very mushy, which my doggo is less fond of!

I have been impressed with the service of the subscription & quality of the food is great but I have to say I am disappointed with the new packaging. The previous packaging was easily recyclable. The new piece of compostable plastic under meat is dirty & always goes in the bin. I have open packets of raw meat in my fridge whereas before there was a lid. I personally feel the change in packaging has been serious detriment to the product.

Not very happy with the new dog food packaging. Our dog does not eat a full container a day. It is difficult to pull off the foil in one piece so when it is returned to the fridge it has to be put in a separate container so that it doesnt contaminate other food products in the fridge. The old designed containers had a lid which meant it could be put back in. Dog foods great, well the dog eats everything.

Hi Judith, we are working on a reusable lid that will be available at some point in the near future. The reduction in carbon footprint the new packaging provides is so huge (made in the UK, less weight, less raw material) and the compostability improved so much by the non stick coating that we had to make the switch. A lot of people are either using a tupperware container or something like a wax wrap x

I have been using Naturaw for a while now for my Cockapoo who absolutely loves the food but I am really disappointed with the new packaging. I find it a lot more fiddly with the film on top and not sure what the paper lining is doing at the bottom as it’s just something else that you have to touch to peel off the food. I’m now having to use a plastic tub with a lid to put the rest of the food in for the next day which seems completely against the point of it all being more environmentally friendly. I much preferred the old packaging even if you did get the odd bit of paper stuck to the food. I also think the trays could have been smaller. If it wasn’t for the great quality of the food and good delivery I would be looking for another brand with more user friendly packaging.

Hi Emma, thanks for the feedback. We are working on a reusable lid that will be available at some point in the near future. The reduction in carbon footprint the new packaging provides is so huge (made in the UK, less weight, less raw material) and the compostability improved so much by the non-stick coating that we had to make the switch. In the meantime a lot of people are either using a tupperware container or something like a wax wrap to contain any leftovers. If you are reusing the same plastic container this isn't environmentally un-friendly - going through a new plastic tub every time you opened a pack would be. The paper liner at the bottom is to facilitate getting it cleanly into the trays at the moment - we'll always look to improve things where we can x

Food great as always. New packaging is atrocious. Bring back the old version. Lid doesn’t remove easily it has to be torn unless immense care is taken. Can’t reuse the lid, obviously 👎🏼 All the food sticks to the inside of the packaging too. Although the old packaging did this too. Package was delivered to the wrong address despite being a regular subscription. This is not nature raw’s fault.

Hi Benjamin, we are working on a reusable lid that will be available at some point in the near future. The reduction in carbon footprint the new packaging provides is so huge (made in the UK, less weight, less raw material) that we had to make the switch. As for the non-stick, this is a very unusual report and in fact the only one we have had of this nature. In our extensive testing and the vast majority of customer feedback so far, suggests that the non stick aspect is the most successful feature. x

I love the old style as I could keep a lid on the container in the fridge. I can't with the new style as well because it ripped. The colours are bright 🌞

The new packaging comes in with such a lower carbon footprint than previous that we had to make the switch. Appreciate a lid would be useful for many people, so we have been working on a re usable lid that will be available in the future. In the mean time we have heard from a few customers that using wax wraps works well xx

New packaging looks good but two tubs arrived with the lids torn. Are they safe to use. Also you can’t close them when you don’t use the full tub. You need a more permanent lid replacement

New packaging is better in that food no longer sticks. Question whether you need the extra bit of “plastic” underneath food. Don’t like the fact that food no longer has a proper lid which can be reseated once opened. Real lack of variety in large box. Would consider changing brand for this reason.

My dogs loved the old style mince - but sadly they are not keen on the finer mince of the new food. One boy even walked away from the Fish & Chick - too “sloppy”. Packaging is excellent being all compostable/recyclable.

The delivery is great, but the box I get has less and less choice/variety with every month that goes by. I have sent this feedback before, it’s changed nothing. I am starting to look at other suppliers.

Packaging and delivery packing is fantastic. No plastic, no polystyrene. If only every company did that. But, the food isn't balanced enough for our dogs. It is 100% meat when you need 15% vegetables to make a balanced diet. Yes, we could supplement, but why would we want to do that? Also, you need to offer a 1kg option. If you have two big dogs like we do that is needed.

Hi Thomas, thanks for the review. A very high proportion of our customers choose not to feed veg for a variety of reasons. By adding it to every product we would be excluding all of them from being able to feed it. This is why we choose to provide it separately so it can be added by those who need it and our food can be tailored to suit every individual dog.

I really like the dog food for my dog and I like the company's ethos, but I don't like the fact that they are inflexible with the subscriptions boxes and won't substitute a flavour. My dog won't eat the All Chicken flavour, and the company won't switch it, I tend to get 4 of these tubs each month and my freezer is now full of the blasted things! But I haven't cancelled as my dog eats the other flavours and I believe raw dog food is the best for her.

Your service is excellent, I order the mixed box due to cost, it usually contains tripe dinners, which none of our dogs like, so this time I have wasted a few meals, the packaging is a good concept, but bulky in the freezer.

Naturaw is a high quality and ethically principled brand (British, organic, free range or farm assured meat; low food miles (for me); plastic free packaging) with a good next day delivery service. Sometimes low stock has been a problem when I’ve wanted to order, and it’s one of the most expensive dog food producers I’ve used. Overall, great if you can afford it, but too expensive for me.
