Recovery has to be booked and £20 call-out fee paid for online before anyone will come out to you. Not great when you break down in an area with very poor phone signal like I did. Spoke to OneCall on the phone who just said go online. I will be buying AA/RAC cover from now on.

Unable to simply phone for breakdown. The fact you have to log onto your online portal and register it online is a joke. I had no 4g as I broke down in a bad reception area so took ages to load. Waited about 90 minutes (which I thought was fine) but they sent a recovery truck that was far too small for my van so had to wait another hour the correct one, then they sent the driver to the wrong address. Surely common sense should prevail that I am on a van insurance policy? I did give 2 stars because both recovery drivers that attended were excellent.

Having reported breakdown link was sent to report a breakdown ( again? Is this really necessary?) Couldn't submit in the event. Called again to check if had gone through; it hadn't. So on 2nd call operator reported breakdown; no link required. Breakdown service was very good. What would happen if caller didn't have smartphone??

Unfortunately I had to wait 5 hours for recovery. In the end, the truck driver was cheerful and helpful. The situation was handled well. Just a shame we had to wait so long.

The service centre were helpful but I was told that a recovery truck would be with me within 60 to 90 mins, it actually took 4.5 hours. You need to try and be more realistic with the estimated arrival times and not set unrealistic expectations, there is surely a way to make a better estimate. Once the recovery truck arrived I have to say the service was very good and a very friendly and helpful driver.

Had to call to report my car breaking down but there is no contact number. I had to fill in a form. I managed to then get it started. Onecall required a £20 fee for this. Because I called the recovery company and cancelled it oncall left me a missed cal. When speaking to them they agreed to refund it as a goodwill gesture as the recovery company has not yet dispatched their truck. I spoke to a nice pleasant agent called Suraj who couldn’t have been any more helpful throughout.

It's hard to access internet on side of road so called breakdown number...only to be sent link to website Was sent a text with a pickup time..this passed so called breakdown again.I had to call pickup company as they had not informed me of delay...ended up with pickup over an hour after ETA..plus pickup company was not the local one about 10 mins from me

When.my van broke down I was given an eta of 3.40 pm,two hours after I reported the breakdown.A recovery vehicle actually turned up at 5.10 p.m, three and a half hours after I reported it. No-one kept me informed, I was the.one doing all the phoning. The recovery driver was actually very helpful, helping me get the van onto my drive but the communication from the control centre was appalling.

The call handler was okay, but the guy who turned up to jump start my car, first of all went to the wrong place, even though I asked him if he knew where he was going when he called me initially. It was only when he called a second time to ask where my car was, that he turned up at the right location. He had a booster starter, that wasn't fully charged, so had to go and get another one. This just added more time to what should have been a pretty straightforward jump start. There doesn't seem to be a tick box for 1-2 hours below, so I've left it empty. When it comes time to renew, next year, I'll give them a miss.

The breakdown was in Falmouth. The breakdown service called was from Plymouth, some 65 miles away. Consequently, we were waiting for over two hours! We had to pay £225 which could possibly have been made less expensive by calling a local garage. Once there, the breakdown was dealt with courteously and efficiently. SM1

Broke down in Exeter on way home to Aberdeen from Cornwall on Saturday afternoon phoned for help from one call OK they could pick my car up but I had to name the garage I wanted my car taken too which I had no idea where any of the garages are as don't come from that area got more help from the pickup company than I did from one call not impressed with them at all was on the phone to them for over an hour while the people that was with me tried finding a garage that was open that we could take our car too so was stuck in the blistering heat with 3 kids for about 3hrs tried finding a company to hire a car but everything closed between 2 and 4pm couldn't get any ended up with loan car from pickup company to get us home now waiting to hear when our car will be ready for pickup which repairs is £1200 (clutch) will never use one call again

Initial phone call made at 10.00, mechanic arrived at 11.55. Mis-diagnosed problem (flat battery after boot door not properly closed) and wanted to sell me a new battery. He had to go back to base to get a diagnostic kit. In the meantime I drove the car for a few miles to recharge the battery. Alternator found to be working and charging the battery. I could have been £70 down

Firstly I had to pay £20, the man came out and to be honest he just had quick look and said I would have to take it the garage. I realised this but he said that garages were not yet open so I would have to arrange for him to come back to transfer my car with an additional £1.50 per mile, to cut a long story short, I arranged for the garage to pick my car up, they gave me a curtesy car, so in future I have joined another breakdown service, who actually help you. So I won't be using this service in the future

I understood it was a breakdown service, I struugled to my place of work, my car stopped 2 times and eventually started, i rang to have a call out at my work to ensure safe return home later, I was charged £20 and was told I needed to find another service to fix it, which i did.

The handling of the call was fine, and a local roadside guy attended in the time frame specified. However he didn’t have the relevant equip. To analyse the problem and couldn’t fix it. As I was a significant distance away from home, I called the AA and joined and had an officer attend within the hour. He had the right equipment to analyse, identified the issue and knew a fix to get us up and running again. Without this I would have been looking at getting the car back home from a York to Essex. So bottom line for me on this experience is the One Call rescue agents aren’t up to the same standard as the AA, so will stick with them in future.
