Best decision of the year. If you think about going for it, do it and you will not regret it. The amount of information and the manner in which it is being transfered is really awesome imho. I have gaps in my jazz knowledge and this platform is a great way to fill those gaps. Its like having your teacher availible 24/7 đŸ™đŸŸ #happypracticing

Open Studio is, by far, my favorite online learning site. The instructors are experts at their craft and very easy to follow and engaging through each lesson. I am very happy with my purchases and look forward to many more exciting courses!

I like the method and learn about this wonderful world that is jazz the only thing that will narrow down is that if there were the subtitles in Spanish it would be great as I would understand more in depth I hope that in the future I have many musician friends who interest them the courses but the Language. They're afraid that everything is in English but congratulations are very happy at Open Studio

Hi Adam! A few days ago I bought two courses on your platform with Black Friday discount - Elements of Jazz Piano and Keez to Jazz Piano. I successfully used materials. Last time I visited the platform on Friday, December 6. But today both courses are not available. Help me please to solve the problem. I'm very upset. Thanks. Best regards, Olga Cherdyntseva.

The. Video and simultaneous transcription with ability to vary the speed and looping is great. The demos in Elements of Jazz series are great. I find more difficult the left hand voicing and particularly once past the elementary stages the quick descriptions of complex chord sequences much to fast. Also the memorizing the various scales from dominant, myxolydian bebop etc in rapid sequence seems impossible to translate to ones fingers while playing. I can tell what sounds good in what Peter and Adam play and slavishly copy it note by note. I’m in my first 8 months and practice about 10 hours a week. I enjoy it immensely and the time flies by while doing it and that is the main thing. I figure I’m about 10 years away from being able to improvise anything remotely like what I hear them play...but Tommy Flanagan sounds superb on his 90th birthday album ( not that I’ll ever be playing like him of course - just giving an age sample as I am 67). I even can play Donna Lee transcription at about 30 percent speed so I guess that’s something.

I find Peter's lessons extremely logical and helpful with new ideas. The transcriptions are very important, not just to learn lines, but to see how he does them . Often listening to them, I would not guess what he is doing. However with his explanations, he helps me construct my own ideas using his concepts.

I have been a member for several years and each year gets better. There are a variety of courses ranging from beginner to advanced as well as some specialized courses such as pentatonic boot camp. The instructions are top notch and the transcriptions and living notation are great time savers.

Open Studio drum and rhythm section courses are focused, on-the-mark and very pragmatic. Being able to ‘virtually’ experience well-trained and accomplished professionals explain, breakdown and demonstrate their craft is incredibly important for teaching desirous learners (like me and my friends). Thanks!
