I am not through yet but OS seems really great. Adam is ingenious and brings my new ideas constantly although I have played many years. He thinks fast and speaks as fast but luckily there are subtitles and of course you can listen to him again and again. You must not miss any grain of gold.

The Harmony Games course is based on an understanding of a common concept for a range of chord progressions which is new for me and this understanding is interesting for me to come into. This is good and possible for me to handle in the first parts. However, I realise that I need some weeks to get the whole concept under my skin. It is kind of a meditation. I would have appreciated that you had included the notes of the small licks and thrills Adam is using and then I would have been able to learn from this too. I have given a score of 8 because I like the course, but I do not have any friends or colleagus interested in this topic. So the true answer is that I would not recommend it to anyone meaning zero score.

There are endless yiutube channels and websites providing jazz piano knowledge, but what makes Open Studio different is the ability to go through an entire concept from basics to mastery in 60 seconds. Just check any of their shorts on youtube. This way the student can choose where to start and what to dig into further. It is convenient that Open Studio has also in-depth courses on most topics.

The video controls are a bit clunky on iPad. It makes it hard to go back a few seconds to replay a part. Also it would be super helpful to see finger placement on a virtual keyboard. I might be too beginner for this course, but those two things would help tremendously!

Hi Matthew, Thanks for your feedback. We have a 30-day Complete Satisfaction Guarantee, so let us know if The Harmony Games is feeling too advanced for you. We're happy to exchange for a Level 1 course or refund. While The Harmony Games was intentionally designed without Living Notation, as you explore other courses, you'll find that lessons with transcription can be viewed with a live virtual keyboard. Let us know if you need anything along your jazz piano journey! We're here to help. Happy practicing.

As a pianist and singer, I can't tell you enough how Adam and Peter have helped me grow as a musician. I play better, I understand the theory more, and I can also teach others at my church with clarity. Thank you guys.

I am a big fan of Adam Maness and his harmony series. As of yet my practicing hasn't caught up with his prodigious output in this area. A lot of his instructional harmony videos, could be used for accompanying a singer. That is what I am mainly interested in. Thankyou Adam.

I was given a pretty fantastic price for the Christian McBride bass course. It was an ofer I could not refuse! He is such an amazing musician.. even if you don't play bass! The tools that show the notes along side the video is very impressive.

You guys are fantastic! Wish you'd been around back when I started playing, but I'm glad the kids have your resource now, and I love still learning about the music.

I really like openstudio, I think it's a great platform to learn jazz and develop more integrally as an artist. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable, is that during some lessons, the teacher while explaining something basic, unexpectedly starts playing scales and chords, extremely difficult, to make a point... That confuses me a lot... It's like taking basic physics classics, and then the teacher suddenly starts explaining the quantum laws of the multiverse, and then unexpectedly goes back to the basic physics of pulleys. Anyway I am very grateful for the opportunity to take classes with the great teachers at openstudio. I would like to see more female teachers who are not just singers in the lessons. Regards. J.
