Works well on my setup, and I've learned a few new things. Thanks for frank and funny discourse at my level. There is a lot of material and I hope I can look at all it six weeks.

Everything is great. One suggestion. You should fit the grand piano with a midi transmission strip. This would allow Peter’s students to play his performance back on their own midi keyboard at whatever tempo desired and examine the notes more accurately in a midi score. I know the rhythm wouldn’t display accurate but that doesn’t matter so much. Your transcriber might have an easier time as well.

Can’t learn much from Peter playing so fast. I know he’s good but slow it down and show me how the fingering should be. I’m in a beginning course and some of the things we’re asked to play seem quite advanced.

Hello Bob, Thanks for taking the time to review us. We hear you and are currently preparing a course that would be a good primer for the beginners course. Stay tuned.

I've been a member for 5 months and have been impressed with the quality of the lessons for the intermediate/advanced player. They are continually adding more features such as transcription, which is very helpful. Overall very impressed...

I enjoy the lessons of Steve Wilson and The Blues Pack. They are a lot of material and I have other lessons and teachers so I go slow.

I think it’s really great-BUT so much of content is about learning by ear -(although not completely) it would be nice if an ear training program or method were offered or recommended - I’ve had to look elsewhere

I thought that the all access pass would give me access to everything for the one price but I still have to purchase courses individually

Hello Al, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry for any confusion about the All-Access Pas vs the Lifetime Access to specific courses. With the All-Access Pass you do have access to every course released during your membership. The Lifetime Access option on single courses gives you streaming access to the course forever in addition to extras like downloadables. As far as Living Notation, there are zooming functions that allow you to show more of the transcription on the screen, and there is a slow down feature too. We are happy to show you some more features if you like. Just send us an email at support@openstudionetwork.com. Best, Dan Co-Founder, Open Studio

Highly recommended for all levels. As a working musician and Educator, I initially joined Open Studio with the specific goal at becoming more confident at performing Solo Jazz Piano. Not only have they exceeded my expectations, I’ve also been enjoying the different styles of teaching from various O.S instructors, which has in return helped me look at my own style of teaching, and how I could improve in that discipline. Open Studio also offers Open Studio Pro which is for the more serious student, with live zoom classes that you could attend. The community in O.S Pro is awesome, and everyone is working on something. The teachers are world class, and they also invite world class jazz artists to give a workshop via Zoom. If you want to improve your jazz playing, this is a great place for it.

Looking for at least 7 stars and "superb" but you limited yourself to 5! In short, you guys have created the most innovative, and informative learning platform available for anyone wishing to turn music theory into practice. The gold standard. Thanks, and don't ever stop.

There is an amazing amount of well-designed lessons ! The step-by-step process is well thought out, which makes it more likely the student will be successful. I have a subscription to several different jazz piano lessons. This is, by far, one of the best !

Some of the explanations could be slowed so people could understand what’s going on I am a retired music teacher and I look at presentations some teachers musicians would show something and would play at lightening speed a big chunk of music I am old school I believe in playing on a fhythmn idea play the same idea again etc

Hello Alexander, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry the Jazz Piano for Beginners didn't live up to your expectations. We are actually working on a new jazz piano course that may be a better fit called "Jazz Piano Jumpstart". We will let you know when that is launching. Best, Dan Co-Founder, Open Studio

Dear Open Studio: Peter Martin is simply the best teacher I have had to learn Jazz. He is quick, to the point and honest about everything that he does not to mention his virtuosity on the acoustic piano. If this is any indication of how he is as a person, how can one go wrong? Equally incredible are the people supporting him in Adam Maness along with all the other great musicians on Open Studio. Wish I had time to digest all of the courses but I have to take care of what's on my plate first and that is Jazz piano. My hats off to all of the Open Studio staff and making this quality education available for us all. Dwight

I like the way the material is presented in both text and video. I think the video slowdown feature is very helpful to me. The two minute videos are great for picking up useful tips. Your approach is well thought out and professionally done.
