Some of the most excellent online piano lessons I’ve taken (there’s been plenty) and great customer service - they really go above and beyond in answering all questions.

A spectacular resource, wonderfully executed. Excellent value for money, considering the depth of the material available and the difficulty to access it through other means! (years and years of private lessons!)

I can’t imagine a better value for your dollar. Instructors are top notch and interface is easy to use. There is such a wealth of information available that it can sometimes seem overwhelming but there is always someone to help. Love it!

Open Studio is a great on line music school from beginners to professionals. Highly recommended and well worth the competitive tuition!

I love Open Studio because it's a very supportive online resource for all levels of jazz learners, on multiple instruments. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, but an extremely slow learner of jazz, and Open Studio is perfect for me to progress at my own pace on whichever instrument I want to pick up. That said, the classes are set up for learners of all levels, so if you are a jazz superstar who learns quickly, Open Studio is also for you! I really like the personalities. The obvious standouts are Peter Martin and Adam Maness, but Jeffrey Keezer, Christian McBride, Bob DeBoo, Fred Hersch, and Edú Ribeiro have been cultivating online personalities as well. There is an ongoing calendar of live events, workshops, and lessons which is engaging and fun. Thank you for doing what you guys do!

For me, the content is 2nd to none. It is very well produced and the instructors do a fantastic job presenting concepts in a way that's actually useful, and hearing them play so well is inspiring. I rate you only 3 stars though, because sadly, all this great content is being let down by your web site. While it looks great, the navigation is wonky and somewhat unpredictable when trying to find my way around in the deeper levels, and not very mobile-friendly. Worse than this, it is painfully S-L-O-W, and extremely frustrating on mobile. I would love to listen to the content on the go, such as when driving or working out. But the super slow loading of pages and media, along with just the general difficulty of moving around on mobile make this all but impossible. I have very fast internet, and comparatively speaking I do not have the same trouble with most other sites (including many free ones) that deliver video media, so the problem is definitely you, not me. I just expect more from a paid subscription for a site with such professional content.

Absolutely brilliant!! All the instructors are superb, the material is first-rate, the variety and expertise is unmatched, and Peter and Adam are a perfect double-act. Without a doubt the best resource for learning jazz available.

As a jazz pianist, I have used many online jazz instructional resources over the years, and I've never regretted any of them. Each teacher brought their unique outlook and presentation styles, and I've learned so much from each of them, absorbing their lessons into my style. That said, Open Studio is my favorite. The breadth and depth of the lessons is among the most robust I've seen anywhere, the instructors aren't just masters of their craft but also at teaching, and transcriptions and technical resources are absolutely tremendous. Any one of those features are worth the price of admission, but we get all of them! There is also a strong living, breathing community at open studio. With the live guided practice sessions, live mentor sessions, and "The Hang," a series of message boards where instructors and fellow students share insights, I feel united and supported from like-minded individuals from the solitude of my own living room. The instructors don't just lead with music, they lead with their hearts. You'll come to know them by their personalities and you won't just learn, you'll be inspired.

Exceptional education from some of the most qualified and passionate teachers and musicians you can find. Not only is this an investment in yourself, but it’s an investment in the OS network and teachers. A collective commitment to lifelong learning!

Fantastic resource for improving jazz skills, particularly on piano. I love the breadth of what's on offer, from more traditional skills training through to fun stuff on contemporary songs etc. The one thing I've missed is really practical exercises for getting blues licks down, but I may just not have found it yet amongst the wide range of material. Would recommend.

I like that Open Studio offers any and all levels of instruction and has a variety of instructors to fit different learning styles. he courses and live sessions are always outstanding. I follow Adam the most right now because his pedagogy best fits my learning style, but I look forward to when I can "hang" with the others more often. Adam's teaching is accessible, clear, kind, fun, and extremely creative. He a genius pedagogue, a great communicator and a fantastic artist. I believe I am becoming well-rounded at my own pace with Open Studio because its offerings include many facets of the art of jazz: listening, rhythm, how and what to practice, theory, physical techniqe, performance, ensemble work, psychology, a supportive community, etc!

as a jazz piano player student I like Peter Marting explaining its playing on standards. I take advantage to reply at this survey to suggest Peter to demonstrate in a quartet formula with horn for example his comping playing.

While I grew up a professional guitar play, arthritis of my left thumb forced a move to keys. Our son is an accomplished jazz player. He introduced me to Open Studio a few years ago. While I will not live long enough to match his skill, or that of my parents, it has given me the ability to continually improve and to continue playing music. That makes me happy. That changes my life. Thank you.
