“Open Studio has been a game changer for me. It gives me a structure to follow the lessons on Open Studio Pro live or at my own pace later if I can't make the time or day. As a Double bassist I am of course a fan of Mr Deboo but also watch the Masterclass series with Reuben Rogers. In addition the ear training, transcribing lessons and Bass specific course's are an added bonus.”

“I think this is one of the best learning tools available for the novice to the pro I subscribed to hone my bass skills upright/ electric and got more bang for the buck the piano tutorials are excellent highly recommended for anyone wanting to improve their overall musicianship.”

“I am a member of Open Studio Pro, which also gives me access to Open Studio's content. The entire platform is super-welcoming, and calibrated to meet you where you are. Some content is free, other content you can pay for just as you need it, and other membership levels give you broader access. The content is structured both to improve overall musicians in jazz and also to help you focus on the challenges of particular instruments. So, on the content/platform questions, OS provides a ton of great content of just the type you need, when you need it. But the truly unique characteristic of the platform is the combination of the super-friendly and gifted instructors and the community. Making music is not an acquisition of data, it's an internalization of language and culture. The culture of OS is second to none. If you want to work with and be supported by musicians actually doing music with you and for you, I couldn't recommend OS more highly. It's setting the standard.”

“I signed up for the Bass Pro offering because you get excellent tutoring from Bob DeBoo as well as courses by some of the greats. Ron Carter and Christian McBride to name two. The learning interface is simple to use and there is really good content for all levels of bassist!”

“Open Studio is the best music and jazz educational program that I have found on the internet for an incredibly affordable fee. It has helped me improve my performance skills immensely. I highly recommend it to people of all ages, skill levels and nationalities. It would cost you thousands of dollars to get the same amount of information anywhere else.”

“As long as i can afford it is fine Chris Parks class is excellent because he makes you play all the time and forces you to be in time. Jeremys class is great except you have to ask him and he will listen to you play which helps a great deal. He needs pdfs Adams facebook site is excellent because he has ideas that will help you with hand coordination. ADAM wants us to use his beginner course online which is fine BUT he should a practice routine I think people need to LISTEN TO ALL the instruments. Find out what the timing is . That will improve our ear”

“I truly enjoyed my time at OS. I attempted to Ouse my membership - admittedly a second time - as I was out of the country. I was told that if I came back I would no longer have the original rate I was promised initially. I simply cannot afford the 50$ and I feel open studio has been unfair in this regard.”

“I’ve been using OS for a couple of years now. The course material is excellent; clear and immediately useful, and the presentation and tutors are motivating. It’s definitely player a key role in my development as a musician. The main benefit for me, as an adult learner, has been learning how to practice effectively and understand what progress looks like. Game changing.”

“Open Studio is a wonderful community of engaging and supportive teachers/performers and like-minded students, all intent on improving our Jazz skills and appreciation of this wonderful art form. All are welcome, with egos checked at the door. The live classes, online content, and performance opportunities (not to mention master classes with some of the top names in Jazz today) are incredible. OS has had a huge, positive impact on my musical journey. I can't recommend it enough.”

“The best part is the community of people with similar goals and passions. There are many great teachers who are enthusiastic about teaching and offering different topics and styles of playing. There is such a wealth of courses you can spend hours every day learning something new and practicing. The downside is the lack of guidance for the new members of OpenStudioPro. You have to just jump in and figure it all out where to go on your own.”
