I am really enjoying the content! There are a couple of features that I think could be Improved: For the block chords course a pdf with all the basic scales on would be helpful to stop having to go back to individual videos and finding them My player bugs out sometimes and I have to refresh which loses my place A -15/+15 second button like there is on YouTube would be so handy if something is slightly missed. Otherwise it’s great and so helpful

Great and entertaining courses. I played piano for a year without any real development but starting again with the jazz piano jump start is helping immensely.

Just started my membership. Guitar is my main instrument. OS has made me happy in a number of ways and I'm very satisfied with my subscription. The Brazilian courses are amazing and everything from Adam and Peter is fantastic. Guided practice sessions are really what I needed in my life. Only reason I won't go 5 stars just yet is that, as a guitar player, I find Peter Sprague's school of thought a little convoluted and odd - haven't been able to get a lot from it. He's a technician, just not my cup of tea. That, and the interface is a little clunky. Overall, huge fan and super appreciative that I got that new years deal on my membership. I've already recommended the service to friends. Thanks a ton OS!!

Beyond the sheer amount of information, videos, pdfs, etc., I am touched by the sincerity and openness of all the instructors. It’s on a level I have never experienced before. It’s as if I were in the room with them and they were sharing what they knew with their best friend. They speak from their heart and soul while entertaining me with humor. Big thanks to everyone, I really mean it.

I like Adam’s and Peter's teaching style. Especially their approach that music is much more than just hitting the keys. I will recommend Open Studio

Really enjoying it so far! I've learnt more from a few short lessons and guided practise sessions than I did in a few months with in-person tuition!

Adam's enthusiasm for the subject matter encourages me when I practice, and his presentation of the material is very clear.

I like the course I’m in: “Bebop Enclosures”. What I like about it is it is very complete and very consistent. I especially like being exposed to the fundamental prep work needing to be mastered, before tackling enclosures. For a horn (Bb winds) player, this prep work is probably more challenging than it is for a piano player. It's a lot of hard work. What would *really* make the course better for me is if it could be transposed to Bb. This way I could concentrate on trying to master the difficult prep work and not also have to concentrate on transposing (which is difficult). The two difficult things combined, make things very difficult.

Excellent standard of teaching presented in a friendly accessible style. I’ve tried a lot of online jazz lessons and this is the best. Highly recommended.

I’m looking for repetitive improv patterns. I’m sure they’re in some of the lessons I just haven’t found them yet.

I am absolutely loving Open Studio! I am a classically trained pianist who hadn't played piano in 25 years. Two years ago I bought myself a digital piano. I also purchased a year-long online jazz course with Piano Groove. Unfortunately it turned out to be a great disappointment. The lessons moved too quickly and were hard to follow, and plenty of assumptions were made about what I should already be able to do. I was quite surprised at how difficult it was for someone with my level of piano experience to follow. I paid over $300 and only used it a handful of times. This year I did some more research online and found that Open Studio came highly recommended. I purchased the Jazz Piano Jump-Start for novices and it was the perfect choice. I immediately fell in love with the lesson format, the instructors and the ease of navigation through the lessons. Adam Maness and Peter Martin are excellent teachers who clearly love what they do! Each lesson has a structured warm-up, a bit of ear training, an etude study and some time for free play. I really appreciate the focus on ear training and on proper technique. I never thought I could learn to play piano without sheet music, but in just a few weeks I am already starting to make the transition. I also thought I was too old to memorize, but I am learning that it is still possible at 48. Today I did my first lesson with one of the included backing tracks and had so much fun playing along with the accompaniment. My 21 year old daughter, who has never really heard me play piano before, thought I sounded great! All in all, I highly recommend this course. I live out in the middle of nowhere and never thought I'd be able to find a jazz piano instructor where I am. I am so thankful!

Open Studio is my solace during these frightening and uncertain times. Although there are some good jazz teachers online, nothing compares to OS in terms of systematic approach to practice, multilevel teaching (where almost anyone of any level can find something new to learn in a segment), and fun interplay between the two hosts. I enjoy OS as much for Adam's and Peter's personalities as for what I learn.

HI there Alon. We have a few tools built in to help with that. 1. On your dashboard, the course(s) that you have started will have a button RESUME COURSE. Courses you haven't started yet will say START COURSE. 2. When you resume a course, it will pick up at the section or lesson you left off on. Hope that helps. -Dan @ Open Studio

Feeling very positive about this, already making so much progress. The format and style is effective and easy enough to follow, securing those musical foundations once and for all. It sticks, and it's so much easier to grow from there... thank you for making piano Blues/Jazz so approachable. I can't get enough of my piano practice these days - I'm ecstatic!
