I completely agree with my lifelong friend Mr Lennarts who you gave a shout-out in your last podcast on not-resolutions. The content is great and the chemistry between Peter and Adam results in a lot of happy practising! Cheers, Julius from the Netherlands

I'm only 2 weeks in so it's early days. But, so far, I'm very impressed with my jazz piano jump start course. I like the fact that it is constructed specifically for long term development. The next 6 to 12 months will be significant in demonstrating my development.

I've been an open studio member for about 2 weeks now, and am currently taking the "5-minute ear training" and "jazz piano jump start" classes. This format of instruction has clear advantages over traditional in-person private lessons. I've done a couple of stints studying jazz piano in the past, and, although I always made an audio tape of the lesson, it left me thinking how great it would be to have that audio synced with overhead video of the keyboard. Open Studio checks that box. The guided practice sessions are great at combining a lesson with a practice methodology. Being able to stop and shed during the lesson is also a plus. Thanks for putting this together.

I like Open Studio a lot. I'm a bassist (doubler) trying to get some basic piano skills. I tend to need a lot more physical practice than entry level music theory as I have experience and schooling for that part already. Otherwise, the pace is good for me and I appreciate the deep understanding and experience of Adam and Peter. I also like that, with my Bundle purchase, I can take some bass lessons as well.

I’m an intermediate jazz pianist and all I really needed was some professional direction. Peter Martin is just what I’ve been looking for. Adam Maness is outstanding too. I’ve finally found a home where I can get better. Excellent instructors!

Great courses. I’ll be recommending to anyone interested in studying jazz. The “Jump start Jazz Piano “ has filled in missing knowledge. Thanks.

Peter the new video on Crunchy 4th voicings is fantastic, more of these quick POWERFUL videos!!! If you're a player who wants to get better then this is the place it's that simple! No gimmicks here, just serious playing by Peter, Adam and staff for every level, who dares to take the artistic challenge to speak this exciting language

This is an excellent deal - great musicians, very well designed and well thought through. I'm very happy with the content of the site and working through the Elements of Jazz piano course

I've been following you on Open Studio for months. What made me sign up was a couple of Peter Martin short videos - brief, interesting and to the point. I though, these are the courses for me. Not been disappointed at all... great lessons, quality and to the point, easy to follow, really enjoying Deep Diving around all the courses and applying your advice to my playing. I've only been with you guys (and gals?) a month or so but things are beginning to stick! Keep up the good work!

Can't recommend Open Studio enough! For those who don't have access to in-person instruction or can't afford it regularly (like myself) this is the place to be to make the kind of progress that you're after. Courses are laid our perfectly, easy to follow, and the instructors are the real deal. Great resource!!!!

As it comes to jazz - I have had lessons 20 yr.'s ago. - however, I am learning things now that I didn't get back then and now understand what was told to me 20 years ago. Love the GPS with Adam.

Too overwhelming. The number of lessons that showed on one page was just too much and discouraged me from continuing. Also, reading sheet music extensively to learn is not what I want. I want to learn piano the way a blind person would learn to play even though, I'm not blind. I cannot find anything on the internet about how to teach blind people jazz piano. Please consider bringing someone into Open Studio who teaches blind players and start a course on that.

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to review. We would be happy to go over the best way to get the most from the courses. Sent me an email at support@openstudiojazz.com and we can set a call up. As far as the suggestion for the concept "teaching jazz for the blind", I'll take this to the team. Best, Dan Martin co-founder, Open Studio

The pentatonic course (just finished "Take the Coltrane") is of great help because for me it's the first time that I really know what and how to practice! :-) Nevertheless, I do have a request: As there is no way around practicing it would be extremely helpful to have a nice play-along for the four tunes. Ideally in like three different tempos. It would be great if you could provide this or give me an idea of where to get this to make practicing happy. :-))
