“I first heard of Peter Martin through his podcast channel "2 minute jazz." Then Peter started showing up on YouTube. I appreciated the short, bite-sized tutorials that I could use in my own playing. I decided to try a lesson through Open Studio. What I love about the lessons and what I want to integrate into my own teaching is the combination of video, pdf and Sound Slice, which allows you to see music as it's being played and slow down certain sections you want to hear over and over again.”

“Break up lessons into shorter segments. Walk students through each example. I’m breaking each lesson into 2 or 3 segments. Wouldn’t change the info, that’s excellent.”

“I think that there is too much material and not a real way to practice. I know the Jazz theory but I don know how to develop the language creating fluid and fast Jazz lines, various kind of complex chords and how to harmonize or reharm a melody. Finally my level is stopped to the intermediate, I don’t see improvement. Antonio.”

“Being a classically trained pianist, I have been trying to learn jazz piano on my own without much success. I tried various blogs, youtube channels and books, but it always felt like piece meal without a cohesive plan. “This isn’t an exhaustive review because i’ve only recently started a couple of courses. But I love the relaxed & easy to follow conversational style of the videos (even while discussing quite theoretical subject matter). Enjoy the knowledgeable presenters. The support & community aspect is impressive too. The commitment to music as an art form, to teaching, & to the community of musicians is palpable. Keep up the good work!”
