“With a large family over 60 years of marriage we had a lifetime of buying and selling homes and dealing with real estate agents. Until selling to OpenDoor this year (2021) I never realized that 99% of my stress and anxiety was actually coming from the real estate agents, themselves. I think OpenDoor taught me why: real estate agents (as opposed to OpenDoor employees) are working for huge commissions often doing very little, and even when they do a lot, they cause the client stress because they are relying on so much money from your house sale. I’m assuming since OpenDoor employees are salaried, they are able to treat everyone more equally and without that stress & pressure. From late checkout (leaseback) to quick offers & closing, this was the greatest real estate experience of my life, and I can’t see why anyone would use an agent again. OpenDoor takes their fee, but it’s the same % an agent takes, and the repair fee is fair and honest. I see why this stock is soaring. I think it’s the way of the future. People who are salaried and working in a balanced way - not strong-arming you to make sure they get their commissions. They also never left me hanging with worries and replied to my emails immediately. Thank you, OpenDoor.”

“I chose to use Opendoor for the second time. The process is easy and the staff are always available to answer questions. The website is easy to follow and they are very flexible with the option of late checkout which I ended up needing due to a construction delay.”

“My wife and I engaged Opendoor to potentially buy our home. The intial offer (provided on 10/29) was very close to the estimates from both Realtor.com (Opendoor was within 10%) and Zillow.com (within 1 percent) -- I understand those are estimates, not offers -- but that should set ballpark expectations. No issues there... We had the virtual walkthrough on 11/4, no red flags. Received the "final" offer on 11/8 -- the offer had dropped 30 (THIRTY) percent, with absolutely no justification. Minimal repair costs were noted, and much less closing cost that I had expected. The average home price, in Missouri, has increased 30 percent since we purchased our home -- but somehow, Opendoor only values this property at a 5% increase. Any justification provided as to the rationale for the precipitous drop should have been determined prior to the intial offer being made (it is all public information). Obviously, we will not be using Opendoor”

“Don't buy a home from OpenDoor. They are extremely difficult to work with. In addition, their version of "make ready" leaves a lot to be desired. These idiots removed every blind from the house, took off the plug and switch covers, Spray-painted INSIDE the gang boxes, only replaced half the covers, painted over wall paper after spraying a terribly uneven orange peel texture over it and the rest of the walls, got paint splatters all over they didn't clean up and neglected to disclose many areas of hidden damage that it turns out they had to know about. All the functional repairs they are supposed to make weren't done except for the roof. The people they hired to fix the roof destroyed the gate and a section of fence and they still refuse to repair the damage. Absolutely will never work with them again, from either side of the equation.”

“Amazing! From beginning to end it was so easy! The offer we received was very generous and so fast. I really appreciate my customer experience manager too. Every question was answered right away, they even uploaded our pics for us when we only had pdf's. I will only use open door from now on. Thank you for everything~!”

“DO NOT USE this company, I was seriously considering using Opendoor to sell/buy a new home, but I definitely will NOT use them now, My son is buying and selling his house through Open Door and it has been nothing but STRESSFUL for him, they found their house at the end of August, all offers etc were accepted. He expected then to be closing and moving by October, in October they told him it would not be until November 12th, the end of October he received a call that everything would be a go for November 8th to close on his house now and November 12th closing on the house they are moving to. Today just 1 week before they are to close, his wife received a call stating they cannot close on the 12th. WHAT???? they said the appraisal has not been done, Are you kidding me, this company has had over 2 months to do an appraisal on the new home and they have not done it??? And the guy just called last week saying everything was good to go. I myself along with several others have taken days off work to help him move on the 12th, and now OpenDoor is messing with him yet again over this transaction. So now a week before he is to close on his new home and having to be out of his old home by the 15th, they are telling him he probably wont close until the 22nd. What is opendoor trying to pull? are they just screwing him out of his old home? I'm thinking maybe an attorney friend should get involved. I will DEFINITELY NOT use Opendoor for ANYTHING and I will tell everyone I know NOT to use them either. How awful to become homeless because of a shifty company. If this is not resolved and my son does not have a new home to move into, we will be reporting to the BBB and be hiring an attorney to sue them. They have one week to get their stuff together and close on that house on time. To me this is a breach of contract. NO WAY will I be selling or buying a house through Opendoor, I am too old to have this kind of stress in my life........Please anyone reading this, if you know what is good for you, DO NOT believe anything they say, DO NOT use this company to sell or buy your home.”

“Opendoor & Alex were one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. It took many phone calls, texts, emails and property appointments for them to say we will not be extending an offer because your house needs repairs. THERE ADVERTISEMENT: no showings, don't worry about repairs and get an instant offer is a lie. What a complete farce and waste of time. Do yourself a favor and just find a good realtor. CAUTION!!!”
