“Having had laser eye surgery has improved my life no end, having clear vision all day every day no matter what I am doing is amazing. I have found the process extremely well organised and have felt comfortable even after experiencing minor difficulties (which have been corrected). The staff are excellent and have put me at ease the whole way through.”

“The procedure itself was a bit scary and I was really nervous. I experienced incredible discomfort for about 4 hours afterwards, but then it went away. For the first two weeks I had blurry vision in my right eye and my eyes felt gritty. But after two and a half weeks everything was clear and my eyes felt much better.”

“I dont believe I was told in detail that I would need reading glasses immediately after surgery. I understood that as I got older my reading prescription would deteriorate but as I had perfect reading I was expecting this to happen in the future not immediately. Following surgery my reading prescription was terrible - I couldn't see in the mirror, read, cook or do my job. I am a personal assistant and need to read for 7 hours a day. This wasn't explained to me. I think because of my job someone should have explained that I would be wearing glasses more than before surgery. I feel I have swapped one problem for another but at an huge expense. I am pleased with how I can see distance wise but really thought I would have both reading and distance. I know people who had worse vision than I and can see perfectly now. I thought I would be the same.”

“HAve been thinking about getting my eyes lasered for about 20 years, only plucked up the courage as friends had had theirs done in the last few years with OPtical Express and had great outcomes. Really pleased I had mine done, just wish I'd been brave enough to do it earlier!”

“from the consultation through to the check ups after surgery I was treated well, everyone was very friendly and any questions i had were answered thouroughly. “Feel very happy through my experience with optical express. was a bit nervous at first but so happy i had it done. the first week after the surgery has hard for me. but once my eyes heeled i was over the moon with my vision. would recommend anyone to have it done. staff were very friendly and helpful. thanks alot!!”

“So it has been 48 hours since my Lasik eye surgery. I can see perfectly clear. I went the next day for my check up to see if everything was healing properly and was told I had better than 20/20 vision.. It hadn't even been 24 hours since the surgery! How amazing is that! Before I had the surgery, the surgeon asked me about the clock on the wall. I couldn't even tell there was a clock on the wall, that's how bad my eye sight was. (-6.00 in right eye and -7.00 in right.) Immediately after the surgery he asked me once more about the clock. I could see the clock and even see what time it was. It was amazing and surreal that 15 minutes changed my entire life. I walked out of the room, glasses in my hand and a massive smile on my face. The procedure set me back ?3,500 roughly. It is the best money I have ever spent in my life. It cost a lot for me because my eyesight WAS so bad. So the only thing I could feel was them putting eye drops in (the eye drops make your eyes numb) then I felt quite a lot of pressure (I'm being honest here) which was when they were putting the eyelid separator on in my eye to prevent me from blinking. From then on I felt nothing. The surgical team told me what they were doing every step of the way, from putting drops in, to creating the corneal flap (everything goes dark for about 5 seconds), to letting the laser do it's work. They made me at ease and made me comfortable. About 15 minutes after I had left the surgery suite I started to feel stinging in my eyes which lasted about 1/2 hours. I took some Nurofen Express to head it off at the past and after 2 hours I felt no pain at all, and haven't since that moment. All I feel now is really dry eyes from time to time which is prevented by using regular drops (3 different types) that Optical Express provide you with which are for anti-inflammatory, anti-infection and one for dry eyes. I cannot say thank you enough to Optical Express right from the get go. Thank you thank you thank you!! (Ps; it was so good, even my sister has booked to have it done in a months time!!) Don't be scared, you won't feel a thing, I promise you that!”

“I have had glasses or contacts since I was 11 years old and I'm sure my eyesight was weak for years before that. I am now able to see at least as well if not better than I could when wearing glasses or contacts but without the hassle! I am looking forward to going swimming this summer for the first time in over 20 years without having to worry about glasses or contacts.”

“before surgery i did not appreciate the little things like seeing people/objects from the corner of my eye - i had to move my head to see them clearly. It was well worth the time and money to get laser eye surgery done as my overall quality of life has improved and has also given me more confidence as i am now glasses free.”
