“So it has been 48 hours since my Lasik eye surgery. I can see perfectly clear. I went the next day for my check up to see if everything was healing properly and was told I had better than 20/20 vision.. It hadn't even been 24 hours since the surgery! How amazing is that! Before I had the surgery, the surgeon asked me about the clock on the wall. I couldn't even tell there was a clock on the wall, that's how bad my eye sight was. (-6.00 in right eye and -7.00 in right.) Immediately after the surgery he asked me once more about the clock. I could see the clock and even see what time it was. It was amazing and surreal that 15 minutes changed my entire life. I walked out of the room, glasses in my hand and a massive smile on my face. The procedure set me back ?3,500 roughly. It is the best money I have ever spent in my life. It cost a lot for me because my eyesight WAS so bad. So the only thing I could feel was them putting eye drops in (the eye drops make your eyes numb) then I felt quite a lot of pressure (I'm being honest here) which was when they were putting the eyelid separator on in my eye to prevent me from blinking. From then on I felt nothing. The surgical team told me what they were doing every step of the way, from putting drops in, to creating the corneal flap (everything goes dark for about 5 seconds), to letting the laser do it's work. They made me at ease and made me comfortable. About 15 minutes after I had left the surgery suite I started to feel stinging in my eyes which lasted about 1/2 hours. I took some Nurofen Express to head it off at the past and after 2 hours I felt no pain at all, and haven't since that moment. All I feel now is really dry eyes from time to time which is prevented by using regular drops (3 different types) that Optical Express provide you with which are for anti-inflammatory, anti-infection and one for dry eyes. I cannot say thank you enough to Optical Express right from the get go. Thank you thank you thank you!! (Ps; it was so good, even my sister has booked to have it done in a months time!!) Don't be scared, you won't feel a thing, I promise you that!”

“Absolutely fantastic - highly reccommended. All the staff have always been efficient and helpful. The surgeon had a great sense of humour and all my questions were fully answered, even at scientific levels when requested. The results a phenominal at 20/12 with perfect healing after a month. The comfort is so much better than contact lenses and much more natural for doing both close and distant work. The finer details of the world are much clearer!”

“Very happy with the consultation and the price I got, obviously its expensive but still not bad! Very nervous about the procedure, although not painful at all it is a little uncomfortable. Incredibly happy with the aftercare and the team here at Optical Express Cambridge!”

“I got the jitters on the morning of the operation when I went through the 'what can go wrong sheet' and nearly left. Fortunately I stayed. The operation itself is not particularly pleasant but it is short and the staff were very reassuring. My eyes were grainy and difficult to keep open post operation. After a couple of hours it became painful like strong soap had been dropped in my eyes. Ibuprofen sorted this. I retired to bed with goggles on for the rest of the day and listened to music. The next morning I awoke, no discomfort, removed my goggles and reached for my glasses as I have done for as many years as I can remember. They were not there! I then noticed I could read the title and artist of a picture on the wall of the bathroom about 15 feet away which I had never noticed and would never have been able to read prior to the operation. Eyesight was 6/5 when tested the day after op and I drove my wife home as I had better eyesight than her! Wearing goggles and not showering properly for a week was a pain but I could not really be any happier with the results after the first 4 weeks. Every day I notice things that I have not seen properly for 40 years!”

“very happy with service the whole way through from first eye test to teh after care. I have been well looked after and made to feel very confident with the whole procedure. the staff at the swindon and cabot branch were lovely and of needed would defo have done again and would defo recommend”

“The service and staff at Optical Express has been excellent. All of my questions have been answered and explained clearly. The staff are friendly and well informed and lens replacement surgery has provided me with greater than 2020 vision. Far better than the varifocal contact lenses I was wearing prior to the surgery. The surgery was not painful but the results are fantastic.”

“I am so happy that I took the plunge and had laser eye surgery. All the staff who I've met have been so helpful, and really put your mind at ease. The only pain I experienced lasted for about an hour and a half after the surgery and since then my eyes have felt very comfortable. It is the best thing I have ever done!”

“Found it hard wearing glasses at work so after having laser surgery its ten times better as i have to look at drawings and paper work on a work shop floor where safty specs are needed.”
