We recently moved into a house which was provided electricity by Opus. After sending several correspondence to let them know I had moved in, I eventually buckled and called their PREMIUM RATE number, their automated messaging system informed me my wait would only be 2 minutes, it felt misleading when it saidit, 30 minutes later a sleepy voice answered the call. During my wait I had decided to read their reviews and was instantly put off the idea of doing anymore business with them. The date of the call was the 4th of Feb, I informed the sleepy voice that I was the new owner and he told me the change of tenancy would take 10 days and once complete I could change provider. After 10 days I called again to chase up change of tenancy because changing provider was objected to by Opus. I was informed that the change had not been processed yet and to check in a few days. I finally was able to change toward the end of February, I never received any confirmation of the change and once again had to call them. Opus sent out two bills during March, one for £217.19 and the final for £162.20. For two months service Opus has charged a total of £379.39. This is because as they state we are on deemed rates but we were only on them for this long because of their slow processing time, they didn't respond to any correspondence in the first place and it took them the best part of a month to process a change of ownership. This is their business model by the looks of it, rip people off for as much as possible if they try to leave. I'm glad I didn't have a contract with them because from the look of the reviews they become even more unscrupulous. I've paid up now and will steer clear of this company for as long as they exist.

I own business premises where the tenants pay for usage with 95 p per day standing charge. They persecute me to pay other people’s bills. and let their equally evil debt collectors loose. Now on second set. I have lost count of the number of times I have said I am not liable but ignored. DO NOT USE THEM

I was most happy when Opus allowed me to leave their fraudulent error riddled and evil company.My wife became hysterical if i mentioned their name.I was scammed into joining them by King Energy Solutions.I never ever signed up to Opus but only managed to leave after Olympic efforts by myself.Hindsight is wonderfull,why would I join a company rated 70th worst(out of 70?).Don’t join them,stay happy.

Worst energy company ever! Stay well clear they have unlawfully disconnected my supply twice in 6 years. I am currently embroiled in protracted litigation with them. They have redacted and destroyed data, double billed and credited my account with circa £36,000.00, despite this, they claim they have not done anything wrong!! They are imbecilic I have sued them for circa £100.000.00 and will be instigating criminal proceedings against them too for breaching the Data Protection Act of 2018. If you need assistance in exposing these incompetent, unscrupulous, and scoundrels who regularly embark in unethical conduct and skulduggery. Their Defended Case Handler has admitted on court record that they have destroyed and/or deleted documents which I sought to evidence and rely on. To destroying and/or amending of data to prevent its disclosure is a criminal offence under the Data Protection Act 2018 and this I’m taking them to court for criminality. They don’t have a clue, don’t be bullied into paying and/or told that you have to stay with them. You can legally get out of contract if the terms of the contract have been broken. Opus Energy break their own terms and conditions and repeatedly, breach the Electricity Supply Code. Don’t pay them I will help you to challenge inaccurate and incorrect billing. John o Stay clear bad company Load of idiots Still not sorted my first meter read when I went with them Back in November 2019 Glad I have now got another supplier Sent them hundreds of emails takes weeks to reply

I thought scottish power were bad with 5 missed appointments But at least I got £250 compo. Opus are terrible they did not believe my meter readings. I had bills 3 times more than the amount. I had to ring up about 5 times . They would not send out a meter reader . I gave them mine I even sent a photo of the meter reading. Rubbish people on the end of their phone Rip off out of contract .So disappointed. STEAR CLEAR , use anyone except them. WARN OTHERS

Dreadful to deal with, shocking service, underhand escalator for fixed price contracts, huge billing issues, payment processing issues. The worst utility supplier ever, use anyone but Opus.

‼️Stay well clear of this company‼️ Been with them 12 years always found them ok until after lock down I get a huge bill due too being estimated before lock down.. (so they say, ) so after returning to my small beauty salon & not making much money I was I was trying to resolve the issue I paid £500 towards the bill then Couldn’t get through to anyone No one contacted me about the complaint I had taken up Then to reopen today again after the second lock down to be greeted by a vile man from Opus (no mask and no social distances from anyone) and they DISCONNECTED the supply without me trying to discuss this with Opus I had a salon with clients and fully booked tomorrow and Friday for the first time in months Now Iv had to borrow from family £1500 to be reconnected & to be told they don’t even know when this will be so Iv spent all day cancelling clients I will now be making no money this week It’s made me ill I am seeking legal advice Shocking service can’t wait to leave !!!!

I mean I probably don't even need to contribute after seeing the absolutely shocking reviews you've already got. But I'm not even a customer and you've tried treating me like a c*** Have never and will never use you. Literally sounds like a scam/cowboy company. "Tom from Glasgow" deserves the sack, rude little rat. I'll be sending round the call recording to all known customers of yours. Have a great day, cheers for ruining mine :)

Dangerous company.It has instructed ACS,a debt recovery company to get me to pay over £1800plus for electricity used AFTER I left them on June 22,2020,Non payment equals disconnection,they say.I have paid my new cheaper Supplier about £850 for electricity used to date.It has been worse.To date I have been sent 10 plus bills ranging from £450 to £2800 AFTER leaving OPUS.The Ombudsman has been most helpful.I am asking for £600 compensation for the distress it has caused my wife.I-will us it to plant trees on our small farm.Avoid this Company,it will seriously damage your mental health and sanity.

Avoid !!!!!!!! Opus energy is the baddest energy supplies I have ever seen they staffs are so rude are not professional . After so many time calling and waiting for so many hours they keep disconnected the phone on purpose. Never ever give them your bank details or your phone number they will calling you and bother you they never listen to you or resolve your matter.

Opus don't even worth one star. Most appalling energy supplier on this planet. Save yourself plenty of money by stay away from them. Most disgusting company. The sooner that place shut down the better.a lots of small business already struggling to survive without these horrendous unfair charges.

Possibly the only energy company that doesn't want to give a payment plan for a hospitality business and threaten with disconnection. Got all legal letters this morning. No one to talk to after being on hold for over an hour. Make sure, you dont sign up with these guys as I got 5 other sites with Npower and EDF who are more than happy to work together to come out this difficult times.

They should not have a licence, stay away from them I paid thousands £ to them They was charging me triple than other companies, i couldn't cancel the contract, they were not letting me They should be banned everywhere

Do not use this company and do not phone them premium rate number only been with them 8 weeks insist my bill is £650 only had 6 strip lights switched on 25 hours per week

We were informed today that they won't be renewing our fixed term business tariff, due to the fact that we don't use enough energy!!! We could of course go onto the monthly variable tariff at a huge increase in price..... In these days of environmental awareness and global warming, we have as a small business been keen to be green... Obviously Opus do not agree with this mantra, as we need to be burning fuel 24/7, and at a rate of knots, to be allowed to patronise their service.... Unbelievable. Almost as unbelievable as the trite, corporate email they sent to explain why my business is no longer welcome.... And yes, we've always paid our bills via direct debit before it's assumed we were debtors!!!!

The worst company I have ever dealt with. They overcharged me for 2 years and refused to resolve the matter. When they finally replaced the meter my usage went from 18kWh/day to 2kWh. Disgraceful. AVOID
