I wouldn’t give 1 star but that’s the minimum on this useless company. I’m hardly at home and consume very little energy but I received bills from OVO stating nothing to pay during the period of the government heating grants only to be told by OVO I owed them over £1100 for 5 months energy supply. After many attempts to contact them and find someone who understood what I was telling them it took a further 5 months for them to try and resolve the issue. During this time they told me the account was on hold until the matter had been resolved until they then sent an email telling them I now owed them £1500 or they would be sending bailiffs round to my home. Things are still ongoing. This company is purely incompetent

I have renovated my flat and installed a gas boiler. OVO Customer Service's waiting time to install a gas smart meter was approximately 4-5 months. Now you need to explain how I can wait 4-5 months in winter for heating and hot water. I decided to call them again and provide fewer details but specify that it was an emergency and that I needed gas supplied to my flat ASAP; this time, they raised an emergency and offered to create a gas account in 3 working days and send an engineer in 17 working days, so basically a month without heating or hot water; how this could be legal or acceptable. It is winter, and there are four degrees out there, and this company leaves customers without hot water and heating. Unacceptable.

Closed my account with OVO December 2023.I have been informed that my account is marked clear and closedAll of a sudden (February 2024) I get letters,not bills,stating there is £18.20 outstanding.But NOT with my old account number on and addressed with my name but with no house number just the name of the Court where I live.The postman knows my name hence me getting them.Several phone calls later and I am no further forward.I refuse to pay this as Ino one can tell me where the outstanding amount has come from.THEY DON¬T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING>

DO NOT HIRE OVO - TOTAL SCAM AND ABUSIVE CHARGES! We used to have a pay as you go (top up) system from Boost but we were forced to change for a smart meter with Ovo because the system wasn’t working and they couldn’t fix it. We spent 3 days talking to Ovo and Boost to get this fixed, dozens of hours on the phone with horrible customer service. Now that the meter has been changed, we have been receiving ridiculously high energy bills, over £300 per month for a 2-bed apartment in Southampton. At one point, our monthly electricity bill went up to £700 per month and when we contacted Ovo, they said everything was normal. We had to insist a lot over the phone for them to recognise something had gone wrong. Our normal bills are still £300 per month, which is still ridiculously high, especially given that we barely use the heaters. It is IMPOSSIBLE to reach Ovo without spending multiple hours on the chat or on the phone. And every time we bring up the issue that we believe we are being charged too much, they either shut down the chat, or they keep transferring us to other departments until they’re closing time. Every time we manage to reach them, they ask us to run the same tests which takes a lot of time, and they keep leading us on until they close, after which they stop replying and the chat is lost. At one point, a Boost employee even recognised that something might be wrong, but right after, the chat was suddenly shut down, AGAIN. We do not agree with what we are being charged, and it is virtually impossible to get hold of them. We want to change providers and discuss these ridiculously high charges. We have also hired a lawyer to file a lawsuit against Ovo if they do not remove these aggressive charges (and we will be charging for the countless hours spent trying to reach them). DO NOT HIRE OVO! TOTAL SCAM!

Disgusted with Ovo but now seeing all the recent reviews I can see why. They have hone downhill really quickly. I contacted them in December as I thought my meter was not right. All of a sudden high bills, then I was told I was owed money which they paid back. I thought great for the xmas. They also said they had 2 accounts for me. I then picked up am email recently to say I owe them money. What they paid me in December they now want back. They were offering me £50 and then £100 as a gesture after admitting they made a mistake and that the money they paid was incorrect and there was a fault with my meter. I spent half the day with them complaining. I am now waiting for the matter to be resolved so I can leave. I have noticed my bills have doubled since Xmas for some reason. I now want out. Absolute joke.

Genuinely a terrible company to work with, they overcharge and even at times double charge you. Their customer service agents remain polite but they aren't able to help in any way aside from making things difficult and harder for you. If you are with them please change, they are horrible. Harassed for 6 months for a payment I'd made and provided evidence I'd paid.

Calling ovo is like stepping into a dystopian world where whatever you do or say is treated with ignorance and condescension. Problems are never solved. People never listen. Money is charged for nothing. Bills are changed all the time for no reason. This company is hell. Please - don’t ever use them.

OVO are chasing me for an amount of £58 which was final payment with this Company This amount was paid by me by cheque on the 5th February and cleared by my Bank on the 15th February 2024. This information has been conveyed to OVO on two occasions and also to the Debt Collection Company and yet I received yet again a demand for payment. I am 85 years of age and am upset over this harrassment . Thank goodness I decided to switch ROB WOTTON Flat 33 Leonard Hackett Court BH2 6PR

never been a customer with this company and trying to bill us for it and we are british gas customers we have expalined to them but they keep putting the phone down on us so we gave them the tennats details and still expect us to ring them , staff are no polite and i would never recommend to even think about using this company

Absolutely rubbish customer service they have stolen my warm home discount money I still haven’t received it yet I put in a official complaint to the department and I still haven’t receive any calls back from them whatsoever that was in January I would avoid this energy company They will rob you blind

Terrible company, called many times in the past regarding payments etc… receive a different answer every time. Staff seem like they are reading a script and have no idea what to do to help customers. Every time I call up there is no consistency in answers, they say that each member of their staff is wrong and that I should listen to them only?!? Honestly such a shambles

Told by ovo that broken electric meter is not their problem - no electricity since Thursday, so what we supposed to do now? They say Northern power grid should sort it out but they only deal with stuff outside the property. Local councilor was told by ovo they don't work weekends, and no overnight cover in the week Don't even consider using ovo there's no one there when something goes wrong - no heating, no lights, no hot drinks, no hot food, gas central heating doesn't work without electric for the pump. Anyone got any ideas?

Never heard so much flannel from the ceo of ovo you conning loads of people from you previous appointed jobs Mr bhati you should resign and the founder of ovo should relenquish all rights and close the business and be honest about the tax havens you use to off set your money from your other business imagination industries your a con man taking advantage of the poor your a horrible man only thinking about yourself and no one else your a charlitan and a liar (my opinion)

Unbelievably inefficient. They keep sending estimates, even though I send readings, they put the price up 400% without warning. I'm trying to move to another provider but cannot get a final bill.

Halelujah ! At last , after the most awful miserable stressful experience we have left this awful crooked company. We were transferred by SSE ,no choice, we had nothing but rip off bills. We submitted a reading each month on their designated day and yet still had an estimated bill. No amount of phone calls or letters would change the amounts and always more than we used. It went on for 18 months trying to sort it out, we were abroad for three weeks in May 23 yet apparently we owed £255. if we didnt pay they would send bailiffs to the door. Everything except the fridge freezer was switched off. We paid , never got the money back even on our final bill we owed them money we were overpaying always. Avoid this company .Do not even risk it. They will be investigated down the line, for certain. do not touch them with a bargepole!

Terrible customer service, they don't know what they're talking about, don't know what they are doing, every time you ring you get a different answer, hours of time wasted on phone or their online chats, I wouldn't give them a one star. Avoid at all costs, they are bare faced liars promising delivery of a card the next day, to be told on the next day we can't do that, the card arrived over a week later, no gas because of it. No apologies absolutely shocking, they need to be gone, I'm a calm person but even I ended up shouting down the phone to them as they don't listen!!!!!! I've reported them to ofgem, the stress they have caused is unacceptable.
