Back as a customer after several years away (website changed quite a bit but soon worked out how to get what I wanted). Great build options and quick assembly, testing and despatch. Arrived the next day after despatch - even the delivery went smoothly! New machine up and running quickly - a fair amount of messing around to transfer all my photos, music etc across.... but that's my fault not theirs. Hopefully this PC will last me a good while before I need to upgrade again!

I bought a Gemini 14.1" Intel® Celeron® Quad Core Processor N4120 with 4GB RAM laptop for only £230. Amazing for the price, just what I need. I have a high-end VPS that does all my heavy lifting, so I need a basic laptop to connect to it at home. This model is light, thin, easy to carry and pretty. A few things to note that the instructions/support don't tell you: 1. The instructions tell you to go to the downloads area in your account on the PC Specialist website and download everything there, which was a tonne of stuff, but after downloading it all and getting confused about how to install all of it I was told that if the Windows operating system is included in the spec you don't need any of these. But I wasn't told that I needed to go to Intel online and download and install the latest drivers from them. I discovered that bit of advice somewhere in the forum when I was searching for a solution for the Bluetooth which wasn't finding my headphones. After downloading stuff from Intel, it was fixed. 2. Nothing tells you about the different ports on the laptop. Through trial and error, I discovered that the AC connector goes into the hole the furthest back on the right (not the largest hole as suggested by one of the support team). The AC connector can fit into either of the two holes on the right, so it's not obvious. I asked about how to know if the battery was charging while the laptop lid was closed, the support person didn't know about this. But there is a green light directly on the opposite side of the laptop to the AC port which lights up if you are plugged in. This would have been helpful to have in the instructions. 3. There are three blue lights above the keyboard to the left, and it's pretty difficult to tell what they mean. So from trial and error here it is: a) Furthest left is the power light which tells if the laptop is already powered on, useful to know when you've closed the laptop lid and then later opened it. If the light is on you don't need to use the power key to turn it on, you just need to press any of the other keys on the keyboard and wait for the screen to wake up. b) The middle light is to tell you if your caps lock is on. c) The light furthest right tells you if your symbol key is on or off. It should normally be off so you can type normally. But if you want the small numbers/symbols at the top right of each key, you need to press Fn + NumLk and that light will go on, telling you that all your typing will give you whatever is on the top right of the key instead of the main letter/number/symbol. To remove it just press Fn+NumLk again and the light will go out and you can use the keyboard as normal. This is the opposite of what the support person told me was the case. 4. The mouse track is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. If I'm just moving my mouse to another part of the page it might suddenly magnify the page as in a swipe, and then I have to figure out how to get the page back to the normal magnification. Or it might select something you had no desire to select. On the other hand, often when you do want to click on something, a double finger tap on the mouse won't register, so you have to purposely click down on the mouse. When you click down, being just a little on the right or left is sometimes not good enough, you have to be at the extreme right or left to get the desired effect. So this is frustrating. 5. The keys on the keyboard get immediately greasy once you've touched them, and look a mess immediately. That's the same with the case. So I intend to use some nice fablon to cover the outside of my case, but I can't do much with the inside. 6. The screen is one of those glossy reflective screens which are really bad for your eyes and can give you a headache. I previously bought a laptop from PC Specialist which came with a matte screen and that was lovely. Really there is no need for glossy reflective screens at all. I got a blue light/UV light blocking matte screen protector, so I could fit that on and now it's great. But would be nice if the screen came like that in the first place as it's common knowledge how bad blue light/UV light is for our eyes and our brains. So it would be good to have this as standard. Apart from the above, I love the lightness and speed of this laptop. I found the customer service exceptional, which is why this is my third time buying a PC/laptop from PC Specialist, and I wouldn't buy a computer from anyone else. You get responses fast, either by email or phone and the support people go to lengths to help you. I got my power cable replaced immediately when the connection wasn't too good. All done without any fuss. I got support advisors helping me identify things on the laptop by asking me to send pictures of each issue, so they could tell me their best advice. So I had a lot of interactions, and I can say all of the advisors were lovely, thoughtful and good at communicating. I have a lot of confidence in PC Specialist because both the previous laptop and PC that I have bought from them were robust and durable, and their support is great.

This was the first pc i've bought in over a decade and a lot has changed in that time. Pc specialist team members I talked to were well informed and patient with my requests for information. They offered sound advice and have been prompt in my subsequent requests for support after I received the pc. The computer is excellent and running without issue. It's my wetware that's out of date. Even so, they remain helpful and patient with the bottleneck that is my brain. Not sure where to upgrade that burnt out old thing.

The shopping experience was really straightforward given the clear and easy to use website, so I was already impressed. However, it was the customer experience afterwards that made me rate PC specialist so highly. The speed they built the PC was fantastic, but it was the regular updates on the processing of the order that I appreciated. Every step was communicated and I was even sent a cool 3D image of my completed build once it was done. I cannot recommend highly enough!

A very easy company to deal with, I was kept well informed about the build process, testing and delivery. The pc was a custom build after a discussion with a well informed advisor with the exception that I was not told that SSD I was required to include in the order was an NVMe drive. Had I known that I would have ordered a bigger one to accommodate my Linux OS. Apart from that I am very satisfied with build quality, the performance and the virtually silent pc that I now have.

Build was not cosmetically quite what i asked for or expected but the helpfulness, professionalism and updates from all the staff involved was outstanding. The PC is a beast

Swift assembly and on-time delivery, despite me requesting a change to my order after submitting it. The customer service agent who facilitated that change was very helpful and saved me some money by removing components which were no longer necessary. The PC arrived intact, works excellently, and overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Really liked: The ordering process. The updates when built and tested. The delivery updates Unhappy with spending so much money on this: When it was faulty on arrival. Having to wait 3 days for replacements parts. Having to fix to test and fix the parts myself.

Suparb! The entire process was quick and easy and I had been updated at every step of the way of the assembly process alongside the delivery. The site is easy enough to access and all of the extra items that I had bought were delivered in the same box as the actual PC tower itself. I had even accidentally put the wrong email in the site and just simply emailing the provided email and asking for it to be changed was all that was needed. An amazing experience and I most definitely recommend.

I was looking at other laptops of the same specs but were twice as expensive and they always had some issues. I am studying architecture so having a pretty powerful laptop for on the go without busting my bank has been very sweet. Its worked so smooth when I've used demanding software, and i loved that I was able to chose all the specs that I needed. Delivery was very smooth as well, kept me updated throughout the process and also came in effective packaging!

I accidentally ordered a laptop with a screen too small, so I immediately returned the laptop and my refund was processed really quickly and by a lovely person. They offered to do a refund (minus the cost of collecting) or to put the money against a replacement, and they would give me fast-track delivery and a gold warranty. I thought this was very kind and the new laptop arrived super quickly, so I'm very grateful.

The process was overall simple and quick for it to arrive to me, the PC parts all had a good competitive price, the packaging for shipping is top tier with no scratches or loose components on the PC. However I would suggest using the Gaming Ready Driver for Nvidia instead of the Studio Driver on the new Nvidia App rather than Geforce Experience, for better optimisation from the get go. :)
