“I ordered a suction based grab rail for the shower from the online shop as we have elderly visitors coming to stay. The product arrived promptly and seemed to be in good order on inspection. When I carried it from the hallway to the bathroom to prepare for installation I placed it on a flat surface but thennoticed that a piece of the suction cup had become dislodged and the spring and internal mechanism had come out . I put the pieces back in as per the other side of the unit and followed the instructions for installation. The device would not attach to any surface - tile or wall - when eventually suction was achieved the rail fell off the surface after 5 minutes. This is extremely dangerous - if an elderly person had tried to use this rail in a wet shower with this flimsy attachment there could have been a very bad accident. I am very disappointed in this product and would hesitate to shop with your company again. This was my original review when I received the faulty product. However, the follow up customer service was impressive. I received a personal phone call from Chris Phelan and he assured me that the product had been withdrawn from all of the shops and also that he had contacted the manufacturer to alert them to the fact that the grab rail is not safe. This was very important to me as I wouldn't like to think of an elderly person having an accident. I also received a full refund very promptly. This was an unfortunate event but I feel that Phelans Pharmacy are an honourable and reliable company and I would like to retract my statement that I made in the previous review that I would not use the company again . Ten out of ten for customer care”

Hi Alison, I'm very sorry again for the unacceptable quality issue with your recent purchase. As I mentioned on the phone, the product line has been removed from our store pending full investigation by the manufacturer. We always want to be able to stand over the products that we sell, and in this case we have fallen short.
