“The backbone hardware is amazing easily the best controller on the market. Super comfortable, high quality triggers and buttons, very sturdy and durable both the actual controller itself and the hinge that keeps your phone on it. Never felt like it was gonna break if I accidently extended it too far. The Backbone app is incredible. Perfect UI design that is literally console quality, I was actually shocked on how good it is, responsiveness, ui layout, ease of access, sound design, even the social features. It's above and beyond what you'd expect. The only problem with this is the $40 a year membership for the app. I understand these things cost money but it's not fair to expect $40 a yr for this when PSN/XBL gives you WAY more value for $60. You don't need this to play online, nor are you getting any free games. As cool as the app is, there's nothing it can offer to justify that price tag. I would literally rather pay $100 for a lifetime access then $40 a year. This doesn't need a subscription service. The social aspect is so niche and gimmicky that it doesn't add to the value, although it's nice to have, if it was a FREE service this would benefit so much more. Would I recommend? Hell yes this is THE definitive controller. The only thing keeping it back is the yearly subscription that is unnecessary. Add a lifetime option and I'm in. It just doesn't feel like it's worth a subscription, but it's definitely too good of a service to be completely free.”

“Not sure if there’s certain settings that i’ve missed but the brightness and imaging quality is a little darker from my phone. Other than that no issues what so ever.”

“This accessory is amazing!! Genuinely the most perfect accessory for a gamer on the go! I’ve been playing games on my PS5 including God Of War Ragnarok and Gotham Knights and I even got into Mobile games like COD mobile and Apex Mobile! I love this so much!”

“Feel if the controller is nice. Worked great for streaming Xbox Series X or playing games locally on the iPhone. The subscription service, Backbone +, does not appear to be a good value but is not required to use the device as a controller.”

“I got the new iPhone 14 pro and plug it in to my backbone one and see it wasn’t quite working very well. As I’m going through the app I get an email for a free adapter because the cameras make the phone pop out on the controller. I’m like hell yeah a free adapter! Since I didn’t know about it, was a pleasant surprise. Thanks again!”

“The product works well overall and is a nice controller. There are two things I don’t like about it. First, I have to remove my phone from the case to use it. This makes me really consider returning it. I don’t have a thick case, but really any case causes it not to fit. Second, some features are hidden behind a monthly subscription. It seems crazy to pay a subscription for a game controller.”

“Backbone One enables me to play mobile and PC games without the hassle of finding a place to set up my tablet and controller. It is a comfortable fit in my hands and snugly secures my phone. Unfortunately, I discovered only 18 days after purchase, that the triggers are fragile and one had broken. I left a review (https://www.amazon.com/review/R3SCHYAUI339CY/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm) specifying my issue, but I did not receive compensation and had to purchase a second device.”

“The controller it’s self is great. It literally turns your phone into a console right! things I reckon id probably change… This SHOULD, be compatible with cases. (Perhaps make the tip of the lightning plug a little longer, then if people want to use it without a case you could make a rubber adapter similar to the opposite side or maybe a port you can adjust the length of with a slider. Could help with design ideas if you get in touch with me) It’s too risky using a £1000 phone without a case Also for longevity purposes you guys should probably look into making it so the lightning plug has some free play or is perhaps the side with the plug is on a joint. Because I feel that the lightning port won’t last long. Also think it would be worth while to integrate a battery so that play sessions can be longer. This would mean car journeys wouldn’t dent your battery life too much because it’s charging your phone as you play rather than draining it I’ll be completely and utterly honest the execution of this is great. The price…. Not so much. £100 for something like this is too much. If it included things mentioned above this would be worth it. And it’s be the greatest mobile phone accessory of all time. But for now it’s an emerging market and difficult to get everything right This is as honest and straight forward as a review gets”
