“Well built controller. Feels very sturdy compared to other products on the market. I do not particularly care for locking controller compatibly behind a pay wall. The other stuff is understandable but not the controller functionality. I already know the rebuttal. “We give you a free year of Backbone+” So it looks like I have a year to find another controller that is not going to charge me so it can use it…”

“I Love how comfortable this feels in your hands. I do think the analogs should be slightly bigger tho. Also, it seems that the games has been disconnecting mid game and would be hard to reconnect unless you shut everything down and reconnect all over. I’m not sure if this is due to the iOS 15 and it’s buggy. Other than that, this product is amazing and highly recommended.”

“Genuinely fantastic piece of tech. Works stupid easy, has got me playing games a lot more often and probably will replace the need for a Steam Deck or anything for me. Wish the app was better at launching right from it instead of sending you to the other apps, but it's not bad.”

“I love this concept, it’s convenient to not need a console and yet have a “controller” in hand. I love that i continue where i left off. I think it would be an awesome idea to maybe incorporate (in later models) a battery pack to help with battery drain. I do get some lag, but I understand that has to do with my signal. Either way, love this idea and can’t wait to see this company and those concepts grow! 5 Stars! I’ve already recommended to friends and coworkers.”

“A somewhat mediocre device that is overpriced. One nice thing was a 3 month trial of XBOX Live ultimate. After a week of back and forth with the customer service (it is exclusively email and they take up to 24 hours to respond for each action), they still can't get me a simple code to access XBOX Live ultimate. I recommend looking elsewhere.”

“This is an incredible product. I’ve been playing Halo Infinite on my iPhone 13 Pro Max pretty well (minus the well known issue with that phone). It feels great in my hands. Very responsive and comfortable. Never thought I would want to play games on my phone and here I am with a smile as I do it. Game Pass is the truth. Series X, PS5 and Steam on my phone? Amazing! Highly recommended.”

“Honestly, very disappointed. Trying to play games in the backbone app and having to spend all this money for different applications or going to the internet trying to play a game. The only good this controller can do it Xbox cloud gaming.. I purchased this thinking the games would be through the backbone app, not just a middle man and having to run all over the place trying to buy games. And I certainly didn’t intend to spend more money on second hand gaming platforms such as Stadia. In my opinion, this controller is worth no more than $20 and I am truly angry with myself that I convinced myself spending $100 on this would be a good idea..”

“I would have liked to know ahead of time that it would not work well with an iPhone 12 pro max, because I would not have bought it. With my iPhone it will not sit correctly in the back on and it is almost impossible to use so I wasted my money. I am not very happy here. I wasted $100.”

“When I first saw this device, I was very ecstatic! All of the childhood games I played on Xbox and Xbox One we’re going to come true, and the opportunity to play high demand games as well! Unfortunately, it came with a pretty heavy requirement: Internet. I will say this for the others considering to buy this: this is not a PSP or GameBoy for portable gaming. I was led to believe that the Game Pass Ultimate would be “cartridges” to allow me to play games while on the go. That wasn’t the case; after redeeming my code and getting my BackBone plugged in, I came to find out that you need to have Internet to do Xbox Cloud Gaming in order to access the games. By doing so, you cannot play these games while traveling. That was my main priority. Additionally, the hard requirement of Internet is way too steep. If your Internet is not the best, I would not recommend getting this. I live in a single house with only my iPhone and my roommate’s iPhone on our Wi-Fi. Even after that, I cannot play any of the games in an efficient manner. I would rubber-band, lag, or even have messages say “your Internet connection may delay your gameplay“. At one point, my game actually forced closed me out! So if I cannot play a game without getting a lag spike every 60 seconds, this device is not worth it. Ultimately, if I couldn’t get this to work at my own private Wi-Fi, good luck using Wi-Fi at a Starbucks, library, college campus, or airplane! Very disappointed.”
