“Second week in and I'm starting to enjoy using the Podstars reusable coffee pods. Any change of behaviour or product can take a while to get used to. At first I wasn't filling the pods enough and the coffee was too weak and it seemed to take me an age to fill them but now that I know how much to pack in, it's getting quicker for me to get to my cuppa in the morning. I love that I'm doing something good for the environment and get to use the coffee beans that I prefer.”
“I have tried each of the Pod Star coffee blends. My preferred coffee is made with hot skim milk (heater filled to the Max. level) and Pod Star reusable Nespresso pods. Having tried all of the Pod Star blends, I prefer Espresso of Love and It's Bean a Long Time, which I buy in whole bean form. I enjoy the aroma while grinding beans and the flavour released from the freshly ground beans.
I have a Pod Star coffee grinder and although I have found the Pod Star instruction videos helpful, it has taken me some time to adjust the coarseness of the grind correctly. I find with my two favourite blends that having tightened the coarseness adjusting nut to zero clearance, I slacken it by nearly two turns. I have marked a point on the grinder body and another on the adjusting nut with white marker pen to assist my adjustment. I have also found that the adjusting nut can move with use, so I have fitted a 6 mm wingnut to act as a locknut, which has so far proven effective.
I enjoy the Pod Star product and the process of making coffee in my Nespresso machine using the Pod Star system, as compared with ready-made pods.”
“The pods are of the highest quality and they work really well. No more disposable pods for me and now I can drink my favourite coffee using the same machine. I recommend these products because of the quality, albeit they are on the pricier side of things, they are definitely worth it in my opinion.”

“After practising all weekend with the pods, and not being happy with the results, I finally purchased a better quality pack of coffee and bingo! I now drink great cups of coffee and don’t have the worry of what to do with the used commercial aluminium pods.”
“Purchased the reusable coffee pods for an Aldi machine. Very easy to use and works very well. Much better than using disposable pods. The stainless steel pods appear very well made and will outlive any coffee machine. Also purchased some ground coffee which tastes great and is easy to put in the pods.”
“Couldn’t be happier with the pods, took a little bit of patience to get the grind spot on but well worth the effort. So nice to be able to choose your own coffee and no more plastic pod waste👍”
“I love my Podstar pods - and the coffee as well! I purchased the Nespresso Vertuo Plus Pods Ultimate Pack on the same day I bought Nespresso Vertuo Plus. The website navigation to compatibility before purchase, support for any questions, super-fast delivery of product and instructions for use are spot on. I thought the barcode thing with the Vertuo might land me in trouble, and at first two pods would not work. The button would just flash red. I just opened and closed the machine a few times and have had no trouble since. After about 50 cups of coffee I've learned a few things. Some pods can occasionally make a little more noise than others while spinning in the Vertuo. Because they spin so fast, slight variance when packing the pods makes a difference. Nothing concerning but it was noticeable after using the Nespresso trial pods. It's OK to put some pressure on the tamper (otherwise the coffee is a little watery). Wait a little while for the pod to cool before unscrewing and emptying - I learned that the hard way :). Having four pods is the greatest! Two used and two on standby make for a more seamless experience and I don't feel like a slave to the fill/empty process. The sample coffee provided by Podstar is actually really good, not that I'm a coffee connoisseur. I'm still trialling the grinder but it definitely needs the finer setting. Ultimately, I wanted a decent-tasting alternative to shop-bought coffee without contributing too much waste. I love my coffee and I love that (apart from coffee-bean packaging) my only ongoing waste is organic.”
