“5 Stars. Poppy's Picnic is amazing from the ease of food, to the benefits of our little dog Quintus. His poo is smaller, he doesn't smell, his coat is as nice as ever, and he licks the bowl clean each time! We get the mince, and the different flavours means there's enough variety so we know he does not get bored. It's really good to know the packaging is recyclable/compostable & the polystyrene recycling scheme is really good too!!”

“Love Love Love Poppys picnic food. Always arrives on time and in perfect condition. Bo can be quite fussy with his food but every meal the bowl is licked clean. It’s woof-tastic! Super fast friendly customer service team too what’s not to love 🐶💕”

“Getting this for my dog who suffers environment allergies and food allergies. Seems good for him really helps his tummy as he also suffer gastric issues. Food is good a little bit fatty but I guess to be expect in a meat product. I try to drain the fat out. My dog loves it gobbles it up in seconds. I buy the pork mince cookable one. Only thing I will say is a downside is their are sometimes s far to many large bones in the food..some so big I'm sure it could cause some internal damage..sharp to. I go through the food and make sure I get it all out. But for anyone who just gives it without checking the bones are very big sometimes. And sometimes allot of them. Make sure to check through the food if you can. Be harder if raw and not cooked though. Overall though my dog loves the food And really good for his tummy issues”

Dear Anonymous Thank you for the 5* review and your feedback We're delighted to see that the food is helping with your dog's tummy and gastric issues. If you are looking for a lower-fat variety then we can recommend the MIGHTY MINCE Chicken (labelled low fat) or even the MIGHTY MINCE Beef. You are correct in saying that the lamb and wild boar naturally have a higher fat content than the other proteins, but rest assured all are complete and balanced to meet nutritional guidelines for dog food. The MIGHTY MINCE you order doesn't contain any bone - the bone has been replaced with powdered eggshells, a natural source of calcium, so it can be fed raw or cooked. It does however contain cartilage, which is safe for dogs to eat raw and is a great source of glucosamine. We use an 8mm plate during the grounding process, however, the bendier pieces of cartilage may have slipped through. “I tried Poppy’s picnic after my new puppy came weaned onto raw food. The website was so easy to use, and the food was delivered quickly, exactly as described with good updates. Unlike a lot of raw food providers, the meals come in take away style plastic boxes and I found that far better for preparing and managing the food rather than them being in plastic bags. Ultimately I’m not convinced raw feeding is for us, that’s just personal choice but I cannot fault the quality and service of Poppy’s picnic and highly recommend them for anyone looking to raw feed.”

“My 3 year old Border Terrier was becoming increasingly fussy and unenthusiastic about his dinner choices. Since trying the cookable Mighty Mince, he has not turned up his nose at one mealtime it has been a genuine game changer! He loves it and I love that there is no mealtime negotiation any more.”

“Following a late delivery of raw food that exceeded 48 hours dispatch, I rejected the order as the December order was delivered within 20 hours of the dispatch notice and had already started to defrost. Following discussions with customer service requesting an additional order as a replacement I was informed this would not be implemented or any payments reinbursed. I would have at least expected that the 24-hour delivery payment would have been offered but they were not interested. No dog food - No refund - Very Poor Customer Service following very late delivery - Be Cautious. Will NEVER use this company again or recommend it.”

Dear Anonymous We were very sorry to hear you had rejected your delivery, which our records show was delivered 43 hours from despatch. It was such a cold couple of days, barely rising above freezing, that the box temperature would have remained below acceptable levels even beyond this time. It was for this reason that we explicitly told you, when you contacted us before delivery, not to reject the order. It is important that customers accept delivery of food within the 48 hours delivery period as we cannot replace or refund products that are entirely sound and safe to use. We also ask that customers open the boxes to check the contents so we can more easily send out a replacement, if required, for packs damaged in transit, etc. Our investigation with DPD showed the box was rejected unopened on this occasion. We would always advise any customers with concerns about delivery timings to contact us for guidance, as the dispatch notices are produced hours before the orders are packed and do not give an accurate indication of the time the products leave our freezers.
