Hello Sarah We are disappointed that you felt you had to throw the food away. If you had contacted us on the day, or looked this topic up in our FAQs, we would have been able to guide you correctly and avoid waste (and your obvious disappointment). Our insulated boxes are designed to keep the food cold in transit for up to 48 hours. If some defrosting does occur it arrives cold (but not frozen) it is safe to go straight into the freezer. “Although the food is good quality, I ordered a chicken dish for my dog who is allergic to red meat, only to find that the ingredients include beef offal. This information was not on the website.”

“We changed our 16 week old Cockapoo from kibble to raw and have never looked back.Our Simba loves his raw food and I’m sure if he had it his way, he would have more every meal time! Thank you to Deborah for all the help and guidance on the move!”

“Our new fur baby absolutely loves Poppy's Picnic and wolfs it down in a flash! He then spends the next 20 minutes licking the bowl, just incase he missed a bit! Top Nosh for top dogs”

“The dogs eat it, which is the main thing but, being fussy, they don’t like the way it clumps together in the bowl. This means I end of hand feeding them (they’re not spoilt at all) They love the liver and venison treats but the marrow bone that was supposed to be small was much to big for them. It needs to be in smaller pieces for small dogs.”

Our bones are in the two sizes that are suitable for most sizes of dogs. “I briefly used poppy’s picnic. I was misled by the pricing structure on the website which is for the basic product. I wanted a enhanced food. The food looked great and my girls enjoyed it. It’s just too expensive. Their packets are 10% smaller than most other raw providers, this adds up when you're feeding large dogs like Labradors. Im buying a enhanced food from a rival for £60 a month less. Sorry”

To explain, we have two types of food - our complete working dog mince range, RAW POWER and our complete enhanced ranges, MIGHTY MINCE and POWER BALLS. The enhanced products contain no bone so they are cookable. “My dogs love Poppy's picnic. I only give them poppy's and there coats are shiny. They are healthy and satisfied dogs. It's good value for money and poppy's picnic staff are lovely. Always nice and helpful”

“A1 Service and advice on how feed Your pets I have 2 Chinese Crested like chalk and cheese in looks and eating what one likes the other dislike for the first time they both like same they injoy both meat and treats and the change in there behaviour is amazing ie more playful and not as stressed more restful I would recommend Thank you for making my life easier.”

“My dog likes the food. One concern I have is when the food arrived it wasn’t in an ice pack. I would like to be sure it’s still safe to feed my dog as this was the case.”

Hello Claude Thank you for the review and your feedback So pleased to hear that your dog is loving our food We don't use ice-packs - our insulated courier boxes have been specially designed for 48 hour transport time, and each pack keeps the other pack cold - a bit like when we huddle together to keep warm! The food is safe to pop in the freezer ,defrost as and when you need it and perfectly safe for your dog to eat. “The packaging and the service is great…The food itself is quite sloppy compared to other raw food I’ve used. Our Frenchie licks this food up, others he chomps and eats as normal…It's like a paste that you spoon into the bowl. Maybe batch issue.”
