Having used Postscript for many years, my recent experience relating to returns has totally soured that long relationship. No other organisation makes you wrap up the parcel at your own expense and make you take it to the local distribution point to queue until someone deigns to take the package. All the others either get you to donate the damaged goods to a charity or send a delivery person to pick it up. Stgill not happy.

Good afternoon, I'm sorry to read that you are unhappy with our returns process, when returning any items to us we would recommend using the same packaging the item was received in to prevent any expense to yourself. We always check the location of your nearest drop-off point for returns to ensure that it will not be a significant inconvenience to you. If you are ever unable to reach a drop-off point then we are more than happy to discuss other ways to return items to us. Kind regards, Postscript Customer Services

I recently ordered six books and I'm very pleased with everyone of my choices. They were very carefully and professionally wrapped and I knew the person who did it was a book lover like myself. I have been buying books for many years now and of course not every choice is what I would have chosen from a bookshop but in the main they all represent good value for money and they remain one of the pleasures of my life, thank you.

My order was sent back to sender suspecting missing shop id and need to rearrange for the order delivery after some email communication. So I haven’t received my order yet. Despite it’s overdue.

Good morning Bruce, We're sorry to hear that your parcel's on it's way back to us. When situations like this occur, we always look at sending a replacement out for you or processing a refund, depending on your preference. I can see that you've been in contact with our Customer Service team and a replacement has been sent out, which will arrive tomorrow. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. I was very disappointed with my order from Postscript. After placing my order on 5th March, with a delivery rate of 3-5 days, I heard no more until 14th Mach when Paypal informed me a refund from Postscript was being processed. Even then, I didn't know which books the refund applied to until the parcel was delivered on 15th March. The two books which presumably were available when I placed the order but which were unavailable when the order was being made up had been intended for birthday presents but by 15th March it was too late to source them from elsewhere.

Good afternoon Alison, I'm sorry that we weren't able to completely fulfil your order. The two titles in question were showing as available due to a discrepancy in our inventory software, and unfortunately it is not company policy to contact each customer that this situation applies to. I have searched our system for an order associated to the email address that you have left this review on, and can only find one that was placed on 11th March. If this is in fact the correct email address used for your order, I'm glad to hear that it arrived within the paid for delivery time. If the order was placed using an alternative email address or postcode, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team via email at help@psbooks.co.uk, and I will investigate further for you. Kind regards, Postscript Customer Services

Why advertise when you have not got them?

Good afternoon, All of our titles are in stock at the time of our catalogue being published. The more popular titles can sell very quickly but we will try to offer alternatives when possible. Where a title is popular we will try to acquire more stock which will then be advertised in the 'back by popular demand' section of the catalogue and online. Kind regards, Postscript Customer Services

Hi John, I am sorry to hear that your book was damaged in transit. If you would like us to replace the book then please just contact our customer service team at help@psbooks.co.uk with some images, I am sure they will be happy to help you. Thank you for the feedback on our packaging. We do deliver thousands of parcels every day and we actually see very few concerns about damages being raised in relation to the volume we send. In regards to changing the packaging; due to how we ethically source our boxes, wrapping and the providers we use, this process does take time, but we feel it is time well spent to do it right. As such, we are presently reviewing our current solutions and you will hopefully see our new and improved packaging very soon.

It might help if the books advertised in your brochure actually existed at the time of ordering. I was deeply disappointed not to receive the books I ordered (twice now). Not good enough if you want to keep my custom.

Thank you for your feedback Dr Caless, I am sorry to read that you have been disappointed on a couple of occasions when ordering with us. Due to the nature of our business being a limited stock retailer, we do have situations such as these arise when titles have been particulary popular. I see that you exclusively place your orders via mail order. My best recommendation to improve your chances of acquiring titles which are in high demand, would be to use one of the other avenues we make available to our customers, via phone on 01626 897 100 or by visiting our website at www.psbooks.co.uk. Our website can actually let you know in real time whether a title is available or not, which would allow you to order with more confidence, and hopefully, less disappointment. Kind regards Postscript Books

I was away when the parcel arrived. It was placed behind one of the rubbish bins on my drive, out of sight but in the open air & got soaking wet when it rained. No message was left thro' my letterbox. All this could have been avoided if on your order form there was a box where one could put a comment such as "If out leave in the garage" or "next door" etc. On the basis of this delivery alone I would put a 0 under your "How likely ...." box but I'm putting a 5 instead on a watch this space basis.

Hello Cliff. I'm sorry to hear that the courier didn't take your delivery instructions into account with your recent order. I can see that we have these saved to your account, so I've raised this with the courier so that they can address it internally to avoid a repeat occurrence. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As this has resulted in you receiving a damaged book, I'll contact you directly so we can discuss how to get this resolved for you.

I have used PS books for some time without any problem, however the last few times I have had great difficulty ordering online as I had to have several attempts after password resets did not work. The last order difficulty resulted in a duplicate order, which I did not realise until I received 2 of everything I had ordered. I phoned your customer service team and was amazed to find that there was to be no refund of postage for the items I was required to return to obtain a refund for the cost of the items. It cost me £6.99 to send the package back. When I asked if it would not have been reasonable to lift a phone and enquire whether the order was correct I was told that the online warehouse could not do that. I was advised if I wished to avoid similar problems in future I should order by phone! In this age of hi-tech where companies such as Amazon provide free return labels I think your company should rethink its attitude towards long-term customers if it intends to retain its customer base. You have lost this customer already.

Good afternoon Jane. I'm sorry to hear that you had some difficulty resetting your password and that you were disappointed that we were not able to refund the cost to return the items duplicated online. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of orders that leave our warehouse, we are unable to contact each customer who has ordered more than one copy of a title, as sometimes additional copies are purchased as gifts. To avoid duplications when placing an order on our website, we recommend checking the contents of your basket and order value before proceeding to the payment page and entering payment details. However, we are reviewing company policy so that our customers can return unwanted items at no additional cost to them.
