“We lost our local Poundland lately and gained a Poundstretcher in its place. I had never been in one of their stores. I was quite impressed by the range of items although did feel some were overpriced for a discount store. The store seems to be fairly quiet even on weekends. I suppose being dead opposite a large B &M doesn’t help. I found the staff to be helpful when asking about a product. I think the company has struggled and it’s good to see them expand but I would rather have a Poundland back. I wish them well.”
“We went into Poundstretcher in Newtown Powys this morning and I must say I was most pleasantly surprised. I don't think I have ever been in such a well stocked store as this one. The shelves were immaculate and the staff were extremely pleasant. Such an amazing variety of goods, very impressed . Well done Newtown poundstretcher.”
“Always buy my mattress and pillow protectors from Primark but found some great looking ones in my local store Got home and took the packaging off and where they had packed it with recycled cardboard it smelt like sick Waste of money and went straight in the charity shop I needed brand new to put straight on my bed as cant get my others dry to put back on”
“Overcharged numerous times, items out date but full price when spoke to manager of the store was told what expect me to do over the phone ( regarding a refund, I explained I don't live nearby and had bus to catch) it was implied that they might give refund if they check receipt and find they overcharged me.
I was charged for 5 storage boxes at £2.50 each when only had 4 boxes not 5.
Means two bus journeys to get to the store aswell, are they gonna reimburse me that expense?
Prices also different to what's on packaging or ticket and lot is overpriced for what it is.”

“Ex Manager 7 Years - Store Manager left, Deputy Left all due to lack of respect. I managed the store for 7 months right through Christmas working on the same pay as my Sales Assistants and not a penny more. Got promised Deputy, that never came. They said if i ran store for two months I'd get store Manager, that never came. Then told me if I run the store till Christmas I've get Store Manager, come January that never came either. Fake promises to make you run their stores for free. I've now left the company and they haven't paid me my full wage and have left out my holiday pay. Company ignoring emails.”
“Customer service Very bad. First, the store employees are dissatisfied with the wrinkled faces, especially people with disabilities who need help the store employees show an obvious unwillingness to help them.”
“Absolutely horrendous store in Newtown Staff are terrible. I tried to return a product and the child I can only assume to be the manager as aggressive and completely ignorant. What an absolute nightmare. He had no clue what he was talking about and treated me like I didn’t exist. He looked right through me. While his crony staff just watched and smirked. “Picked up an extension lead, Marked price on rack £4.50 took to till £6.50 questioned why, oh it must be on the wrong rack I said no they were all the same was then told £4.50 is the wrong price it is 6.50 asked why it’s wrong price oh we did a price check this morning, well change the sign then, rude unhelpful won’t shop there again”
“Poundland use to be good but Poundstretcher is rubbish 🗑️🚮 there is one staff member who is racist or just has a problem with me everytime I walk in there this staff member (female indian,Sri Lanka or whatever I don't know where she is from she has black hair and always follows me she should Be FIRED or something This is bad service and I really want her gone she has no respect is he following me because I'm black. Or .... I like there products and everything but that women really pisses me off please do something about this Poundstretcher manager”

“Went to Poundstretcher today to get toilet rolls some were £15 a pack with 50% off if spend over £5.00 ( £7.50 ). Used to go and get 2 packs under £7.50 . Big Signs on shelves 50% off spend over £5 but large price on shelf is with the 50% off. Sorry to say last visit. Cheaper in main supermarkets. Very misleading.”

“They are banking on their target market not being able to work out that an item marked up to just over double its original price then cut in half equals a higher price than before. It's surely unethical to treat people like they are idiots.”
“What a joke. All the prices were inflated before the 50% off sale started. Home Bargains, B&M and other stores are actually cheaper and are not deceiving their customers.
They are now announcing in store that the 50% off only applies to purchases over £5 yet the 50% off signs are plastered all over the outside of the store and in the windows. Another lie!!!”
