“Another very stressed out seller here.
I'm not saying much else here because I intend to take things further.
Suffice to say I would not recommend them to my worst enemy”
“Like all other reviews here, I have had dreadful experience with these cowboys. I am a cash buyer and neither I nor the seller are in a chain yet it has taken 6 months and counting. Avoid these people at all costs. It is a scandal that purple bricks are recommending them!!”
“Like everyone else leaving a one star review, even this is undeserved. PPL should be renamed *Nightmare Property Lawyers*. They turned a sale that could have concluded in max 8 weeks into a four month transaction. As I write we are still waiting to exchange and complete. Their 'unreasonable' delays, lack of action and understanding of the most basic conveyancing processes has so far cost around £5000 losses (and increasing...) to both the buyer and seller. Very awful practice. The regulator should do something!!!”
“Why is there not a 0 star option?! The WORST bunch of cowboys ever. DO NOT USE. What should have been an easy quick sale, with no chain took over 5 months!! For two months of that PPL did not communicate with our solicitor to answer enquiries. Both the sellers, our solicitor and us, the buyers were at our wits' end with these fools. The sellers tried to contact PPL numerous times, made 100s of calls, sent emails, left messages and nothing. Every phone call and email from our solicitor was ignored. Reeds Rains who recommended these chancers were no help whatsoever in pushing the sale through. PPL should not be allowed to practice, the stress they caused both us and the sellers was just awful. There is not one ounce of professionalism or pride from these lot. They have absolutely no problem in lying to their clients and cannot be trusted. We agreed a completion date which was acknowledged by our solicitor but nothing from PPL. The completion date came and went, the sellers moved out and we were left in limbo for over another month. Even when we eventually got to the exchange point the PPL representative didn't seem to understand the basic principle of exchange so we had to start again the next day. I cannot believe that anyone, I am looking at you Reeds Rains, would recommend them. I beg you do not use this company, especially if you do not want to age 10 years!!”
“1 star is more than I'd like to give. Please please avoid this muppet show, they have caused us huge amounts of stress and financial losses through incompetence. They've lied to us on multiple occasions, they've let us down time and time and they genuinely couldn't care less. If there's one thing you do right on a house sale or purchase it would staying far away from these clowns. 9 months in we've now lost our dream house and will have to move into rented if we don't want to lose our buyers too.”
“They only get one star as otherwise I cannot write a review.
This was the worst selling experience we have had in the last 40 years.
they were disorganised and did not return calls.
I wonder about their competence as they could not even look up an international dialling code!
Go somewhere else it will be a much easier experience and will be more efficient. Or better yet do your own conveyancing it couldn’t be any worse.”
“Service is absolutely appalling! It's extremely difficult to get hold of the team/conveyancer in charge of your case despite sending emails and leaving messages by phone. When they do respond, it's a 'we are very busy' response. I am paying for this service and do not expect to still be waiting 8 months down the line for the sale of my house to be completed when it should be very straightforward. When speaking to the conveyancer, he has no clue about my case, I end up having to tell him what stage we are at. Purple bricks need to stop recommending this company as they are diabolical! If 0 stars were an option, that is what I would leave. DO NOT USE!”
“Stay well clear… repeated requests for the same queries. NEVER get to speak to someone who can actually speak about your case. No call backs or emails despite multiple requests. Logging call backs on eway when no calls were actually made.
If you want delays and a horrible service this is your dream company.”
“Totally useless and unprofessional company, my first sale fell though as for two months they failed to inform me the buyers we unable to obtain a mortgage! still hav'nt completed on the new sale nearly five months on, had to do a lot of the work i am paying them for, chasing people up e.t.c. don't answer e-mails, seem unable to grasp the simplist questions, horrible, stressful experiance, avoid at all costs.”
“Needed a quick sale
They never looked at the documents I sent them
Never contacted me to say there was anything wrong with what was provided I had to contact them! Charged me stamp duty BEFORE 1 October a further £14,000 which I will NOT be paying then they cancelled my order for my mortgage on the day we were due to exchange. 28 days to respond to a complaint I don’t have that it will all fall through if we do not complete this week. Couldn’t not speak to complaints team so I emailed ombudsman services hope they enjoy and can afford my compensation”
“Terrible service, was incredibly stressful dealing with them.
1. I was not in a chain but it took 6 months to complete.
2. Really hard to get through and speak to anyone.
3. When I did get through and asked why no progress had been made, I would be told this was because I hadn't signed a certain form. When I said I had never been asked to sign that form, no apology.
4. My solicitor went on maternity leave and didn't hand over to anyone so nothing happened on my case for 2 months. It was only after weeks of trying to contact them that I found this out.
5. The day before completion, they lost vital paperwork I had paid a lot of money to send recorded delivery.
6. Spent months answering the same questions again and again as my solicitor would not read my emails properly.
7. Me and my buyer both went with PPL but our solicitors refused to talk to each other (despite being in the same office) so I ended up having to speak to my buyer directly all the time so he could chase.
Very stressful experience, avoid at all costs.”

I've tried to sell my house twice with them. Both 1st and 2nd time this has failed and I've lost my buyers. Over the period of about 6 months there was no way to communicate with conveyancer as 100% of the time automated system tells you he is busy, "please don't leave any massages as voicemail is not monitored". Emailed them number of times and each time I emailed conveyancer directly I've never had any response. Few call back after emailing and CC'd in head-office. Currently I've moved away to local company and "what a difference!" When my new solicitors asked to provide searches over they were ignored, I called PPL for this matter and got usual answer from receptionist saying they are unable to speak to me as all conveyancers are currently busy. I've decided to email PPL and CC in PPL head-office to get call back within 5min. I'm going to be very kind saying this company is one massive JOKE. A funny fact is that under almost every sinlge negative review someone from PPL will add "sorry..we are investigating... "-sure you have to as you clearly don't know whats going on in your own business”
“Absolute muppets. Surely these peolle are not resl conveyancers.
No chain, we rent, multiple changing conveyancers with no clue about our sale, it has taken 5 months so far. We have to constantly chase them up.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
@purplebricks please stop recommending these cowboys.”
“Coudn’t fault them. Eway app was easy to use. Sometimes frustrating as it can take a while to get through to them but it just takes patience. I wouldn’t want their job, just remember they are making sure you buy a property that won’t have issues when/if you want to sell it.
It’s a shame more people don’t appreciate the work involved behind the scenes, it’s not easy!”
