I received a Christmas gift, and went to a Brooklyn, NY store to exchange. Of course I did not have a receipt for a gift. The cashier stated the policy is no exchanges without a receipt. I didn't ask for a cash refund, just an equal exchange. Not a good experience. 😕

The other member of staff, thought I was buying the 4 items that the original girl had already refunded and unbeknown to me, added them to my bill - I bought a further 8 items.

Don't accept returns after 28 days, which is appalling as I had bought a shirt and it didn't fit I was willing to exchange for a dearer item as they didn't have a bigger size, but they could not do this or offer a refund as receipt date expired. Used to be able to take anything back without a receipt. Sizing smaller as well especially the men's clothes. Won't be buying from the again.

Exchange policy for lost reciept is ridiculous , exchanging an item unworn with tags for another item is no loss for Primark . Except I won’t be buying from there again. So there s your loss.
If they at least offered an email reciept as back up they would have a leg to stand on with their draconian refund policy .

Very disappointed with Primark return policy. I recieved a dress from Primark £15 as a gift and the dress were wrong size. The next day I went to Primark and wanted to do a straight exchange, it also had tags. But because I didn't have my receipt the staff refused to do the exchange without a receipt. Primark needs to upgrade the return policy and to allow returning without receipt. I also work at a retail and I understand all sorts of customer complaints. Returning any items should allow the tills to recognise which card it was paid with. Cash/gift card etc. And it should also recognise when it was purchased. Every store has it's own return policy. Returning without a receipt should be acceptable, as soon as you scan the item it should allow the tills to recognise everything. If the item were a gift the customer had the right to get a refund and have the money back on a gift card atleast????
I'm very disappointed with Primark and I don't see any point shopping at Primark ever again!!!

In these strange time where nothing can be tried on and shops closing and re-opening , people having to isolate , couldn't believe when the woman just said no refund out of 28 days , she had receipt and still had tags on .

My elderly family member couldn't find the reciept so within a week of the purchase I tried to return the items not for a refund but an exchange, they still had tags and labels on them and you could clearly tell they were from Primark.

Terrible refund policy even with receipt and all the tags! They said they couldn’t take back a blouse I bought on Saturday and returned today.

Primark customer service the worst ever ( not in store there rules in general ) returned an item 1 day late with receipt and tags intact to be told no you can’t get a refund asked by the manager to email the company to see if they would do anything explained that I got the dates mixed up as I was going on holiday rushed back to store to take it back got a standard e Mail back about returns policy that I already knew they didn’t even reply to my response that explained the circumstances.

Denied a refund for pj's that were a gift for my daughter but were too small. This is despite the exact same pair in her size being available and the ones we had still with the tags on and still on the hanger. All because we weren't given a gift receipt. Appalling customer service.
