More praise for logistics: There's no wait-list. Scheduling and rescheduling is easy, and they do their best to align with your preferences. Maternal health therapy can be cost-prohibitive, since many providers have expensive rates or you often have to do extra work to get insurance coverage (who has time for that extra task as a new mom?), so this was an affordable private pay option that worked for me.”

I also like that this offers me the opportunity for self reflection exercises. Traditional talk therapy is great, but you end up just talking over things over and over whereas this gives me actual steps to change patterns that I’m unhappy with. “I really liked how action-based their approach was. Yea there was room for venting and talking about the situations you find yourself in and how you maybe poorly responded or lacked support. But then you work together to create an action plan for moving forward in a better way the next time it comes up. You also work a lot on reframing thought patterns, disproving negative stories you may be placing on things, etc. I found it helpful especially early postpartum just to nip some toxic thought patterns and communication habits early before they negatively impacted my marriage and bond with baby.”
