“QIMacros is a wonderful and very economical alternative to other statistical and quality improvement software. Our company utilizes MODAPTS Predetermined time study to estimate operator cycle times, particularly for our new product introductions. MODAPTS is a very quick and useful tool for determining how long an average production operator will take to complete a given task. The MODAPTS module in QIMacros does everything that the high-priced MODAPTS calculators do, and at less than 5% of the cost. The QIMacros MODAPTS Calculator, included under "Lean Tools" allows a MODAPTS Practitioner to estimate an operator's hourly workload based on the coded movements to complete a task. These coded movements can be attributed to different models, and a production line mix following the line heijunka will determine an operator's estimated workload in minutes of work per hour. A percentage allowance is applied to all work to realistically estimate the uncertainty in the process and how fatigue and other non-work factors affect a production line operator. Detailed instructions are included for the MODAPTS Practitioner to understand the behind-the-scenes calculations. As a MODAPTS Practitioner with many years experience, I highly recommend the QIMacros MODAPTS Calculator. In addition to this feature, as a Lean Practitioner, I recommend you try the other Lean tools such as the Yamazumi Chart, and Flow Chart. These work much better than other software that costs much more!”
