“We had the experience of a life time. It's a magical place and Quasar and the Evolution made the experience enjoyable, personal, and accessible. The staff and guides on the Evolution fostered building new relationships between the guests. We have remained in contact with many friends we met onboard. The food was delicious and the menus were varied. I highly recommend it. Thank you Bolo, Feddy, Ellie, Aldo and Chef David.”

“An excellent two weeks. Meals were spectacular and healthy, crew responsive and very willing to be of service. They worked really hard on our behalf. Facilities were very clean and kept that way. Would have been nice to have a few more free weights. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful. Only one guide, Alex, did not always participate fully on the snorkeling adventures. When Bolo or Fede were our guides, they would dive down to show us underwater creatures which we might not have otherwise seen due to camouflage, which was most helpful. After the first snorkeling experience, I was reluctant to enter the water again because it had been rough. Bolo refused to allow me to hang back and took me by the hand, which permitted me to feel comfortable enough that I no longer needed his help for the rest of the time. While he had me by the hand he had one of the young children in our group on his back because was afraid too. He was really gentle and comported himself with elegance. Fede was so enthusiastic about everything and a delight, as was his music”

“Our cruise on the Grace was epic, a true bucket list adventure. The food and service was excellent, the accommodations were great, and the naturalists were fantastic. It really could not have been better except i do wish we had more access to the internet and it was easier to connect.”

Hello David, Thank you for your great review and we're thrilled to hear you had a great time aboard the Grace in the Galapagos. Regarding your comment on the internet service onboard, unfortunately this is an issue that is outside of Quasar's control. We provide the absolute best service and satellite internet connection that is available in the Islands which, as you experienced, unfortunately isn't very good. It is mainly limited to email, texting and other online messaging services. The population of the Galapagos is less than 30,000 individuals and there are only 4 places where people live, with the majority of islands remaining uninhabited. Therefore telecom companies are inclined to improve internet services in the Galapagos, simply because there are hardly any customers and the islands are dispersed over a large area with most islands being a wilderness area. “Trip of a lifetime to the Galapagos with Quasar! Their service was great, from pick-up, to excursions in Equador to on-board service on The Grace yacht. All of the Quasar folks were so nice, and well-informed. We especially loved the naturalists on board The Grace, Monica and Sophia, who worked well together and were a pleasure to spend so much time with. I would recommend this trip to anyone!”

“Quasar Expeditions provided an excellent experience for us. The staff was top notch and the guides were fabulous. Everything was taken care of seamlessly and with the utmost attention to detail. We were able to relax and enjoy the entire trip without a care in the world as we were transported into a part of the world that exists as nature at its best. Wonderful experience overall!”

“just a couple comments .. the food - several people i spoke to commented on the food . the chef was an awesome concerned great person but given the quality of quasar the food was just not up to par . the cabin locations given the layout of the ship more than half of the people on the ship commented about the noise from the anchor coming up or down and we never got any quiet as we were near the generator we found out this is for sure something that we should have been told one guy jumped out of bed because he thought the ship had run into something the first night he heard the anchor go down .. also quito we were not told that quito was unsafe to walk around at night and even the day . 2 people on our trip were pickpocketed and a police chase ensued. lastly dogs i think it should be mentioned that there is a HUGE abandoned stray dog population. i was pretty shocked apon landing and seeing this i know that it does not apply to all but it really bummed out my visit to quito . the guides were great. there should be t-shirts or quasar goodies for the final evening " test " on what we learned during the cruise. our team one and i think we got a chocolate bar for 7 of us .”

With that being said, we are sorry to hear that your trip with Quasar did not meet your expectations enough to warrant a 5-star review. Every detail of each of our cruises are carefully curated to ensure that our Guests have the adventure of a lifetime, so we would like to further address each of your comments below. In regards to the food served onboard your cruise in Galapagos, the overall rating of the food obtained from the comment cards that were filled out by you and other guests was 4.8/5 stars. Of the 15 total comment cards we collected, 13 of them rated the food 5/5 stars while there was only one 4/5 rating and one 3/5 rating. We understand how big of a role food plays on any luxury vacation! We would be interested in getting additional feedback from you on why the food onboard did not meet your standards. Someone from our customer service team will be reaching out to explore this in more detail. We also encourage you, or anyone with further questions, to contact us at customerservice@quasarex.com. In regards to the noise onboard, this is something that is inevitable when traveling aboard smaller yachts. We always want to ensure that you see the most and the best the islands have to offer, which requires our yachts to travel long distances that include making navigational crossings at night. As a result of that, you will likely hear some engine and generator noise in your cabin during sleeping hours. The sounds of waves against the hull and the sound of the anchor dropping when we reach our destination may also be heard as well. In addition, when the yachts are underway, the engine noise is constant and at about the same volume you experience onboard a jetliner. You'll encounter this noise not only on Quasar's yachts, but on all other yachts in the Islands and around the world. You can easily have a conversation, but you can also hear the presence of the engines in the background. We've heard that some people actually sleep better with constant background noise, while others do not. Our recommendation is that if you are extra sensitive to noise, to please ask your Guide for a pair of ear plugs, which are available free of charge for our Guests. Considering all of the wonderful benefits that come with traveling with a small, intimate group through one of the world's most pristine National Parks, we believe the noises heard aboard yachts are a small price to pay. In regards to the pickpocketing issue, we are very sorry to hear that this happened to a few of our Guests during your trip! Unfortunately, we were never made aware of this, which means this happened during a tour or service that they did not book directly with Quasar. We spoke with our Guides about this issue, and we can assure you that this did not happen during one of Quasar’s tours or services. Those that travel to Ecuador find it to be a beautiful country full of welcoming people, but just as when traveling anywhere in the world, you are advised to take certain precautions to ensure your personal security and those of your belongings. We advise all of our Guests to avoid wandering around large cities, such as Quito or Guayaquil, on their own and to avoid walking around certain neighborhoods at night. We recommend that our Guests be accompanied by a Quasar Guide at all times given they know these cities well and therefore know when and where to go and places to be avoided. Lastly, regarding your comment about stray dogs in Quito, for the most part, the dogs you saw are owned. In most cases, the dogs you see on the street are owned solely for the purpose of property protection. The human-animal bond in cities like this are significantly different from what most of us are used to, and we understand it can be shocking. Most stray dogs in Quito are fed a small helping of food from their owners, however, most must rely on food found on the streets to sustain themselves. Today, there are dozens of private organizations dedicated to rescuing these dogs and putting them up for adoption in private homes with owners who will take great care of them! Last year alone, the number of adopted dogs in Quito more than tripled from that of the previous year, and the number of dogs purchased in pet stores decreased by almost half. We assure you progress is being made on that front. We really do appreciate the feedback you've given to us as it helps in making us aware of things happening on our safari-style cruises! “This was the ultimate vacation! “We did our Galapagos adventure safari from May 14 -21, 2022. The experience met and exceeded our expectations. The three guides were all excellent and invested in our experience. The food, Chef David, was wonderful and accommodated my vegetarian needs. The Evolution is a great boat. Comfortable cabins (though really just there to sleep and change clothes), and wonderful outdoor spaces, both covered and uncovered. We loved dining outdoors, as well as the outdoor bar and snacks space one deck up. Finally, the staff and crew seem to have invented the word "hospitality." We were so cared for and spoiled that the return to home life has been a challenge!”

“We had a wonderful trip on the beautiful Grace. The knowledgeable naturalists, Lenin and Walter, guided us with information, care and humor : ))). The meals were as beautiful as they were delicious. The chef greeted us every night to make sure of our satisfaction. A smiling bartender kept us supplied with beverages, kind crewmembers helped us to and from the pangas and the beautiful Scarlet announced "good morning, good morning" every morning. The weather was perfect, the other guests were a delight, and the towel sculptures made me laugh every night--what's not to love? This was a beautiful experience and will be a lasting memory!”
