There are trips and adventures you can try and plan well, and then there are trips that are well-planned. This experience was not just "a vacation someplace different," but an "over-the-top" life experience that will ALWAYS rest in our Top 3, no matter what else we do in this life. The 7 days spent aboard the M/Y Grace, visiting remote islands in the Galapagos and immersing ourselves in the nature and wildlife of those special places - up close and personal with zero sense of threat by the animals that inhabit those arid lands - cannot possibly be matched anywhere else on the planet. The ship's crew, the on board naturalist, the physical comfort of the vessel, the superb dining experiences, the small passenger list (generating great camaraderie and newfound friendships), the daily hiking, snorkeling and small boat adventures - it all added up to pure escapism and a rediscovered child-like wonder of one of the last great unpopulated wonderlands left on Earth. Quasar Expeditions demonstrated their knowledge, capabilities and foresight from start to finish, handling every request and arrangement with total professionalism, accountability and skill. These are the ONLY people I would recommend to anyone wishing to explore the Galapagos to the fullest, and I plan to turn to them again when we begin planning our adventure to Patagonia...

Recently enjoyed a wonderful voyage on the Evolution that took us on their western Galapagos itinerary. Everything was excellent and well worth it, a memorable trip of a lifetime. Highly recommended.

Quasar Expeditions' trip to Patagonia was excellent. The lodge/hotel accommodations were superior, and the food was on par with a deluxe restaurant in any large city. Driving the Jeeps on paved and unpaved roads was an adventure not to be experienced elsewhere. The panoramas of glaciers, mountains, and the lakes gave this photographer lots of great photos. The flora and fauna were interesting - I've never seen so many guanacos or flamingos. We had guides to point out the highlights, but I'd be glad to try self-driving because of all the information provided in the Jeep on iPads. One flat tire was easily replaced, and having a satellite phone for emergencies was a comfort in case there were situations one could not handle. Luckily, there were none. I had such a good time that I wasn't ready to come home!

I was very happy with how easy Diane at Quasar was to work with. There were times where my credit card/bank was being difficult with the payment and she was very understanding.

We found Paul and Diane online when we were researching a trip to the Galapagos. We researched boats; determined the type and quality of boat we wanted and settled on one connected to Quasar. Had we known about Quasar before, it would have saved us google time! Nevertheless, from the time we were connected to Quasar and Paul and Diane, the planning went smooth as silk. Diane answered all my questions, sent information and booking forms right away, advised us on what to expect, and what to bring, and kept us in the loop from booking through stepping foot on the boat. You can trust the information you get from Paul and Diane, and that is so very important when planning a trip so far away and that costs so much money!!! And, they are so pleasant to deal with. If there were more stars, I would give them more!

My partner and I recently sailed the Western Galapagos Islands on Quasar Expedition's M/V Evolution and we were simply blown away by the whole experience - from booking to cruising! Like most people, we were somewhat nervous about plunking down a significant sum of money without really knowing what to expect. Outstanding reviews about the company and the boat certainly helped but having an opportunity to actually speak to Diane and Paul, the company's US based managers, and clarify our many questions about everything from flights to daily itinerary was a huge factor in our choosing the company. Any company that works with potential clients, like Paul and Diane did, had to be great, right? Not necessarily, you may be thinking. But, Quasar Ex really is exceptional and the proof of that really was our onboard experience. We had an amazing time on the Evolution. The guides that led our group - Roberto and Hernan - were outstanding and easily lived up to our rather high standards (both my partner and I are scientists). We thoroughly enjoyed our days, jam-packed as they were with snorkelling, swimming, and hiking. My partner refers to the cruise as one amazing science field trip. Cruise connotes lounging by the pool. This ain't that kind of a cruise! Sure, individuals were welcome to skip any of the activities and relax/nap out the comfy couches in the open, breezy lounge on the top deck or in the hot tub - and yes, we did all that too but we made it a point to be in on all the activities. Who would have wanted to miss an opportunity to swim with the incredibly curious sea lion pups, penguins, octopi, turtles and giant rays, or watch blue-footed boobies catch their prey underwater, or be blown away by the unearthly landscape of Sullivan Bay lava field? The crew of M/V Evolution - from the captain to the cruise director to the onboard doctor to the panga drivers were all focused on one goal...to make this the trip of a lifetime for us. And this extended beyond the activities to include the onboard food and general cleanliness of the passenger quarters and the boat as a whole. I have to admit that I was particularly concerned about these two. I worried pointlessly. Our rooms were cleaned several times a day and the food onboard was excellent. Yes, expect a fair amount of seafood but if you have special requests (like my partner did), the crew/company will go out of its way to meet them. They actually anticipate the passengers' needs and had juices and snacks ready at precisely the right times. And what was even more impressive is that Steve, our cruise director, actually had memorized each persons needs (dietary or otherwise) and would alert/direct the passengers even before anyone needed to asked. I learnt that once when they had a person onboard with nut allergies, the whole boat was scrubbed down and there was not a nut to be found the entire week. We were very fortunate to have a remarkable group of people sailing with us. And we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to make their acquaintances. As good as the trip was, having outstanding company to share the experiences with just makes it all the more special. After reading the above, I can imagine many of you saying, "yeah, sure...but nothing can be perfect. There must have been something that wasn't quite spot on." And indeed there was. Bring a sweater or some cover-up to breakfast, lunch and dinner. With the air conditioners blasting cold air, we were chilled. In our own rooms, we had the option of turning the heat up but in the dining room, it took a bit of cajoling to do the same. Actually, many of us would have preferred to eat most of our meals (instead of just a couple) in the outdoor dining area - it was lovely out there in early March (2017) when we sailed. And, be prepared to be disconnected from your internet umbilical cord. The boat has no internet service. This, we thought was a great idea. But on the two days that the boat sailed close to the inhabited islands and it was possible to pick up cell signal, we would all have appreciated a couple of hours of wifi to be able to send quick messages to loved ones to let them know just how much we were enjoying ourselves, and confirm that they too were okay. Sure, the above complaints may seem petty and trivial but that just goes to show how wonderful a time we had onboard that we have dig deep down to find faults.

Visiting the Galapagos with Quasar was a tremendous experience, with great comfort and safety, the food on the boat was excellent. This is definitely the best way to get to know these islands.

The Evolution is a great size ship to tour the Galapagos. The cabin, food, snorkeling gear and crew were all in A1 shape. The naturalists, Christina and Walter were very knowledgeable about the islands, history and the animals. They made sure everyone got to see the amazing animals. So enjoyed snorkeling with the fish, sea lions, sea turtles, and even the sharks. I would encourage anyone to experience this awesome vacation.

Quasar Expeditions is a fantastic company that really knows how to showcase and explore the Galapagos islands. The boats are small yet comfortable. The crew and guides provide the best island (read: animal viewing) tours and because of the boat size the places for snorkeling opportunities could not be better. Whether it was playing with sea lions underwater or swimming near penguins or watching courtship rituals with blue- green-and red-footed boobies (and so much more), Quasar Expeditions did it all. Do yourself a favor and go with the best! You'll be glad you did.

I highly recommend Quasar for anyone traveling to the Amazon/Galapagos. Diane and Paul's knowledge of the area and experience helped us make informed decisions tailored to our family. They were always available. patient, and candid in their guidance. The Evolution yacht in the Galapagos was perfect - cabins, public areas especially sun deck, food, crew. And, our naturalist guides, Sam and Walter, were readily available to share knowledge and help everyone enjoy the experience. We had a mixed age group ranging from 12 to 70+. The teenagers brought great fun to the experience. Daily schedule was excellent with at least 1 hike, snorkel, plus other activities each day, with time for an afternoon rest and cocktails on the sundeck before the daily naturalist presentation and dinner. Don't hesitate to travel with Quasar - you'll be very happy!!

What an amazing experience! There is nothing else in the world like the Galapagos Islands. Seeing the wildlife on the Grace yacht made it that extra bit special. The boat has history and you can feel it. It's a nice size, much smaller than many of the other boats visiting the islands. This makes the whole experience feel more special. The smaller boat also means a better guide to passenger ratio. And just seeing the profile of the yacht from the distance was an uplifting sight...Far better than any modern fiberglass boat. The service from the crew was exceptional. Every member of staff enjoyed what they were doing, all requests were gladly managed by the team. The quality of the food from such a limited galley was amazing. Rapha, the head guide, was the best guide we've ever had on a tour. He was knowledgable, funny and enthusatic. Head office communication was responsive and helpful. There was loads of information available and provided. You pay a bit more than some other alternatives, but it defintely felt like we were getting value for money despite the higher cost. Would definitely recommend.

Our week in the Galápagos on the Grace was an especially great trip because of the seamless support and professionalism of the ships guides and crew. The small yacht experience gave us maximum flexibility when hiking, snorkeling, or taking advantage of an unexpected creature sighting. The boat was comfortable...especially the outdoor spaces, and food, equipment, and guides were top notch. Our pre trip contact with the Quasar office was also very quick and efficient.
