We were looking for quotes to sell my partners car and come across ‘we buy Essex cars’ which are also part of quest motor group. They confirmed a price and said it would need to be valued in person which we had no worries about as the car is immaculate with not a single mark on it. I got several emails from the company confirming this valuation and saying to secure it we had to book an appointment. We went ahead and booked the appointment, to then be told that without even seeing the car they had changed their minds and were offering £2235 less than the original price offered. Apparently the quote they offer is not correct for all cars - be aware of this before wasting your time with we buy Essex cars/ quest!

Just like those valuation sites, the initial valuation is not an offer to purchase, it is the price we may be willing to pay once an inspection of the vehicle has taken place. Our team of industry experts also review all valuations prior to any inspections, and when reviewing the valuations, they will also factor in market conditions and the supply/demand of the vehicle that has been valued. In this instance, the vehicle that We Buy Essex Cars valued required an adjustment based on this which you were made aware of prior to the inspection. We are sorry that on this occasion the market adjustment resulted in a reduction of the valuation prior to the inspection, and this is why we made you aware of the change before the appointment so that you were able to decide whether you would still like to proceed with us. I would like to express my gratitude for the help purchasing my car from Quest. I dealt with Rob and he was brilliant. This was the most I have ever spent on a car and I spent a while searching for the right car from a reputable garage. I found the car I wanted but not close to me, this wasn’t a problem at all as Rob arranged for the car to be delivered to me, it came with a full service, MOT and valet. 3 months warranty which I have extended to 12 months. I chose quest as they had such good reviews and customer service which I can 100% agree with. The whole process was easy and my car is perfect, just as described Thank you Quest and Rob

The vehicle I test drove had a new mot by all accounts by quest un yet was given the keys to the vehicle to drive the indicators where not working and nearly run out of fuel doing a approximate 5 mile journey how was I allowed to do this very poor and disappointed also costing me money again how on earth has this passed the mot.... Not happy

Dear Sophie, We're disappointed to see you only left us a 1-star review. In response to the issues you’ve raised, the vehicle was fuelled before you test drove it, which equated to around a quarter of a tank, so there was never any risk of the car running out of petrol. Regarding the indicators, we apologise for this fault, and the vehicle has been inspected by our technicians at our workshop and the fault has been rectified. The day after you reserved the vehicle, you informed us of your change of mind, and the deposit taken was fully refunded – there has been no cost to you during this process. As you'll see from our other reviews, we pride ourselves on delivering a 5-star experience, and in the majority of cases, we're happy to see that our customers have felt like we've met and even exceeded this. As a family-run business which has been going in Essex since 1924, we like to think that we've made every experience with us easy, friendly and enjoyable. My wife has a motability vehicle that is due to be replaced in October this year. She has been dealing with the Quest Motor Group for at least 30 years in Maldon and now at Braintree. The customer service received has always been first class. She has recently ordered a replacement vehicle, dealing with Darren Smith, who again has given excellent service. Darren was very helpful in her choosing a new Suziuki S Cross car.

A great selection of used cars displayed on an upto date Web site. We did a nationwide online search for the particular make and model of car within our price range. Two flagged up, know in Gateshead and one on the Quest Web site. A £90 refundable deposit reserved it, even after hours. A personal email from Anton confirmed it and booked a test drive for the following morning. Excellent personal, no pressure service secured the deal and we drove home in our new car with a part ex complete and matching what our local main dealer had offered. Well worth the 200 mile round trip.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. You were left alone to test drive and look over the cars. There was no hard selling to buy extra products.
