Overall: Highly positive experience. Enjoyed Most: The scenery is magnificent, with views of pastoral landscapes in an active winery and a breathtaking panorama of Todi, an Umbrian jewel. The owners are great people, very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed Least: The furniture in the living room is rather sparse, and some of the chairs could be replaced with more comfortable furniture to enhance the experience. However this pales in comparison to the many positives offered by the property. Surrounding Area: We used the property as base for a long series of day trips, ranging from beautiful nearby hill towns to major urban centers like Firenze and Roma. The location was great for trips in all directions. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town, Ponte Rio, is within walking distance, and has small shops and bars. By car, it is even more convenient, a 5 minute drive. Tips or Restaurants: The property provides all the basics, except a clothes dryer. We hung our clothes out to dry after washing. The Antico Forziere restaurant, just 10 minutes away in direction of Perugia, was very nice find, but there are good restaurants all over, to include the Hotel Bramante restaurant in Todi, and the Hotel Cesia restaurant. Directions: We used a GPS. Only initial point of confusion was which entrance of the two to take into the impressive property. After that, all was easy. Check In Out: Proprietors were very helpful.

Overall: Very good. Great house. Enjoyed Most: Views, pool, decor, heaps of room. Surrounding Area: Good weather. Nearby Events or Locales: Otivar. No. 30 min drive away. Special Experiences: RentVillas assisted me in arranging some catered meals. A good idea has cooking for big groups is not easy! Tips or Restaurants: None. The instructions are good. Although there is no need to bring money for tourist tax. Directions: We just used Google Maps. Perfect. Check In Out: All good.

Overall: The chateau was beautiful and we had a great time. It was large enough for everyone. Enjoyed Most: The grounds are beautifully kept, the managers were very friendly and helpful. It was very large for a large number of people, plenty of room to spread out. There were many amenities (swimming pool, gym, table tennis, bikes). Enjoyed Least: There were not enough lounge chairs by the swimming pool for such a large group. The WiFi was unreliable - it could only be used in the living room which smelled so smoky it was hard to stay in that room. The sauna could not be used without simultaneously heating the pool, which cost extra. The chateau is 40 minutes from Montpellier--further than we anticipated. We were disappointed that we could not have an in depth tour of the wine making facilities and wine cellar because the wine person was on holiday. Note that most bedrooms do not have an en suite bathroom. Some bedrooms that were listed with private bathrooms actually were not en suite; one has to walk out of the bedroom to the bathroom. Surrounding Area: Surprisingly, outside the chateau there was a church with a bull ring attached to it! We were fortunate that there was a bull fight (non violent) while we were there. It was very interesting for us to see this slice of native life. The region is a bull and camargue (white horse) raising area. Nearby Events or Locales: We were in the village of Saint Laurent D'Aigouze. We could walk outside and there was a pharmacy, a small tobacco shop, and a couple of restaurants. We ate at one of the restaurants which was one of the best meals we had during our 3 weeks in France. Unfortunately, one had to drive to a small supermarket as there was none within walking distance. Nearby towns, only 10 to 15 minutes away were very nice. Tips or Restaurants: The restaurant outside the chateau with a green awning was delicious. You need to rent a car, any sites and grocery shopping you need to drive. Directions: The managers (Leeloo and Chris) are very friendly and helped us, and they were a highlight of renting this chateau. Check In Out: We did not need to have the rental voucher or copies of our passports. It was really simple and stress free to check in and out.

Overall: Overall, our experience at the property was pleasant and relaxing. Enjoyed Most: The view of the lake and close proximity made each morning's sunrise special. The gardens and grounds are very serene with chaise lounge chairs which made for easy relaxing. The terrace allowed for beautiful alfresco dining. Enjoyed Least: The air conditioning in the middle bedroom never did get cool according to the couple who stayed there. The instructions for the washer/dryer are in Italian, only. The rugs and runners were quite slippery with nothing to keep them anchored. One of the lucite chairs in the kitchen broke. Surrounding Area: Walking distance to the little market and restaurants. Easy transit by bus to ferry landings and other towns. Nearby Events or Locales: Laglio was within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: The two restaurants in town were both very good but I cannot remember the name. Fresh fish offerings and pasta were both superb. Directions: We took private transportation and had no problem finding the property.

Overall: What a lovely villa! The location was perfect to get away from the crowds of Florence. Such a beautiful setting amongst the olive trees and vineyards nearby. Enjoyed Most: We loved hearing about the history of the property. For small children the pool was wonderful! Enjoyed Least: July heat means mosquito season. The property manager was very helpful trying to help mitigate them. However you have to decide between keeping the windows open to enjoy the fresh air, or run the A/C which is so expensive in Italy. Surrounding Area: We loved visiting some of the nearby vineyards and wineries. The Antinori vineyard is very close and worth a visit. The town of Mercatale is a lovely nice Coop market that is clean and has everything you might need. The baker in Mercatale is so patient when dealing with a non-Italian speaking tourist and has a nice selection of bread, pasteries and cheese. Nearby Events or Locales: Mercatale, five minutes by car. Tips or Restaurants: Bug spray and mosquito repellant in July. The property manager, Babeth will have great restaurant suggestions. Directions: This is not an easy property to locate without GPS. Once you are off the main road there are a couple of turns...with GPS its easy and our rental car had no issues. Check In Out: Professional and prompt.

Overall: The staff were excellent and the property was beautiful. We had a few issues with no water on the first night. The manager fixed the water issue very promptly. The manager was always available for queries and came over when we needed anything done. Enjoyed Most: Beautiful outdoor area and pool. The kitchen is the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in my life. Enjoyed Least: A couple of the outlets didn't work. Surrounding Area: Gorgeous area surrounding the villa and great nearby village. Nearby Events or Locales: Nearest town was not within walking distance - 10 minute drive. Tips or Restaurants: Make sure you fully understand how everything in the property works - eg lights and ovens etc as it is a bit complicated. The manager is very happy to explain and be contacted if you need to ask how to work anything. Special Experiences: We arranged for a cook to come in and do a cooking class - was fantastic! Directions: We used Googlemaps but your directions were fine. Check In Out: No - all worked well.

Overall: This place was amazing on all fronts especially with Tony the owner there to help us. He went above and beyond for us even driving us to dinner one night and grocery shopping for us. The views are breathtaking and the home was clean and had everything we needed. Could not say enough about it. Enjoyed Most: Tony and the view! Plus a Michelin 2 star restaurant that was within walking distance and Tony set up an amazing dinner for us! Enjoyed Least: I'm stretching since we all loved it, but the walk to the beach was a bit farther than expected. It was really hot so that made it feel longer. Very minor though. Surrounding Area: The views, beaches, ability to take a boat to Amalfi, Positano, and Capri. Nearby Events or Locales: Nerano. Yes. Tips or Restaurants: Quatro Passi is a must! Also the beach and restaurant at Conca del Sogno. Directions: We didn't drive. Also, not sure you really need a car. All is accessible by boat, bus or Tony! Check In Out: Although check in and check out are at certain times, check in with Tony as he will do his best to coordinate with the times of your flights for early or late check out.

Overall: I liked the property. Enjoyed Most: I loved the person managing it, Alain. Heis an amazing person and super helpful. Enjoyed Least: It was too far from the ocean. Surrounding Area: It was very peaceful and quiet. Tips or Restaurants: Make sure you bring beach towels. Directions: You will not be able to find it without a GPS Check In Out: Alain is amazing so the check in check out process is no problem.

Overall: Villa Carmina is wonderful. There were 13 adults in our party and the villa easily accommodated a group of that size. Enjoyed Most: We were able to return to the villa after excursions to Florence or other Tuscan sites and cool off in the terrific pool. Each of the bedrooms was comfortable and had its own bathroom. Enjoyed Least: One of the bedroom's air conditioner was not working. Editor's Note: The air conditioner is now fully functional. July, 2016. Surrounding Area: The villa is set among vineyards and olive orchards even though it is only a few minutes from the Florence to Siena highway. Nearby Events or Locales: Tavarnelle Val di Pesa is the nearby town - very pleasant to visit, but not walking distance Directions: Since we had multiple cars, we used different GPS systems to find the house. One system (Garmin) did not find the address initially. Check In Out: The owners of the villa are wonderful and helped make our stay very memorable.

Overall: We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Enjoyed Most: The apartment is beautiful and has all the modern conveniences that American customers would want, such as good air conditioning and very comfortable beds. It is located on a large property shared by a small hotel/restaurant called Tout Va. The property is spacious and has fantastic views. Surrounding Area: Great parking, beautiful swimming pools, and an excellent restaurant next door. Nearby Events or Locales: Taormina is just up the hill. A car is recommended because the street does not have a sidewalk and it is rather steep. Tips or Restaurants: There are lots of good restaurants in Taormina. The staff at the Tout Va restaurant and hotel next door were wonderful and very helpful. We had breakfast there almost every day. Directions: We always use GPS and the apartment is not difficult to locate. It is a main road up to Taormina. Check In Out: Very helpful property manager who is available via text and phone.

Overall: Our overall experience was excellent. Enjoyed Most: The view, pool, location, and the patios. Enjoyed Least: The living room furniture was uncomfortable and there was poor reception on the TV. There was also some noise from the bar/restaurant in the marina on Thursday and Friday night. Surrounding Area: There are many beautiful towns within and hour's drive that were great day excursions. Nearby Events or Locales: Massa Lubrense, yes Tips or Restaurants: The two restaurants in the marina are great. Directions: We had a driver, arranged through RentVillas.

Overall: Loved by our whole group. Good base for day trips. Easy bus to Barcelona. Convenient easy walk to town (Sant Pere de Ribes) for daily groceries. Villa large enough that you could gather as a group or find a quiet spot to hibernate. Very comfortable and well supplied. Support management excellent and all issues dealt with immediately. Enjoyed Most: Privacy of compound and layout was excellent. Quiet and comfortable.Enjoyed the pool area and ping pong table. Enjoyed Least: Wifi system could be improved if possible. Perhaps brighter lights in living room. Surrounding Area: Walk to restaurants, Clubhouse 27 and Tennis Club for easy, delicious meals when we didn't want to drive out. Security service in neighborhood was excellent. We felt very safe. People were very friendly and helpful. Nearby Events or Locales: Sant Pere de Ribes and yes, 10 minute walk to bakery and grocery store. Local hospital within 10 minute drive with most services. Tips or Restaurants: Villa well stocked and can buy locally whatever you might need. Clubhouse 27 and Tennis Club both have great meals. Sunday BBQ at Tennis Club a nice option since most restaurants close if you rent before mid-June. Dinner at El Carnivore was expensive but a wonderful dining experience in service, ambience and food. 10 minute drive from villa. Directions: Directions are good. We used a GPS and met Saskia at the Clubhouse restaurant . Check In Out: Check in and out easy. We found all staff Alex, Saskia and Theresa very helpful and their presence and attention made our stay most enjoyable. Would definitely recommend for large group and would stay again.

Overall: Very rustic and pleasant. Enjoyed Most: Overall setting and Tuscan flavor. Enjoyed Least: Humidity in rooms. Surrounding Area: Access to many major Tuscany attractions. Nearby Events or Locales: Village San Martino, town of Lucca--neither within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: Osteria Da Divo in Siena (great food and ambience in a cave) and Vernazza in Cinque Terre (beautiful views and an excellent restaurant at the top of the rock). Directions: GPS did not work at Casa Felicita' but did when getting near main road ... the specific directions provided in written form were perfect. Driving the access road will require sounding horn on 180 degree turns and past a farm house.

Overall: Our overall experience was very good to excellent. The location is ideal for getting out and seeing Tuscany. The property is very well kept and the apartment was in great condition and very comfortable. Provided us the perfect "base camp" from which to explore. Enjoyed Most: We loved the history of the property and the location. You get peace and quiet and amazing views and yet are only a few minutes to major roadways/highways. Enjoyed Least: None of the windows have screens, which is very nice and provides unobstructed access to the views of the countryside, but we were eaten alive. We ended up having to keep all the windows completely closed all day and all night, which meant it was quiet warm inside the house. I recommend bringing mosquito netting. Surrounding Area: We loved heading out and finding gems along the way. For example, we headed out towards Tavernelle and found along the way an excellent multi-generational wine and olive oil producer, an amazing 12th century church and more. The small grocer in Bargino was convenient, and the restaurant next door was excellent. Nearby Events or Locales: Bargino is the nearest small town it isn't really walkable but is quite close with a car. You technically probably could walk there but it would be difficult as the home is off a busy roadway with no sidewalks that I saw, and is up a winding hill (i.e., so it wouldn't be an easy walk and not advisable for older people, etc.) Tips or Restaurants: Definitely bring insect repellent. I would also suggest hanging wet towels outside the windows on the ledge (most everyone else did this too), as the bathroom has a skylight but may not be warm enough to completely dry your towels each day. The property manager provided us a small booklet with their recommended restaurants--we tried several and found their list and suggestions to be very good! The restaurant in Bargino is quite good (especially the spaghetti olio!) There is a large grocery store within about a 15 minute or less drive. Directions: We did not use a GPS (we rented one with our car but it was set to Russian and neither we nor Hertz could figure out how to set it back to English or even Italian) and found the directions to be very good. The property was easy to find, and is market with signs. Signs are small, so you have to be watching, but they are there. Check In Out: Check in-out process was very easy. Lovely property managers who were very helpful.

Overall: Excellent views of the Gulf of Salerno, mountains, gardens and hillside structures. Enjoyed Most: View. Enjoyed Least: Area was not walkable due to being on the mountainside. However, buses ran continuously to Amalfi for less than 2.00 just down the street from the villa. Surrounding Area: Breathtaking views. Nearby Events or Locales: None. Directions: The directions given gave us two options. One along the coast and another over the mountain. I suggest taking the one over the mountain. The coast drive was long and tedious.
