Overall: It was very nice vacation for all of us! Enjoyed Most: The location was super! Enjoyed Least: It wasn't air-conditioned. The apartment is on the 4th floor without elevator. Surrounding Area: Fontana dei Trevi Tips or Restaurants: Pay attention to the lack of air-conditioning, especially if you're booking during the summer period. Everything is avaialable for purchased nearby and there is no need to bring a lot of supplies.

Overall: Very good. Enjoyed Most: Relative isolation, and staff was very helpful, friendly, and responsive to requests. Also, gave good suggestions on places to go and eat. Surrounding Area: View and farmer stand down the street and nearby beaches. Nearby Events or Locales: Akrotiri was walking distance for serious walkers. Tips or Restaurants: Good restaurants in Fira. Dolphin is short distance with great seafood. Directions: Had driver meet us.

Overall: Our group had a wonderful time. We all enjoyed our time at the Villa. Our host was there to meet us and was very welcoming and could not have been more accommodating. We were short 2 fans in the bedrooms and as it was very hot he returned a short time later with 3 brand new fans. He checked on us every day and could not do enough for us. The villa was clean and, if not luxurious, had all the essentials. Enjoyed Most: The view was amazing. The pool was lovely to cool off in after a day of sightseeing. The beds were large and comfortable. The chef was great, and the amount of food for one meal fed us again the next night, good value. The outside eating area was lovely with huge pots full of lemon trees laden with fruit. (very Tuscan) Enjoyed Least: More pillows for the beds. The bathrooms, although adequate, were not great. The kitchen was a little small but well stocked. The grass needed a mow. The yard was a little unkempt but still charming. Surrounding Area: The view from the bedrooms and side yard was just beautiful. During the day you could see the Dome in Florence and at night the lights were a sight to behold. We sat and watched the sunsets from the yard overlooking the pool and it was spectacular. The villa was on a very quiet road so only a small amount of local traffic. Nearby Events or Locales: The small village of Capannuccia was within walking distance, but not much there. A nice walk (about 2.5 km) past other villas and wildflowers along the roadside. Tips or Restaurants: The chef (from the small restaurant in Capannuccia) was very good. The villa is quite isolated so you do need a car. Our group of 12 had two cars, good for running to supermarket in Grassina. For our sightseeing trips we hired a driver and van from Florence. This worked very well when cost was split between 6 couples. We used the villa as a base and went on sightseeing trips to Florence and surrounding towns. It was a lovely place to come home to at the end of a busy day. Directions: We had no trouble as we had a driver who picked us up at Florence train station. He knew the area and took us straight to the villa. Our friends with a car and GPS had a bit of trouble finding it. Check In Out: Our host was excellent even though he was not fluent in English (which made the experience all the more exotic,) and we had even less Italian. The check in/out was very smooth, we had no trouble making ourselves understood.

Overall: Very nice. Carmen and Giovanni are great. They were ever ready to help with outings, etc. Enjoyed Most: Roomy and well-maintained. Enjoyed Least: The local village is quaint but not much is there. Nearby Events or Locales: It's a 15-minute walk downhill to the village, and a 30-minute walk back uphill. Tips or Restaurants: Nearby restaurants are the highlight of Villa Agata.

Overall: Exceeded expectations and resulted in a magical experience overall. Enjoyed Most: The seclusion of this property was our favorite part. Literally tucked away among olive trees and vineyards at the end of a dirt road. However, it's on the side of a hill so you still have a great view and don't feel confined. Didn't see anyone during our entire visit except, of course, the villa owner who was wonderfully nice. Enjoyed Least: Kitchen was smaller than I would have liked, but was entirely functional. Surrounding Area: The final 2 - 3 km of roads (paved and dirt) that lead up to the villa feel like you are being transported to another time. Nearby Events or Locales: Nothing within walking distance, but that's a bonus in my view. Both Cortona and Camucia are within 6 km and serve very different purposes. Camucia has well stocked grocery stores, pharmacy, etc. Cortona is an ancient walled city with everything you go to Tuscany for - food, sites, etc. Tips or Restaurants: Rental car is a must-have. While I'm sure there are taxis, it's 6km (actual road miles) to Cortona part of which is on tiny roads and behind the villa's private gate. Having to rely on taxis would be very hard. There are at least 2 nice, large grocery stores in Camucia which is only a few kilometers away. But, they close at 1:00 on Sundays. The other days of the week it looked like they were open until 8:00pm. Best restaurant finds were in CortonaOsteria del Teatro - gorgeous little terrace and incredible food.La Loggetta - overlooks main piazza and also fabulous food.

Overall: There were seven people in our party which included two kids, ages 11 and 13. The pool was a major attraction for them. We had the two apartments in the back of the property which served our group well for our daily activities and cooking. Enjoyed Most: The quiet and the central location to most of the hill towns we visited. Enjoyed Least: The lighting in both apartments was dimmer than we are accustomed to. Surrounding Area: We found amenities, restaurants, and the hill towns of Umbria. Nearby Events or Locales: Ramazzano, yes, it was within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: One person in our group took a cooking class in Perugia and had a very good experience. The propery offers a guide with information about all of the hill towns, shopping, and other tourist information that may be needed. Directions: Used a GPS by Garmin. We had to turn around several times before finding it. Check In Out: We did not experience any significant problems, but oriention to the facilities was provided by the property manager who spoke excellent English and was very helpful.

Overall: This was our first experience renting a villa. It could not have been any better. The villa met all our needs and exceeded our expectations. Enjoyed Most: With the temperatures above the normal the pool became one of the best features of the property. Enjoyed Least: It was not as close to cities in the area but was ok for driving to them. Surrounding Area: The acessibility to the Tuscan Hill Top towns. Tips or Restaurants: Booklight for reading as lighting very dim in most bedrooms.Il Monte on SR68 about KM 57 marker next to sunflower fields was able to seat and feed 12 of us on short notice without reservations.Take train from Ceraldo to Florence.

Overall: We had a wonderful, restful week in Positano. The villa was amazing and Positano was beautiful. It was easy to do day trips to Capri, Pompeii, Sorrento and further along the Amalfi Coast. A great trip! Enjoyed Most: The view was spectacular. The property was very well-maintained and a maid came in daily. The pool was a blessing since it was close to 100 degrees F everyday. Enjoyed Least: The private beach was nice but the water had a lot of seaweed and there were jelly fish. My son got stung once so we stuck to the pool. Surrounding Area: Great little shops and good restaurants. Nearby Events or Locales: The center of Positano was close by but not really within walking distance. The villa sits at the top of the hill and the road winds back and forth to the bottom (which is where most of the shops are) so it is a long walk. Taxis are readily available but cost 20 Euros each way. Tips or Restaurants: The villa was stocked with toilet paper, shampoo, soaps, etc. When you arrive, you have to take the funiculare (elevator) down to the villa and then there are about 30 stairs to the villa so pack light! A great restaurant was Ristorante Il Ritrovo, but you have to take a taxi up the hill. Worth it, though. Directions: We had a car service from the train station so no trouble finding it. Check In Out: The key holder was excellent. He was very accessible and went over everything with us.

Overall: Overall, we had a fabulous experience. The house and property were even more beautiful and spacious than advertised. The home was well equipped with linens, etc. We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. Enjoyed Most: The lovely terraced grounds and gorgeous views. Enjoyed Least: Many of the bedroom windows did not have screens and had to be kept closed at night. Otherwise, no complaints. Surrounding Area: The surrounding area was beautiful. Lovely views, picturesque chateaux everywhere we turned, lots of interesting things to do nearby but very few tourists, and an abundant supply of great food and wine! Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town, Plazac, was really just a tiny village. It was about 5 minutes (driving) from the house. One could walk, but we did not as there were no sidewalks and we had a couple of small children along on the trip. Directions: We used the GPS coordinates provided to map out our journey. The last bit was tricky; it would have been helpful to have a few landmarks to help guide us. We found the right road through the process of elimination.

Overall: The location was outstanding. We felt very safe. Just 2 blocks from the Vatican and a fantastic pizza and gelato place just across the street. Also very close to the metro which will take you anywhere in the city. Enjoyed Most: One of the most fun things we did each day is to walk to the market just 2 blocks away and get fresh fruits and vegetables. The Italians were so friendly and helpful and even though none of us could speak each other's language, we communicated and enjoyed such fresh produce. You can even purchase wine if you bring your own container for 1.67 euros per liter! Enjoyed Least: No air conditioning but we were provided with 2 fans which made sleeping easy with the windows opened.

Overall: Great! Enjoyed Most: The location was excellent. There is plenty of room in the apartment for 5 people. Enjoyed Least: The air conditioning units were not sufficient. Each of the three bedrooms had a free-standing unit; it was exceptionally hot in Rome and the units couldn't keep up. There is no A/C in the kitchen or living area. Surrounding Area: Great shopping and market right outside the apartment. Metro right around the corner; it was easy to get to and from all the sights. Directions: We took a taxi from the airport; other than that we used the metro. No problem with the directions. Check In Out: Property manager was very helpful - no issues.

Overall: Great. Enjoyed Most: The view and pool. Enjoyed Least: The mosquitos and lack of air conditioning. Surrounding Area: The views. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town is half an hour away and there is no sidewalk. Not recommended to walk. Tips or Restaurants: Bring mosquito repellent and a traveling fan to sit on your night stand.

Overall: We had a terrific time at Villa Cernobbio! We would stay there again. Enjoyed Most: The villa is special, the garden very special, and the location central. Stefano was MORE THAN accommodating. Always there to help. Enjoyed Least: There needs to be a House Book on how to use the appliances. The kitchen needs more utensils. I bought a wisk, but the kitchen needed sharp knives, colander, small frying pan, large water pitchen.

Overall: Wonderful. Enjoyed Most: The view. Enjoyed Least: Needing a car, even though we took the train for day trips. Surrounding Area: Certaldo Alto was a surprise and wonderful. Nearby Events or Locales: Nothing was walking distance, although we did walk to Scione and then called a taxi to get back to the villa. Tips or Restaurants: Certaldo and most small towns in Italy shut down from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, so go shopping early or late; there's nothing going on in this area during these hours.

Overall: The location of the property was superb. Overall experience was a positive one. The owners, Rita and Roberto, were helpful and delightful. Enjoyed Most: The comfort of the house, very open and well maintained, and the convenience of the swimming pool. Enjoyed Least: The caretakers, who lived in separate quarters, were sometimes there more than we would have liked. Surrounding Area: Great location to reach many Tuscan destinations. Nearby Events or Locales: There was the village of Vogognano (actually a small cluster of houses, not commerce). Not within walking distance. You do really need a car to stay at Casa Antonio. Tips or Restaurants: House is very spacious and very well equipped. One of the fun things to do was to drive a bit looking for good restaurants. There are many nearby. Directions: The directions sent along with the rental voucher were sufficient.

Overall: Very good. We were pleased to have an apartment in Rome instead of a hotel. We were traveling with another couple, and it made it easier to have a common living space to make plans for the next day. Enjoyed Most: The bedrooms were very roomy and comfortable. Enjoyed Least: It is advertised as two bathrooms. The second bathroom is more like a closet and you can hardly close the door without your legs in the way. There was also no light in the bathroom. Also, the shower drained slowly and would spill out into the other part of the bathroom. The air-conditioner in one of the bedrooms wouldn't stop clicking/rattling which kept you awake. Editor's Note: There is only one bathroom listed in the description. Surrounding Area: Great street, lots of shopping and restaurants and close to a plaza with lots of churches. Also close to Termini station where you could catch an inexpensive cab. Tips or Restaurants: Overall, this apartment was pretty well equipped. I would suggest bringing wash cloths, dishclothes, dishsoap and extra toilet paper. There is no dishwasher or washing machine and we couldn't get the computer to work. Check In Out: We were charged an additional 20 euros for late check-in, however we were only 15 minutes late because of traffic and trying to find the address. I thought that they could have given us a break on that.

Overall: Very Roman. The apartment was just as advertised and better than the photos indicated. Bright and airy, with a very lively terrace. Facilities were roomy and private. Open air circulation avoided the need for any air conditioning although it was very warm (upper 80's F). This is a great location, being just across the Tiber from Trastevere where the best retaurants are located and most locals eat. Enjoyed Most: Location, space and air. The terrace was a delight. (I am not talking aboiut a "view". There was no "view", just a wonderful openess.) Enjoyed Least: 1. Lack of water pressure made the showering difficult.2. Great location, but noisy with the windows open, being just above a busy (at all hours) street. Chalk this up to part of the experience and not a bad trade off for not having to usethe A/C. Surrounding Area: Dining and proximity of sights. Very local, not at all touristy. Tips or Restaurants: Trastevere is the place ot eat and relax with the locals. Directions: Taxi driver took us to the end of the block. Rome is no place for un-initiated drivers.

Overall: Where can we begin! My wife and I had a really wonderful experience in Skopelos at Villa Adonis. It was situated on the hill overlooking the Mediterranean. It was truly a dream honeymoon. We were in a private and secluded area but close enough to be near society. Enjoyed Most: We loved the spaciousness, the pool, the view of the sea and the town, the flowers and landscape. We loved the architecture of the house. It gave us a sense of a real Greek property with high ceilings, tones of blue, open kitchen, open living room, breakfast and dinner balconies, and oh... did I mention the view?!?!!! Absolutely loved it! Enjoyed Least: Not much. It did not have the internet but if you are a person that wants to totally be disconnected, this is the place for you. Surrounding Area: The town had everything you needed. You could walk to town if you really wanted to (we did). We also drove around the island. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest town is Skopelos. About 30 minute walk. Tips or Restaurants: Be prepared for total seclusion! Great for families and couples. The best restaurant is the one inside your own kitchen. We cooked most of our own foods. Directions: Thank God for our greeter! The directions were not that great. We followed him there. By the way, make sure you can drive a stick and have an international driver's license if you are from the States.

Overall: We had a marvelous time at the villa. Perfectly located with a great host. Besides being everything we were looking for in terms of beauty, location, cleanliness, accommodations, pool, Tuscan view...we were very happy to find that Raffaele, our excellent host, was there to help us arrange everything we needed including private wine tastings and fresh cherries. Marcella came over one night and made a tremendous Tuscan dinner with excellent wine. Lorenzo offered translations and suggestions for places to visit. The location made for great trips to all the wonderful "old towns". The marvelous cat, Stella, made it a lasting memory. Highly recommend. Enjoyed Most: Besides the great location (near town but out in the vineyards), the villa is quiet and has both a swimming pool and a tremendous view of the surrounding hillsides. Surrounding Area: The villa is centrally located near most all the Tuscan towns and locations. We made easy drives to many lovely spots and with the help of Lorenzo he made it even more special. Lorenzo took us on a tour one day to all the wonderful stops and of course, great wine locations. Nearby Events or Locales: We made the morning drive into Chianciano Terme to the local market. Tips or Restaurants: Raffaele ensured we had everything we needed and if not, found it for us. Directions: Had a GPS but it was not really needed. You should have one just in case, though.
