Unable to get through on the phones, cannot create an account to renew my policy and their web chat is not working. Is this the new customer service we are to expect since Covid?

My motor insurance direct debit payments with RIAS were £27 a month. After (exactly) 2 months, I sold my car & wanted to cancel my insurance. After queueing on the phone for 28 minutes I spoke to a lady who told me that the cancellation charge would be £50. I realised that they would charge an admin fee so I thought this was acceptable. I then received a letter saying that I owed them £122! I tried twice to contact them by phone but, after waiting in excess of 30 minutes each time, I hung up & decided to email them. Several emails were exchanged with their customer service team. It took 4 days on average to receive a reply by email. Each message gave a phone number & stated that it was best to contact them by telephone (I think not!!). I asked them to explain how on earth they calculated that I owe them £122 but their replies did not really shed any light on how they calculated this charge. They merely repeated the same things each time. While all this was going on, they even passed this on to a debt collection agency to deal with!!! I hadn't even said that I wasn't paying, I just wanted to know how they came to this figure. You get what you pay for! If you want cheap insurance & don't make a claim or need help from customer service, then I guess that's OK. But if you ever need any assistance, then God help you. I certainly won't EVER use them again, and I recommend people take note of all of the terrible reviews on the Internet for this company.

Bullying an eighty two year old man into submission disgusts me on every level! I have waited on the phone for one hour and fifteen minutes and when I got through I was cut off. I am back in the queue so have decided to explain my issue with this company. My eighty two year old father had storm damage to the roof of his house over three weeks ago. The winds were recorded at over sixty miles per hour at the time. He called Rias insurance who he has a policy with and after one hour and fifteen minutes he got through. He explained the event and the recorded winds were checked by the company and they accepted that he was insured for the damage. They said they would appoint a roofer to repair the damage.(C.R.Morris LTD) A week later a a man turned up with a camera and said he was there to assess the damage and he came from an independent company. He told my father that the roof had been repaired before and took full advantage of my fathers age related vulnerability and then left. My father had not heard from them so after two weeks he called Rias and was told they would not be carrying out the repairs, he asked why and they said the assessor had rejected the claim. I have a legal representative onboard as water is likely to be entering the property by now, and they are in breach of their contract! Bullying an eighty two year old man into submission disgusts me on every level! Other houses in the road had similar damage but they have been repaired! ..I am still waiting in the queue to make my formal complaint before proceedings.

A complete stitch up. Paid in full at application following quote via compare the market. Less that one month later I was accused of inputting the wrong property type and told my premium would increase by almost £70. This was their input error, not mine. I cancelled the policy and had to pay £30+ cancellation fee and £20 admin fee so will only get less that half my payment refunded. I was unwilling to pay for their admin error and unwilling to stay with a company who are so dishonest. I dread to think what would happen to anyone who has a claim. They are making money under false pretences. Don’t touch them with a barge pole. NB I’m still waiting for my refund and have had to pay out for an alternative policy.

I could not fault RIAS throughout my time dealing with them. Simple processes, efficient, effective and reasonably priced. I endured zero frustration dealing with this company, which was very refreshing. But for the fact that they were some £300 less competitive this year compared to a few other providers, I would have had no compunction in renewing. Indeed, I am very sorry to have to go elsewhere this year but next year, hopefully when I fit into their risk profiling more snugly, they will be my first port of call when looking for quotes. I highly recommend this company. They are what an insurer should be.

Hiked up my premiums and can never get hold of anyone to speak to them. Customer service isn't great so it left me no option but to cancel my policy with them. If only someone wouldve just answered the phone! Wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

The worst Insurance company you can possibly find on the market. Avoid at any costs. They gave you a good prices, ask you for paperwork and than change the prices double, when you want to cancel the policy duo to unaffordability of the new rates (which are ridiculous rates) they charge you another £60 cancellation fee, even though the cancellation occurred after they amend their prices, otherwise I would keep the policy. It's a joke, don't bother..

Avoid! I had been with rias for 10 months, unfortunately I had to ask rias for some more time to pay the last installment and they were fine. I then ring up to arrange my renewal and pay the out standing balance. Turns out they had cancelled my insurance four says ago leaving me with 'I'd shop somewhere else...because we all have 200 odd pounds sitting around just in case. Utterly fuming. Really a truly avoid.

Appears not to like cancellations. No easy option to get in touch. Sold my car 3rd May 2021, stopped my standing order after 21st May payment since I could not get them to notify. They wrote 5th June confirming that the policy had been cancelled on 1st June. Claimed without analysis that £71.07 was outstanding and threatened to engage Debt collectors to handle after 10 days. They have no respect for Customers in good standing. I am ignoring their threat and shall be seeking legal redress if I am continued to be embarrassed. Avoid them like Covid-19
