"The Salter Chocolatier was brought for me last year by my son 2024. Which has been great. I use it everyday twice a day but only to mix and heat coco powder and milk. No chocolate flakes.
Within a few month the lid internal knobs started to fall off. This was not problem and unnecessary, the extra mixer I put into a draw. Next to go wrong was the handle it became wobbly over a few weeks and contacted via chat Sept 2024. I contacted Salter and they said to talk to Tesco where my son had brought it from. He removed the handle plate carefully and tighten the screw and all was good.
The lid has gradually continued to fall apart. The lid ring has become detached slowly over the last couple of months. I contacted Salter again and I was asked about the registration which I thought I had done. I apparently I hadn’t done this for my address. My son didn’t have the receipt from Tesco as he purchased the Chocolatier with the regular weekly shopping.
After talking to costumer service several times via chat and then via email of which they always replied quickly. I was told Salter couldn’t help me, the only spares Salter sell are the mixer/frothers and I couldn’t purchase a new lid from them direct. I was told I could purchase one from Amazon or eBay. Which I did and it was too small. There is also no parts number for this product .
I have tried to buy a pre owned Chocolatier for a lid but prices are crazy just for a lid.
This product has been washed internally with a soft damp cloth each day carefully.
This item is not cheap item and I believe the plastic used for the lid is not suitable for the heat of the drinks.
I must say I am very disappointed with the after sales service from Salter and the spares they have. i think a lid is fairly important for safety!
The 2 photos I have uploaded are less than a month apart and I now can't wash the rim due to it being so delicate."

"Bought a frying pan and the TOP of the handle cover has peeled off in less than three months.
Customer services actually said "do not use the cookware over a high heat", its a frying pan FFS, how also could I overheat the top of the handle?"

"Q) When is a 3 year warranty not valid for 3 years? A) When Salter offer it.
I generally try to buy high quality electrical items and don't mind spending a little more on the basis they will last longer. I purchased a Salter XL sandwich maker just over a year ago which came with a 3 year warranty. The unit is very poorly made and the plastic clasp broke recently - after 1 year but well within 3. Got in touch with Salter who refused to honour warranty because i hadn't registered it with them, despite me providing original purchase receipt. They even suggested i take the item to an electrician to repair the cheap plastic part that failed. I have a 30year old Breville that still works but it's a bit smaller. This will be my last Salter purchase. Poor quality products and dire customer service."

"I purchased the Salter kettle from Lidl, after two weeks in use I noticed a burning smell , it consequently stopped working , having misplaced the receipt I took the kettle back to Lidl who exchanged the item less than a week later again I noticed a burning smell and the kettle stopped working . Again I went back to the store but was told they could no longer help me and I was advised to contact Lidl head office. I was curious so I googled reviews for this product and realized I was not the only one who had experienced burning then the stopped working"
