“Hello! Scootaround saved our trip! My father is 80 and this cruise was his bucket list adventure. He was thinking he would be okay to lean and use a walking stick. I had my concerns as he’s quite wobbly and we were getting on a SHIP! At the Doubletree hotel, we were greeted by a couple who informed us of how the procedure to get on the boat would go down. Dad was struggling to walk and catch his breath. Nice young lady, mention scootaround and gave us a local number…. But we were leaving in two hours.
I reached out to a wonderful lady, who I think was named, Betty, I only inquired about a wheelchair, not knowing about the scooters, she said she wasn’t sure if it would work out, but she would send a note to the ship and try to save us one that would be there when we got off the shuttle from the hotel.
When we got to your tent just before loading the boat, we met the nicest young man. He helped me figure out what we needed and even was kind enough to bring the scooter over to get my dad about 100 yards away. My dad is 6’7” and 320 pounds… he was quite certain a scooter would not work for him. Didn’t think his legs would fit.
The young man encouraged him to sit down and try. And it was a success. I cannot tell you that, without this, we probably would have barely left his room.
Well, I didn’t make it hard to catch an elevator sometimes it was so worth it. This was the best money we spent the entire cruise.

I would definitely like to throw a shout out to the young man who is there at the dock when we left and when we returned. I hate I did not get his name young man with almost black hair is what I remember maybe in his early 20s.
