I'm a professional kitchen and bathroom fitter - Screwfix are my #1 parts and hardware supplier, and I spend £thousands with them every year. This happens for reasons. They're ultra-reliable, they carry large stocks, they get 95% of non-stock items by midday the next day, my local branch staff are super-helpful - etc. etc. etc. I notice that virtually every negative review is posted by a snowflake member of the public who seems to think that a trade supplier should roll out a red carpet every time they walk in for their annual visit, and that a £4 wallpaper pasting table should be made of cast-iron studded with diamonds and pearls. I'm in there practically every other day, I've been dealing with them for years, and there's never been a single, solitary bad experience. Judge for yourself based on the above numbers.

Have purchased quite a few things from Screwfix over the years and cannot fault them. They usually have everything in stock - and if not you can find the closest store with stock very easily. Haven't had many problems but when I had a generator that wouldn't start they were willing and able to replace in 24 hours - very impressed.

Do not buy from here. They sell items they dont have, and sell you items that you didnt order. Then when you try to follow up on your items you get staff who have no clue what to say or do. They take payment instantly from tour card and fail to pro ide the item or an item of equal or higher quality as required by law. Then they take 6 WEEKS to issue a refund. This is theft in my opinion as I have not had my item or my money and as such this constitutes theft. Do not buy from here. Unreliable. Selling items they dont have. Failure to comply with state laws on consumer rights. False advertising of items not available. No satisfactory method of customer care or recourse. Absolutely abhorrent practice for a subsidiary of b+q.

Absolutely abysmal service from Screwfix. Two orders placed a day apart and both orders go missing. The customer service is a waste of time as they lie about when the orders will arrive. The quote next day delivery and 2 to 3 day delivery, yet it took 11 days for 1 order to arrive and still had products missing, the other one still has not arrived. Their solution is to offer a refund once they receive the undelivered back in the depot. Would never use again as very deceitful with their information and have no respect for their customers time.

They don't seem to keep good stocks of day to day stuff anymore. Couple that with lack of parking at stores and that's probably why I find Screwfix frustrating. Click and collect works really well but it takes longer to park than it does to pick things up.

Went to my local Screwfix to collect a purchase that I ordered on line, I arrived at the store, to be greeted by an employee on the front desk, showed my collection number and was politely told that its not in stock, however she said "after checking stock availability, they have the same item at their other branch which is only 2 miles away, Great, I said ill collect it from there, then she told me we cant do that with no understanding of a explanation of why they are not able to do this. I was kind of took back by this, ok I said what can I do ? she explained that I need to go to the other branch and pay for it again. So I will now be buying this twice!!!!. ok I said, cancel my order here and I will go to the other branch to pay and collect, then she told me that she cant cancel the order until the item has come into there depot and I will need to call the customer service number to cancel. Shocked by the above I walked out and went home, My wife went to cancel the order and explained why we was cancelling, to be told by the customer manager that it WAS in stock in the depot that I first went too. Never the less I went back to the depot and collected the item. To be fair I have never had a bad experience using screwfix, but this day showed how their internal management communication processes and understanding of stock control was somewhat unprofessional, also I'm still not sure why you cant transfer a order from one branch to the other if the customer is willing to collect and potentially not having to pay for the item twice ?
