“Ordered a professional strimmer.
It turned up next day which was great.
On first use the strimmer harness broke.
I emailed them for a replacement. They said it will turn up next day. Took a week to arrive, had to borrow a harness to continue my strimming.
On second use using strimmer line the strimmer head disintegrated.
After the same use the strimmer would not come apart.
So the harness broke, the strimmer head broke and the strimmer broke all within the space of 5 days.
I asked to return it for a refund under their 3 year warranty.
I was asked to box it up, take photos of it being boxed, send an email and I asked when the courier would be collecting.
It all went dead.
Emails being ignored and impossible to get to customer service is impossible.
So I contacted my credit card for them to contact SGS under section 75 or chargeback.
I'm awaiting the outcome.
Avoid these guys at all cost.
Shoddy products and zero customer service.”

It’s supposed to be under guarantee but SGS won’t do anything about it except to say - I can buy the spare parts and they never have any problems with this item ( yeah right!! Why have spare parts then!!!) don’t buy / avoid - poor poor poor.”

“I have had good service and experince in the past from this company and liked their tools. Sadly some of their parts are cheap and fall apart easily hence the availability of many spares. The bump spools do not last more than a season and the handle clamp is cheap alloy that the threads strip out just from the vibration on the strimmer. My recent attempt at a purchase has been a nightmare.
I ordered a new strimmer spool and handle clamp due to the previous clamp disintegrating after a year (a summer season) of light use. I ordered the part on the 26th of May with next day delivery. This was a Thursday so didn't expect it until the Monday, which i thought was fair. 6 days later nothing. I emailed them, after some back and forth finally 6 days later on the 7th a new invoice was raised. The WRONG item arriving on the 9th they sent the handle and not the clamp despite it cleary showing on the invoice i had orderd the clamp! I emailed them and had to send photos with more back and forth. Still nothing so I emailed them yet again. On the 14th I had an email stating they had sent the new part. However on the 16th a new invoice was raised with the part finally arriving on the 17th with the post stamp on the 16th! This means that on several occasions when i was told it had been sent it wasnt. The item was 23 days late despite the website stating next day delivery! I'm really disappointed with this service after recommending sgs to friends in the past I don't think I will any more.”
“Ordered a Milwaukee hedge cutter with this company, preferably because they advertised next working day delivery and I had the following week of work and wanted to use this then, obviously I wasn’t expecting it to be delivered until the Tuesday, Tuesday came and nothing, went on to their website on Wednesday and to my surprise saw that my order was still in processing, at this very moment I’ve been on the phone to customer services on hold for 30 minutes 15 of these being told I am caller number 9 please hold, had anough and hanging up.
Wish I had found these reviews before and I wouldn’t have wasted my time and money….was actually going to order one of their £900 toolbox’s at the same time but thought I’d see how it went with the hedge cutter, glad I didn’t.

“My tool chest arrived damaged, I had a hard time getting though on the telephone and when I did I was advised to email instead!..however, I am happy to report that after a few emails and a couple of days the damaged item was collected and an undamaged one delivered with very little hassle indeed, after reading all of the previous reviews I was prepared for a battle, this was not necesarry as my case was dealt with very promptly thank you....I have two tool chests from SGS and I am expecting a third so I'll keep you posted!...
the tool chests themselves seem to be holding up well and look almost exactly like the sealey premier range only far less expensive!”
“Absolutely shocking company! Robbing people blind and by reading previous reviews (only after I had placed an order) it seems like it is the same problems over and over again. I ordered some gas struts, went through to sales who took my money quicker than I could even say how much! Really arrogant and rude man, promised it would be sent out that day for next day delivery! When I asked about an invoice he said "yeah nothing to do with us that will go through to another department and they'll deal with that" and hung up on me. No delivery the next day, or day after. Rung up 6 times in 4 days chasing up my order to find out that it hadn't even been processed for dispatch, each time waiting on hold for minimum of 25 minutes. I was told to trust a woman to sort this problem for me when she arrives the next morning she will personally make sure my item is sent out at 9am as the previous woman hadn't even documented my phone call, so I trusted her. Next morning I had no email, no call, nothing! So I rung back again after dinner for her to say "oh yeah, well there's nothing I can do I've only just rolled into work at 12 laughing as she said it. Does this not sum up the whole mentality of the workers/company? Nobody there gives 2 hoots about the customer they just pass the book then don't answer the phones. Only interested at the stage where they are taking your money!! If you're wanting good after sales or customer service don't even waste your time coming here. Absolute sh*t show of a company and I will never be ordering from them again. Do yourself a favour and AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”
