“I am only on my second sensor, and I just wanted to give props to this product. 3 weeks ago I had a routine blood test to renew a prescription I was taking. I got the results back and was taken aback by the fact that my A1c was at 11.1 with a fasting glucose of 261. The previous test I had taken (3 years prior) was at 5.4 so these numbers, along with elevated cholesterol and blood pressure scared me tremendously. I had gestational diabetes with my daughter so I knew it was more likely to get diabetes and I knew the traditional path to insulin reliance once you had it and that is a big fear of mine.
Since my 20’s, I am 46 now, I have been overweight and I have always felt no matter what I did (running, bootcamps, gym memberships, fad diets, etc…) the weight wanted to stay on and add on. I would get so frustrated I would eventually just give up. I always felt like my body was working against me.
Once I received those numbers back I started researching and came across Signos. I have an engineering brain so I loved the idea of seeing what was going on in my body. I am so happy I went through with it and ordered it. In this short period of time my fasting glucose and average glucose has went down to around 193 and is continuing to trend downward. Still a long way to go but this is a HUGE improvement and in a short period of time. Signos has given me insight to my body that I wish I would have had years ago. Minor, I mean very minor, changes in eating and exercise can impact the blood sugar (and subsequentially fat burning) so much. This is as simple as adding a protein or vegetable when eating certain foods. Or more importantly for me, my nightly sugars skyrocket (like 260+) around 3:00-4:00 am even if I went to bed with numbers in the 140s. By working out for just 15 minutes (rowing machine) before bed I have found that spike decreased almost 50 points nightly yet working out in the morning did nothing to lower my fasting numbers. This is the first time I feel like something is truly giving me the insights on me and allowing me to tailor my eating and exercise to know what is working for me.
Additionally, seeing how certain foods impact me is making me look at the foods differently. I am seeing them as a spike graph and weighing whether or not I want to deal with the aftermath of it. It is amazing how many quick snacks (that I didn’t need) I have been able to walk away from just with this mentality. I am already seeing results in weight loss as well. Again, this is the first time in 20 years that something is working for me. I can not say enough good things about having this information at my fingertips.
