“This was my 1st time with a tour group and it couldn't have been better. The group was so much fun and very compatible. We had a great guide, Betty Levin. The tour was a little slow to start, but once we reached NZ, we had a wonderful trip down the coast. The accomodations were very nice, the hotel food spectacular, and the stops were interesting and views gorgeous. I would do it again.”

“Only way we could have seen more is if they woke us up at 2:00 am. Damian, our guide, was AMAZING. It was an awesome trip. Normandy was especially poignant”

“There is only one reason that I can't give five stars to our SmarTours tour. It seemed a bit odd that an experienced tour company could fail to mention and consider that this tour took place during one of two "Golden Weeks" in China wherein about 70 to 80 million Chinese tour all of the big tourist places, causing crowds about two to three times normal. Alas, we never got to see Tienanmen Square because our bus couldn't get to the place; and we spent a good portion of our visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors squashed flat against the walls by the massive crowds. Everything else about our tour was first rate from our tour guide Ma; to how he and our bus drivers found ways to make everything fun and interesting; to the good nearly all Chinese food; to great free bottled water; to our hotels; our great fellow tourists; and all our tours. Pack light; and have a good time if you go to China with SmarTours. Just don't go the first week of October!”

“The tour itself was good. Travel arrangements both ways were poor. Couples not seated together and scheduling snafu on return directly responsible for missed flight and unscheduled overnight layover in Lima. This degree of traveling inconvenience makes it unlikely that we will choose smarTours in the future.”

“This is our second tour and we had an amazing tour of Spain. The tour guides and hotels were excellent.Had a wonderful trip and enjoyable time with whole group. Looking forward to seeing more countries in the future.”

“A beautiful trip in every way. Spectacular scenery, animals, wonderful food, beautiful lodges. Our tour leader was great...very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I want to take another Smartours trip, maybe to Kenya.”

“Ron was a fantastic tour guide very knowledgeable. Along with the hustle of a guided tour, there was enough down time to do things on your own. Loved the tour I was on with the extension for Victoria falls. I will be booking this again next year cause there was so much I still want to see & see over again”

“We throughly enjoyed our trip to Peru, which included the breathtaking views from Machu Picchu, and the incredible history of the Incas, and of course the delicious food, and shopping for products made from alpaca. Our Director Mr. Luis Carrion, and Clestino Ocsa were both helpful and provided good background and historical content in the many places we visited. Their knowledge and experience was invaluable which provided us a wonderful time while we were on the trip. And also a special thank you to our local guide in Lake Titicaca, who also provided significant historical value on the floating islands of the Uros Indians who practice the old traditions of fishing, and living on the lake plants. Overall, we had a great time, and looking forward to additional trips with SmarTours in the future! Thank you!”

“The tour guide tried to include too much in his explanations of the places we visited. He lost me many times with his Portuguese. The add on excursions were not worth the price. Too few meals were also provided. This was my sixth Smartours and it was the worst I have been on. The guide was also not very considerate of the older clientele under he was called out.”

“I've been traveling with you since the 90's and Smart Tours never disappoints. We have several friends who have traveled to Africa for a lot more money and none had as wonderful a tour as we did. What insight into the culture, the best hotels, the best meals, as always guides that are to the best in the industry. You simply can not beat Smart Tours.”

“This trip was the most recent of many I've taken over the years, including a Smartours trip to Peru in 2012. The most recent trip was a return to Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Lima and a totally new experience on the La Perla cruise in the Amazon. The return portions were wonderful; I enjoyed new experiences and perceptions and returns to favorite memories. The Amazon portion was what originally drew me to this tour and it was all I'd hoped for and more. Amazing sights, experiences, and adventures. The most wonderful overall memory of this trip was the enthusiasm, knowledge, and general friendliness of all the people who worked to make this trip amazing.”
