Wonderful tour of Vietnam! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, helpful and experienced. The food and lodging were excellent. There were so many things to see and do in the two weeks we were there it was amazing! I'll travel with SmarTours again. Great value for the money!

Great sights and history of Egypt but nothing about the Egypt of today! The schedule created too many very early mornings, leaving us very tired. Frequently seemed unorganized.

It was a great trip and Tommy was a fantastic guide. He went above and beyond by giving each of us a CD of photos he took during our travels and sent additional photos via email. Dee was also a great guide in Cambodia. The nine hour layover in Shanghai was a killer, though the business class lounge made it a bit better.

Egypt tour. Just returned on the 28th. First off on the plane no vegetarian meal ordered as I had requested the man who booked my tour. I went 10 hours with no food but a couple pieces of bread. First day in Egypt-I let my tour guide know I was vegetarian-what did they serve me that very night at the 'welcome dinner'? A meal of meat. Once again I went hungry. What is so hard to understand about a common meal request? I saw many wonderful sights in Egypt which was why I went. But the total filth, flies, and constant harrassment from the locals for money basically ruined the trip. And why no bathroom on the bus? We were at the site of the 3 large pyramids and there was only a small row of port-a-potty things, gaurded over by a local who would not let anyone use them without paying him first!! Really?!!! Horrible bathroom situations everywhere we went except in the hotels. Always with someone there with their handout for 'tips'. Mistreatment of animals there. Several of us complained to the tour guide who explained, 'we beat our animals and children here, it does not mean we don't like them, its how we discipline them'. Its a wonder I did not end up in an Egyptian jail. First trip with SmarTours-now my last. This was not worth the money or level of harrassment we endured. Will not recommend this company to anyone. We just came back from Egypt Tour. Our Guide Khaled was fabulous with so much knowledge of the history. He made sure our group was safe. over all experience was great. However the Egypt Air experience was horrible. The crew was very unhelpful. Bare minimum water was offered. Due to second security no personal water could be brought on board. we felt very dehydrated. The NY office was very incompetent. Lost my son's deposit check twice. we had to make several calls and emails exchanged to finally get things straightened out.

I have always been pleased with the tours I have taken with smarTours (I have taken 3). However, this trip to Egypt, although fantastic, was a bit disorganized. I realize this is in part to the culture of Egypt but also, I think our tour director contributed to the confusion. Soja had an immense knowledge of Egyptian history but she did not always impart this information to us in the best fashion. Suggestions: 1) Soja would start talking before all in the group were there and information would be lost on some. 2) Soja used a microphone around her neck so when she turned her head, you could not always hear her. I believe this microphone was supposed to be on her head so when she turned her head, the microphone would move with her. 3) Soja would just point or say over there instead of right/left, etc. Those of us who could not see her, would not be able to tell what she was talking about. 4) Many times, Soja would tell us something and then later, the information would be different. Often made for much confusion. Wanted to bring this to your attention as I think there are easy solutions to making this trip VERY GOOD instead of just GOOD in my mind. However, it was a fabulous trip with amazing sites. I will still always use smarTours for my international travel!!! Thank you smarTours!!! I believe there are simple solution.

Tour guide was exceptional, one of the best. So personable, knowledgeable of the places and history and customs. Such a joy to travel with her.

This would have been an outstanding tour if not for two things- (1) We had a group of 20 people many of whom were disabled and needed wheelchairs (never on all the 6 previous Smartours we have taken where so many people in need)-this made it difficult for the rest of the tour having to wait for them and (2) their group leader seemed to think the tour should accommodate her group's wants rather then the itinerary we paid for. There was some tension between their leader and her demands and our tour director. I am glad Smartours is limiting tours to 30 people in the future. Hopefully the new activity rating will help people make better decisions about what is appropriate for them. This group slept through most of the tours and game rides and showed no interest in the history/culture or events that shaped South Africia. The tour director, Ron McGregor, was excellent and hotels were truly 4-5*

Our tour of Egypt was well designed. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The quality of room and food in hotel was excellent. Personally I liked the cruise on Nile in in the boat even though rooms in the boat are just modest. The schedule/sights are just adequate for the number of days.

Our recent Splendors of Egypt far exceeded our expectations. The hotels provided excellent amenities and everything we needed was available on site. The river boat's food offerings were varied and delicious. But what really made our trip was our tour director, Khaled. He went above and beyond to set proper expectations were set each day and ensured we were prepared for the full day ahead. As an Egyptologist, he delivered information in an engaging way and was always willing to answer questions. He made suggestions about extra excursions or places to eat. We eagerly look forward to our next trip.

what a fabulous adventure! Not an easy trip but exciting and beautiful. Smartours is surely blessed by the association with Passage to India's Bonita Backer. We've experienced some of Smart's finest tour managers (like in Egypt and Israel) but Bonita was by far the best guide ever. Her love and devotion to this part of the world opened our eyes to its beauty and peace. Truly an adventure we'll never forget. Thank you Bonita

The tour director was outstaning in her knowledge of ancient Egyptian history. I felt like I took a crash course in Egyptian mythology and history.

The South American itinerary was varied and very well organized. Special thanks to Fernando, our tour director who was absolutely superb--knowledgeable, accommodating, informative, and professional! One important suggestion for Smartours to consider for this tour: there should definitely be an extra day or two added to Rio at the end of the trip. It was really cut far too short for such an important destination. At the very least, it should be available as an optional 1- or 2-day extension for those who want the extra time.

I just came back from Thailand your. Overall it was a great tour and the guide was absolutely amazing but I have couple of suggestions. The hotels we stayed in need to be much better, smartTouts need to negotiate with new hotels. Bedding was bad and air conditioning was horrible and noisy. Some optimal tours must be included in the package and not be optional. Need to include more attractions, like city clock in Chang Mai or Chang Rai, blue tower and more. I took the Peru tour with this company last year and the tour was terrific, but should have included island with penguins on Galapagos as optional tour, extra 2 days. As I said before, it’s a good company to travel with.
