I like the simplicity of booking shifts, it's been a life saver for me over the past few weeks. Some clients, particularly the small ones are very nice, but the hotels are not fantastic, although the other Heroes make up for that, as I've met some lovely people. So far I would say your business is good, really, really good. You're more 4.5 than just 4. I think the extra half point could be gained by having much available shifts, which will probably come with time. I think a difficult thing with rating is that some people see the "bad" clients as reflective of the agency, which isn't really fair, but as a business you can't afford to reprimand the bad behaviour of staff members belonging to the client. I wouldn't change anything that you do yourselves.

Invited to the wrong assessment day, sent several emails and received no reply so the customer service needs to be improved

Hi there, Apologies for any confusion. We're an online platform so everything is done online. We have over 30'000 Heroes registered with us so we try and make everything self service. We would love to be able to speak to every single person but it's just not possible. There are different assessment types depending on your level of experience, it is up to you to pick the right one http://www.staffheroes.co.uk/schedule-assessment/ You would also have received an email when you booked the assessment which also allows you to cancel or change the date. I done to Chefs and one of the shifts I dropped a tray cut my hand and the woman reported me but they never listened to my side I I cut my hand and the women never cared they fired me

One of the colleagues were very un-understanding to a situation and costed me my shift which i was entitled to eventhough i have done my bit of giving notice in advance. I sent an email to one of the staff for a second opinion but I didn’t recieve a reply.

Really good and reliable agency. Biggest concern is the change in payroll that I’m getting payed every two weeks instead of one week. But overall, very good.

Hi there, Thanks for your feedback. The issue was that some of the larger customers were unable to approve in time for payroll which led to complains for Heroes which forced us to update the payroll schedule. I hope it won't be too big a change. Thanks again for the positive comments Staff Heroes

I posted a job to their site (be aware you give them your card details before you post the job and matches come in). One week later I still didn't get one single job match and it was just a simple one day sales job. I have lost a week looking so now need to look elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Dear Caroline, We're sorry that you didn't have the experience you expected through our platform. I have taken a look at your booking and you have made it for December 5th in a month and a half from now. Did you mean to book for this date or did you intend to book for October? Our fill rate is close to 100% but shifts will only fill 1-2 weeks before, not 1.5 months ahead of time. I see that your booking is still live, you may want to cancel it if you no longer want the staff as otherwise the system will fill your booking in the next couple of weeks and you will receive 2 Heroes on that date Also there is no looking required on your part, we do all the work in finding you staff so I wasn't clear on how you wasted time. Lastly we take a credit card pre-authorization for all bookings as per our terms are conditions, this is clearly explained. This is so that unscrupulous companies don't use staff and then don't pay. We have never had this complaint before and have over 1'500 SMEs registered on our platform. We do offer invoice payment as a method but only subject to a credit check and above a spend threshold. I am sorry that you weren't clear on how to use our platform, it sometimes happens when customers are in a rush. As mentioned your booking is open and will be fulfilled, if your requirements have changed we recommend you cancel your booking and the pre-payment will be release. Staff heroes are a chap agency and I highly recommend that people don't choose this platform. The shifts are scarce and some people see certain shifts that others don't.They claim it's down to experience but this isn't the case. They take on more people everyday but don't have enough jobs. It's common sense to stop taking on people when there's 10 jobs or less every week. Plus the pay is £7.81 are you kidding me?! I will be leaving them any day now they're a waste of time. If you are considering joining them don't waste your time the shifts have been scarce for a while you'll probably get maximum 3 shifts a month if any at all.

Dear Winnie, Unfortunately out of the 12 shifts you have done through the Staff Heroes platform you have received a low average rating of 3/5. Furthermore you have been blacklisted by the last two businesses you have worked for. We set very high standards for our Heroes which would have been explained when you joined the platform (we are not an agency...). Our Quality Team made the decision to deactivate your account due to your poor performance. They did however give you a courtesy call to explain why, so your feedback is surprising. To also explain the Heroes with the highest ratings get notified of shifts first. So 5* heroes would be notified first, then 4.5* and so on. Because you have a 3* rating you would have barely received any shift notifications and certainly not for our more premium customers or premium rate shifts. Team Staff Heroes

Unfortunately we had some massive bookings cancelled at the last minute by a large customer due to unforseen circumstances, apologies for this but it was outside of our control. We have also made changes to our payroll set-up so payments should be back to normal and always paid on time the following week. Great idea and the app makes it really straightforward to book in (all the details of the shift are usually available before you book) and I really like that. However, there isn't THAT many shifts to choose from (at least for me), and when there are people snap them up almost instantly, then cancel a day or two before which is quite annoying!

Dear Ewa and staff, I have enjoyed being part of your STAFF HEROES team. I left full time employment last year enabling me to travel extensively and complete a french language course. Working with Staff Heroes has given me that flexibility. Since my first assignment in November 2016 I have been sent to work at several other interesting locations. Unfortunately due to a workplace injury to my left ring finger in December at a hotel in Canary Wharf I was somewhat restricted as to the type of jobs I could accept. It has now healed completely leaving me with just a slight tenderness at the tip of the finger. I did make Staff Heroes aware of the injury yet I was slightly disappointed that no one from the agency followed up to see how I was doing. My only contact pursuant to the incident was immediately after when the hotel had made contact to report what had happened. Going forward in addition to the regular jobs that have been coming my way I would like to be offered more work opportunities that best utilise my supervisory/managerial skills. In fact having been in a position to hire agency staff in my previous jobs I am also qualified to be on the recruitment term if ever such an opening were to come available within Staff. Heroes. As a point of interest my current assignment at Matthew Clark has me working more as a kitchen porter that utilising any of my other skills. There was no description of this when I accepted. I say this not in a negative way as I appreciate the work and the people there are very amicable. The Chef Manager said that their previous experiences with agency staff were very negative stating that when asked to wash dishes (and pots) they often displayed an attitude. Within the first hour I was asked if I was available to work throughout next week. She said that she can see that I just got on with it. So far I have only been to one event (Wimbledon) where I was hired as a supervisor however when I arrived there another Staff Hero said he was hired to supervise the 'Birthday party'. Anyway we worked it out between ourselves and everything went well. In fact they asked me to stay 2 hours beyond my quitting time. On the plus side I do enjoy the online job options, the acceptance and reminders. It keeps me in check. I have never been late to an assignment nor had any negative feedback. I simply enter any job with a ' give them the best of my ability' attitude and make Staff Heroes look good. I look forward to many more Staff Heroes assignments. Regards, Rod Westmaas

Take this as a view from constructive point of view please : The first thing I was not happy as a hero when I came to register was having the meeting in the lounge along side other potential heros ,would have liked to meet you in the office and have a one to one meeting with your staff The rate of pay in general is not competitive enough in the current market to attract skilled chefs who will represent staff heros that much better with clients . The good thing is you get the notifications of jobs all day On the profile page should have a skills tick list to include specific skills in my case could be skilled in specific cuisine etc so as to give the client a choice . Liked the fact that you are venturing into new markets (football venues) and offering training which will open new avenues .
