“I got this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend because he's one of those people who doesn't really need anything. The magazine is super high quality. It covers a range of interesting, coffee-related topics. Even the coffee sample package is too nice to throw away. It tells where the coffee is from, who the farmer is... We're really just impressed with the whole thing. My only suggestions to the company are A) My confirmation email says, ". . . and it expires on ." without giving a date. It's not a big deal, just surprising considering how painstakingly detailed the magazine is. B) Think about using a link to a webpage where somebody can put their address in if this subscription is a gift. It would be easier for the recipient to retrieve their gift this way instead of going to the website, ordering the product, putting the code in, etc. Also, I don't usually like people knowing how much I spent on their gift that easily. These are not dealbreakers for me- I'd still buy this again. They're just things to consider.”

“I think standard is just too bougie for me. I thought I was getting a magazine that would teach me about coffee. I want to know about how to brew, techniques for espresso and latte art etc. StandArt seems to mostly be stories about people I've never heard of. It's only tangentially related to coffee really. In four issues I only learned a few useful bits of information that I could have just gotten from a blog post. Really not happy about this because I wanted to like StandArt...”

“Great issue that among other things included worker rights, tokyo cafes and the insights from a South African cafe owner with a shout out to my own coffee home Aotearoa/NZ. Though the topics were not new, I learned something new in all three of the articles just mentioned. Standart, however, is not a 5/5 for me. The design is just not where I'd like it to be - which is shorter articles with the option for deeper and more extended online exploration if one so wishes. More images. More texture in terms of design feel and variation. This is a tough one as variation in design can also feel fragmented and uneven. I'm looking for something simple and surprising. Both easy and challenging. It is a fine mag. I will buy again. Thanks to the editors and contributors.”
