Yes, a few integrations on there are experimental to say the least, but you can always "clone" them on the platform and make further changes if you see anything of specific interest. Regarding that subject, I would suggest a couple of improvements to the Spotify search function, namely (a) include the number of playlist followers (b) return the total number of results available for a query, so that the user can decide if they wish to attempt to download an entire dateset or not and (c) expand the search function to that you can search all playlists for the appearance of a certain artist i.e. so you can find out what playlists an artist appears on. Finally, a video tutorial on how to set up and use workflows would be essential, as at the moment I do not have the knowledge or confidence to attempt it yet, even though I want to, and this is putting me off upgrading.”
Thank you! Exactly - this one-of-a-kind capability is from the platform's generic design to work with any API, starting with Spotify as you've seen! Regarding your specific feedback, it looks like we may be able to provide these features already:
(a) You can get the follower count for any playlist using this: https://stevesie.com/apps/spotify-api/playlist
(b) When searching with https://stevesie.com/apps/spotify-api/search - you'll see the "total" number of results under the type of object returned, e.g. for the total number of playlists returned in a search, check the root collection under "playlists.total"
(c) The workflow feature can handle this for you by chaining together coordinated requests to Spotify (since Spotify doesn't return the playlist artist list in its search results). You'll want to set up a 2-stage workflow to first get all the playlist IDs for the artist you're interested in from search, then feed those IDs to a second workflow (similar to this: https://stevesie.com/apps/formulas/spotify-playlist-details-multiple-playlist-ids) that will look up the details for each playlist (which will have the follower count and list of artists). You can configure the workflow extractor to only include rows that match a specific artist, so your final result will be of all playlists with at least one track for that particular artist.
