“We needed to make a change to our policy, as we wanted to add our 24 year old son (a driver since 17 years old) to our car insurance policy. The quote was not at all competitive, and when we cancelled as we found a better quote elsewhere, we were charged £50 administration fee. Whilst I accept this was in the paperwork, I feel it should have been a highlighted feature of key facts of the policy. We will not be using Swinton again.”
“For PRICE, they were shown as the cheapest. For CUSTOMER SERVICE they are an appalling comedy act that needs some award. Total garbage. Unprofessional, immature, no empowered actions at all (we'll have to check; I'll just ask; that's what it says; I'll see my manager). Never EVER received an acknowledgement to emails, just a posted letter around TEN DAYS after raising a query (so was uninsured? we'll never know). BIKERS- if they can run race teams and spemd millions on nice offices and staff perks, your claim may be a little down their list of priorities - only guessing).”
“£24.99 for a missed payment that was reclaimed the very next week from my bank account is unfair. Tesco insurance doent charge for a missed payment that is claimed again the next week. Deposit when renewing the policy unfair as being a loyal customer by renewing.”
“Everything OK with Swinton but I have not contacted them and will probably not do so until they send the renewal documents in early May.
So difficult to tell if they will try and increase the premium as many providers do once you are with them even without any claims.”
“Had to claim on policy last year after being hit from behind- no policy documents were issued to me. Quindell handle the claims for Swinton- service was appalling- took 17 calls before I was even dealt with and this was only as a result of emailing their CEO. all of a sudden customer service rang promising to call back and gave her name as Sarah- never heard from her again!!!. complained again, was told that the man would be personally handling the claim, asked when paperwork would come out - the normal paperwork where you draw diagrams!!. I was told by him that it wasn't necessary. 3-4 weeks later the paperwork came out, I contacted the man by email asking why he told me it wouldn't be needed and now I have recieved it- he never responded. it was bad enough being involved in an accident that wasn't my fault- but you expect reasonable service. Swinton rang me last week to renew my policy and I told them again I would not be renewing due to my experience with Quindell. I will be going back to Churchill next renewal- you get what you pay for!!!!!”
“I rang the local branch, had excellent service, lady called Julie white went through everything in detail, changed a few things, excess and legal cover and managed to get a cheaper quote, would recommend speaking to your local branch as the internet doesn't offer tailor made options and won't tell you how to save more money, would highly rate Swinton as a company to deal with, February 2015”
