“I've had two pairs of frames lensed with polarized progressives by Tajima Direct so far and have been extremely pleased. Communication was excellent, turnaround time was as promised, and the price was more than fair. (Similar to or lower than even the discount online glasses sites that do not specialize in sunglasses and don't offer the super-clear optics or range of polarized colors of Tajima.) The prescriptions were both made perfectly and the lens design they use is great for driving, walking, reading, or using a device outside. The dual-sided coating is awesome and the lenses are super easy to clean with a microfiber cloth or a little liquid soap and water. Next, I'll be sending my wife's Costas to Tajima for new lenses!”

“I was initially satisfied with the optics and lenses although only tried them for less than a day. Wanted a color change of the lenses but was notified that I would have to pay hanf price to do so. I started using the prescription more often. I have been using these for working outdoors in a climbing harness (4hrs) and the prescription from Tajima always give me a headache/vertigo which is unsafe. Needless to say I dont feel I will be refunded the full amount even though I am not satisfied and have now resorted using my old scratched Maui Jim lenses.”
Hi Loreto, sorry to hear all of this. First of all, if you'd like to return the lenses for a full refund, you may at any time as we've told you over email. You never replied to my follow up email explaining that as one of your options. Secondly, as per our policy, we do simply charge our cost to remake the lenses for a lens color change. All lenses are custom made to order so it's not a simple exchange of stock. Plus with prescription lenses, the previous lenses are rendered completely useless when we made everything exactly how you ordered and requested. Finally, to help you with the prescription lens issues you reference, we would need to speak to you - over email or the phone - but you haven't responded to our correspondence. We can't help you if you don't reply to us or communicate with us.
The only communication we've had with you about the prescription lenses working or not was you saying:
"Optics and lens quality are great as I have been using them yesterday and today for work. Polarization is also amazing for these lenses. I'd state that they are right up to par if not better than the Maui Jim lenses that were previously installed; there is no distortion when looking at LCD screens like I would with the Maui Jim lenses which I prefer."
“First of all, these’d lenses are phenomenal surpassed only by the amazing communication with the cofounders, Jacob & his dad, Steve.
It went like this. My first chat with them was on Nov. 20 and since I was unfamiliar with the company, I asked a lot of questions. Still reluctant to pull the trigger, I googled Jacob and read enough positive reviews that I was convinced there was very little risk factor, so I sent them a payment.
On Nov. 21, I received a shipping label via email and shipped my Moscots Nov. 22. Tajima received them Nov. 26th and I had a personal confirmation email from Jacob telling me it would take 5-7 business days to process the order and he encouraged me to ask any questions I might have along the way.
Tajima shipped the glasses back to me along with my original lenses…carefully wrapped… and the note I sent them. Since I did not have a case, they provided a soft pouch to protect the glasses. They also tightened the temples, which was greatly appreciated. I received them on Dec. 5th. Jacob reached out on Dec. 6th to confirm they arrived.
Probably overkill for a review, but this company deserves a huge pat on the back for the quality service and craftsmanship they provide. These lenses are brilliant and I could not be more pleased.
