“Over all the experience was pleasant. I had originally purchased the lenses to install myself but they weren't an exact fit but this was not Tajima's fault. I had purchased some Maui Jim Stingray's back in 2008ish, and the newer stingray's have been slightly altered over the years. I contacted Tajima and they sent me a shipping label to have the lenses corrected and in week or so I had my glasses with new lenses back. So, it was a relatively painless operation but in hindsight I should have just sent the frames on the first go around. As for the lenses them selves, they are great. They are very clear and match with my frames as if they were original.”
“I've used other providers for replacement prescription sunglass lenses and they were not near the quality of the Tajima Direct lenses. They took a bit longer, but they were worth waiting for.”

“Great customer service. Sharp looking lenses with good fit. My only knock is price vs clarity. I think they’re a little pricy for the clarity. Don’t get me wrong, clarity is good, just not what I’d call excellent for the price. In the end, I would recommend to a friend needing replacements because of good service and fast shipping.”

Hi Robert, compared to glass, our patented Tajima Urethane lenses will be equivalent in optical clarity, sharpness, detail, polarized efficiency, and scratch resistance. However, our lenses will not shatter or crack and will be far more light weight than glass. Thanks for the review!

As for finding cheaper lens replacements elsewhere, you're right in that it's certainly out there, however, you're going to get what you pay for in terms of lens quality. Those options will be cheaper plastic lenses (most of the time out of China) that will have worse optics (clarity, sharpness, distortion) and worse scratch resistance (our lenses are 5x more scratch resistant than standard plastic lenses) than our premium Japanese polarized lenses using our patented lens material.

“When I got the box one of the lenses was laying in the wrapping out of my frames I popped it back in makes me wonder how easy it's going to pop back out”

“Great customer service, sunglasses look good so far but I haven’t used them for fishing yet. If I had it to do over, I’d probably get some new frames. My old Rudy Project frames wrap around so far that I needed edge thinning for my prescription. This leads to an annoying abrupt change in refraction at the edges, which is noticeable in peripheral vision. I will have to see with more use how annoying that is on the water. Also, the transitions in my lenses occur at a different height in the field of view than in my every day glasses I guess due to the different design of the frames. Again, it may just be a matter of getting used to this with more use. Thus 4 stars not 5.”
Hi David, thank you for the review. Please note that we did fully inform and warn you about the thickness and detractors of using such a wrapped frame with your strength of power correction needed for your prescription. We actually recommended that you use a less wrapped frame, but you were insistent so we made it for you. I'm sure they'll still work great as you take the time to get used to them.
