“I had a pair of prescription glasses from Maui Jim that I loved. They are the best sunglasses on the planet. Their prescription lenses are insanely expensive. I had to get a new prescription and wanted Maui Jim lenses but the price was absurd. Enter Tajima. They made new lenses for my Maui Jim frames and I can say that they are indistinguishable from the ones made by Maui Jim and were half the price.
Don't even think about it. These folks are the real deal.”

“My Costa frames were still in good shape but the lenses had been abused. For about 55% of the cost of a new pair of progressive lens sunglasses, I had new Tajima Direct lenses put in my existing frames. WOW! great quality lenses. Door to door was about 3-weeks turnaround. “I’ve purchased 3 pairs of replacement lenses from Tajima. The first lenses were a replacement for scratched Warby Parker glasses. The replacement lenses are perfect and it was an easy straightforward process.
I had an unusual request because I also wanted to get transition lenses in very curved sunglass frames. I had searched several manufacturers before happening upon Tajima. I had emailed a couple and was told that progressive transition lenses couldn’t be made for the highly curved frames. Jacob at Tajima was able to make the transition progressive lens replacements. Unfortunately, with the highly curved lenses, the hi-tech Trivex lenses had a very slight distortion effect that wasn’t present on my less curved glasses. I was able to work with Jacob directly and ultimately the lenses were remade in Polycarbonate, which didn’t have the distortion effect. The transition progressive sunglasses are perfect now!
It truly reveals the character of a company in how they handle the occasional problems that inevitably happen with all products. I think it was more a problem with my eyes rather than the product, but Jacob helped resolve the issue. I was very impressed with the troubleshooting process and ultimately they replaced the lenses with another material.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Tajima Direct is a high-class company that goes above and beyond to help its customers. Their lenses are top-notch, and in the unlikely event that there is a problem, the customer service is unparalleled. I will definitely purchase replacement lenses from them again!
